From now on, it is in our to-go places list. While the coffee and the rest of the menu is not outstanding, what makes BuchBar different (and better) than the other coffee shops is its library: two big shelves full of books for you to take and read while enjoying your drink. If you want, you can even buy them!! Most of the books are pretty recent, while there are also ones for kids, classic reads and even graphic novels. Must say that even if 80% of them are in Dutch, for English readers as myself, there is enough options. Highly recommend to everyone! Stop by and read, yelpers!

My husband and I visited Buchbar on a sunny day and enjoyed the terras by ourselves (why anyone would be sitting inside on a rare sunny day in Antwerp is beyond me). You have a beautiful view of the Volkstraat! The coffee menu is not very expansive - but you are able to find your classic coffee drinks. We ordered a flat white (latte/capuccino hybrid) and an Americano. Both were very good.

And they're also selling gorgeous crassula plants for our apartments at a very affordable price. It's definitely a cool spot to visit if you're going to Antwerp.

DO NOT GO IN! Horrible service and incredibly abrasive. I wish I can give zero stars to reflect…read moremy experience here. My husband and I were kicked out as we were browsing. A very abrasive individual chastised us for taking a picture even though there were no signs prohibiting them. Fine - that's fair but two seconds later while we were simply pulling out our phone to look at the map the same angry guy rudely threw us out of the store. I have never experienced this anywhere I have traveled to in the world.
