The Old Bakery Inn advertises itself as "heritage accommodation" and that's exactly what it is. The building is fairly old and antique-looking, and situated in a central and convenient part of Launceston. The rooms are quite spacious for the price and feature insanely comfortable four-poster beds and surprisingly modern bathroom furnishings. The owners also have an adorable small dog that sometimes hangs out in the main lobby, and is super friendly and loves cuddles! (but be aware if you're allergic!)
The major downside to our stay was that the advertising and the Inn's website led us to believe that breakfast was included in the room, but it was not. The breakfast served there is quite good, but for $17 per person, I have no doubt you could find better quality and a much lower price if you ventured out to a nearby cafe or bakery.
Overall, a comfortable and reasonably-priced place to stay, central location that is within walking distance of several restaurants, pubs, and bottleshops, and classic, old-fashioned decor made for a very pleasant stay. read more
