This is the 1st time I have ever been into a "pot shop" and I am really glad that I chose this one. First off, it is a super nice location inside. Doesn't feel shady/seedy or any of that. It is still weird walking into a legal pot shop. They did a great job with making it look super nice. They will have you get with one of the clerks and they have their menu's and will give you recommendations based on what you are looking for. The women I worked with was Ally I want to say (so sorry if I am wrong). She was amazing. Super informative and helpful. I couldn't have asked for better information. This is the only shop that I have seen that will post their prices online and they are very reasonable for non off the street stuff. I dig it. You know you are getting fresh product and where it is coming from. They have edibles, vapor and some really nice glass pieces in there as well. Cheaper pipes and then some expensive ones. After a long day of travelling from our home in California, we stopped for a bite in downtown Bellevue. Just as we were discussing the fact that recreational marijuana was now legal, our server appeared and my weed-radar went off! Hmmm, she seemed trustworthy of my inquiry...(although perfectly legal, I still felt the need to speak in a hushed tone!)I told her we were 'turistas' and asked if she could recommend somewhere to buy some of nature's green goodies. Beautiful wood work and glass displays. Nice waiting area so you aren't stuck outside in the rain and cold if it's busy. But it's the people that make this place stand out. I am so glad that Novel Tree is my local recreational shop. The people here are amazing. Everyone is really kind and very knowledgeable. They have an amazing selection, and they do a great job of keeping everything updated on their website and leafly, so you always know what you can get and for how much. They also have lots of great sales, including their Happy Hour from 6-7 pm. The quality is top notch and the prices are very reasonable and on par or lower than other local shops. Staff here are far more professional and friendly than the majority of other shops nearby. They will actually take the time to help you find stuff you're looking for or they're knowledgeable enough to help you find something similar to suit your needs. It would be nice to have 1/4 oz options but they've added more reasonably priced 1/8s to compensate; which is appreciated. Prices are pretty good if you follow the deals or buy in bulk. Great time at the novel tree. Much easier experience than Bel-Mar and cheaper than Green Theory. Warm, woodsy atmosphere. Friendly bud tenders make you feel at home. (Or the home you wished you had!) Another guy pulled up as I was getting out of my car and he actually held the door for me. After an ID check I was directed to one of the budtenders and helped right away. The guy who held the door was held back by the ID checker until a budtender was available (sorry dude who held the door, if I had known I would have let you go first). Service was good and product knowledge was good as well. As I mentioned in my Belmar review both places tack on the 9.5% sales tax on top of their online price lists so plan accordingly. I will definitely stop here again if in the area but will go in the door knowing that I may have to wait to have face time with a budtender. read more

I have visited a few times now, I like to do so before writing any review to ensure the consistency. Each time my request for examples of top shelf pure Indica and Sativa dominant hybrids has been met with fantastic product. Like all recreational shops the flowers come in sealed packages. It's worth noting however that the packaging for the cannabis is high quality; either a small glass jar sealed with wax or a zip-lock container will provide you with detailed information on the flowers and more importantly a clear view of the buds. The budtender was able to describe what I didn't have access to: Descriptions of the smell, taste, and experience of the cannabis. The budtenders are honest and will call over co-workers if they don't have experience with a strain you're trying. They are consistently honest on weight and will often call out deals to get you what you expect. All told each experience has been so far the best I've had in any recreational shop. The flowers are top notch. I highly suggest their newly acquired Girl Scout Cookie, the always amazing Crunch Berry Kush or Bubba Kush strains, or the consistently pleasant and uplifting Haze hybrids they carry. Novel Tree is an incredible shop. Every employee I have encountered is both engaging and knowledgeable. They are so friendly that it made me feel a little concerned that I was dreaming and not actually in store! Its very rare that you walk through the door of a company and they still believe in the level of customer service that you receive in Novel Tree. The quality and variety of bud they offer is rivaled by none in the area (now that Green theory is gone). I also believe that if not all then the vast majority of their products are natural/organic. Although there's *some* information out there about multiple sclerosis and cannabis, it's really different for every patient. I was curious about why high-CBD strains and concentrates were touted but they didn't seem to do much for me. The gentleman I spoke with was patient, well informed, and explained things in a way that made perfect sense to me. I am thankful now to be able to fine-tune my cannabis use to best fit my symptoms. He recommended a few different strains and oils, but there was no hard sell at all and I walked out only with what I really wanted. When they say medical here, they mean it! read more

As a medical cannabis user I have visited every medical shop in King County. One of the last places I visited was the Novel Tree in Bellevue. My very first experience was with Matt one of the certified cannabis consultants at the Novel Tree. Matts vast knowledge of how cannabis can be used as a modality for healing is the reason I make the drive to Bellevue for my medicine. Knowing how to dose and educate patients about medical cannabis use is his priority, and he is very knowledgable. Cannabis knowledge and how to properly use it is a mystery to many. Matt takes the mystery out of medical cannabis use. If you are going to visit the Novel tree give Matt a chance to help you with your medical cannabis needs. You won't be disappointed. I am sure everyone who works at the Novel Tree is very good, however, Matts knowledge of medical cannabis usage is current and educational which is why I wait to see him. I have learned a great deal from Matt about the medical use of cannabis for my own illness. The Novel Tree also has one of the most, if not the most extensive selections of medical cannabis I have ever seen. The shop is clean and well run, and the people working reception always make you feel like your time is important...I have the highest regard for the Novel Tree and its staff. This is an incredible store. Prices are good, still more than street price, but a lot cheaper than other stores and the quality is impeccable. Plus you're supporting a local growing industry. It's a win win! The store looks humble from the outside (it's just like any other strip mall store front), but is warm and welcoming on the inside, helped in large part by beautiful and omnipresent dark wood. The great decor is also supported by a knowledgable and very friendly staff. For someone who doesn't know one strain from the next and having had a major injury this online order in-store pickup makes zero sense to me. Not only that they are rude. Lack of disabled access to except from a distance is humiliating. I sincerely hope these clowns go out of business. I went to Origins in Redmond where they practiced social distancing with care and I could ask all the questions I wanted. Plus I looked at the prices, and Origins were consistently $10-$15 cheaper. I don't wish Ill of any business, but these clowns deserve to go under but I suspect they won't. They are rude and don't give a damn about their customers. Go to Origins in downtown Redmond. You can buy in the medical side without a card, and they tend to at least pretend to be more knowledgeable about the various effects of the products there. Good on vaping products, tinctures and a variety of other things. Expensive. Not a bad option if you don't want the stoner culture of a lot of other dispensaries. read more
