First of all, I just want to say a BIG thank you for being so generous and offering federal employees a free meal during the shutdown. It's a token of appreciation that goes a long way after going a month or so without a paycheck. This was my first time at the Nosh Cafe, and I called in an order for a Grilled Turkey Club sandwich. This is a small bagel sandwich shop. The food was delicious, but we had to wait for our food and coffee for a while. They lost our coffees and had to remake them. I hadn't left a review because I have usually been so pleased and didn't bother. The last few months, the quality has gone from more disappointing to disgusting. We always order the same thing, yet it was so gross that I couldn't eat much because something tasted off. I have never been so grossed out in my life to eat a pancake. The past few times, the girl at the front was rude when we picked it because she often does not give the butter or syrup. We've gotten home with our order 4 times and she's forgotten it. We ask her at the register to put it in, and she has rolled her eyes, scoffed, and was argumentative about even putting syrup in the bag. For obvious reasons, I am reluctant for her to open the bag to check, but I knew it wouldn't be there because she never puts it in. Today was no different, but she was tacky and snappy when we asked for those things that come with a pancake order. Even like that, we like the food. Today... they put a chicken salad on a bagel (nasty because of the dish itself even though I know some people like that stuff), but we ordered the South Mountain Burro and a pancake. There was no burro and my pancakes were DISGUSTING. The point is, we would NEVER order that bagel. My husband hates bagels! I opened my pancake box and found two pancakes, which was perfect since my husband didn't have food now because they gave us a nasty chicken salad bagel instead of a burro. We both started eating the pancakes and after 1 bite, I spit it out because it was pure batter on the inside. He stopped and looked at his and found the same thing. They were super thick in the middle, snd the bottom side of his was overcooked. It was still raw. I hope we don't get sick. Update: WE GOT SICK. Do NOT eat here. If the front of the house is this jacked up, I imagine a disgusting kitchen since it's obvious nobody oversees these teenagers. Recommendations: -Retrain the girl in the front with customer service (or do something at least to address her rudeness and lack of any basic customer service skills) and find out what's going on in your restaurant. -Check on what is happening in your kitchen because I have been a loyal customer for 2.5 years and will NOT be returning. -Manage your restaurant properly. read more

I can completely thank Yelp App for this great find, I was way too early to head into work and wanted some breakfast and not from a fast food chain, so I looked what was in the area and found the Nosh Cafe so off I went. When I got there it had a little line, but don't worry, it moves sort of fast, while waiting in line I checked out the menu board and saw they had a lot going on, that I want to try it all, but I had to limit my choice to just one this time around. Now they have breakfasts off the grill and breakfast sandwiches, so I knew the sandwiched sounded good, so I checked out the selection and went with the Ranchero on a jalapeno bagel and a large caramel latte. The Ranchero was egg, sausage, red onion & house made southwest cream cheese; it was a great breakfast bagel sandwich. Happy to had found Nosh Cafe, and saw they do lunch and its less than 2 miles from my work, so I can pretty much say I will be back again soon. read more

Forgot to get photos but I was sorely unimpressed with this cafe. Found it on Yelp while enjoying a nearby staycation. The bagel sandwiches were made by heating eggs and bacon in the microwave. This place is fairly small so I don't recommend a big crowd, if you bring one, the biggest table (if you can get it) seats 6 people and it is a high top. It is self seating after you place your order at the register, get your serving number and sit down. The patio.is dog friendly, so if you would like to being the fur babies, you can. Our visit, this particular time was, meh, okay. We placed our order, got our number and sat down. It was a cold morning so why they had the side door open so the cold air with a light, but artic breeze, could get in, I do not know. We live in Arizona so I will be honest, I am sensitive to the cold so maybe it felt nice to someone, but it was majorly uncomfortable for us. Luckily, shortly after sitting down, someone may have complained because one of the workers came and shut the door. We ordered 2 yogurt parfaits and a hot chocolate. A lady came out with one yogurt parfait, then wanted to take our number, having had this happen before, I didn't want her taking our number until we received the rest of our order so she asked, "Well, what else did you order?" We told her, "Another parfait and a hot chocolate." She looked down at her piece of paper and let out the biggest sigh. Went back. Came back with our other parfait about 10mins later. Took awhile to get the hot chocolate, which did not taste like hot chocolate. It tasted like... hot sugar water. The parfaits were good. The service was lacking but, understandably, I think it may have been because they appeared to be short staffed. Overall, meh. It was okay. We don't expect to come back anytime soon. read more

This was our first visit to The Nosh, and we really enjoyed it. I had a breakfast sandwich that consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese on a garlic bagel. They put a lot of bacon on the sandwich. It wasn't as crispy as I prefer, but I still enjoyed it. I also had an iced coffee, which was pretty good. The people in front of us in line seemed to have several questions, which made our wait a bit long but it also gave us a chance to really study the menu and choose which bagels we wanted so we knew exactly what we would be ordering once it was our turn. I love The Nosh! Has been a staple here in Ahwatukee for a while now. I believe it has changed owners a few times since it first opened, but the current owners are doing a great job! Very friendly, welcoming staff. I went there today, just after the morning rush and they seemed very genuine in saying hello and wishing me a great day. I love the coffee and I love that coffee at these family owned places is usually better than the chain places and also less expensive. Score! They have a great selection of bagels and cream cheese, breakfast and lunch sandwiches. My favorite sandwich is the Nosh Veggie! Stacked with fresh veggies that really make the bagel sandwich quite refreshing. Depending on my mood I may get it on a Jalapeno Cheese bagel, or Wheat, or Sesame, or, well, you get the point. The best part is getting the Garlic Feta Dill cream cheese with all those veggies! My mouth is watering right now!! The food here is barely above 3 stars, more like 3.5. I've rated this place a 4 for reasons I'll list a little later. I like independent breakfast joints. They usually have something special or different that the big chains lack. Like I said, the food here is generally 3.5-level. There are a lot of microwaves here. But it bumps up to a 4 for a the following: the bacon here is thick and good, the coffee was also solid, they have hash browns that are served crispy, and they have the "Not So Common" - a plate with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and an order of biscuits and gravy. I've never seen this combo at any other place as a plate, and it's $8. It's almost all my favorite breakfast foods on a single plate, and this alone almost warrants the bump to 4 stars. The pancakes here are average. The hashbrowns taste average. The biscuit was ok. Ordered a plain bagel, untoasted, with cream cheese. Can't even compare this thing to NYC or Montreal or some other bagel joints - it was not that good. BUT, all those things listed above, bring up the rating. read more

Absolutely a disappointing experience. I'm not usually one to complain but this really got to me. I went there expecting to have a delicious bagel breakfast sandwich. That is usually the case and worth the 8 mile drive. As we walked in this morning there were only 2 bagels left and not a flavor of choice. I ordered one bagel with peanut butter spread and a custom breakfast sandwich on sourdough (since they were out of bagels) egg, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeno cream cheese. We get home to a bagel with butter and a breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese. I dont know if it was the 2 girls in the front fighting the whole time which caused the confusion on the order or just bad luck. But to mess up the whole order not acceptable. Service is always so-so here. The coffee is just alright--I usually stop somewhere else first if I'm craving caffeine. However the bagels are delicious and HUGE. I usually cut them in half otherwise I'm uncomfortably full. Make sure to get your bagel toasted--if you don't, it'll taste super doughy. Just tried this place yesterday & I am in love. I ordered a cheese bagel with sweet habanero spread. It was the yummiest thing ever!! I sadly didn't get to try it until I got to work and by then it was cold but still delicious. It was so good I went back this morning and ordered it again! This time I ate it on my way to work. So yummy when it's warm and toasty! I will probably be back tomorrow and will try to make myself try something new. There are a lot of options! While I am in love with the bagel, the coffee was just meh. One review on here mentions that the mocha is better than Starbucks. I would have to disagree. Tried the latte today and was also not impressed. I like my coffee to be more on the sweet side though. Also the older woman who is mentioned in another review is just as you described: short with words and grumpy. It's kind of a turn off but when the bagel is that good I will put up with it! I don't like the debit card machine and the place to tip. I feel obligated to tip every time because they just look at you waiting for your response. It was pretty busy, but food came out timely, the restaurant was super clean, and the staff was very friendly. But most importantly, the food was soo good! We have been going here for quite sometime now. Service is usually decent. Food is always made to order. However there's recently been a shift. Went this past weekend, husband ordered a breakfast quesadilla, my daughter and I both ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich. Husband's food came out within 10 mins. He finished his food and we went and checked on ours. Said they were still making it. Ok fine. They had a consistent line. 37 mins later, THIRTY SEVEN, yes, we get up to ask again if our food is going to be ready soon. It finally comes out. I'm sorry but a bagel sandwich shouldn't take 47 mins. Not when we see tables around us getting food before us and they sat after us. Not to mention, our table plus 3 other tables around us said their food order was wrong! And because they were "busy", everyone opted to just keep whatever they got, as did we. It's too expensive to eat out anymore. Your order should be right and the workers who were running the food just shrugged their shoulders and said ok instead of trying to make it right. They clearly need more training. And yes, everyone is "short staffed" but not here. I saw they had plenty of help! Tons of people behind the counter and in the back. They need to work to train their employees. Orders are wrong left and right and a bagel sandwich taking almost 50 mins. is a bit excessive. Happy a small business is thriving but c'mon. This place is amazing! I wish one was closer to me. I would stop here everyday before work. I visited The Nosh on a Saturday. And fell in love with all the bagel selection. The service was fast and the crowd of people drew me in. I ended up with a breakfast bagel that had eggs/bacon and cheese. It was amazing! I thought they would only put like 2slices of bacon. They loaded my bagel with bacon and I was in Heaven. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is very nice. One staff even came from behind the counter to help me hunt down some grape jelly that had ran out. I recommend this place to everyone! I hope they expand the business! Great environment, friendly service, and good prices. I got the The Cheerful Breakfast which is 1 egg, hash browns, 1 pancake, and bacon, sausage link, ham. I'm not a big fan of ham so I go it with Bacon, a side of Sausage, and an extra egg with cheese. Everything was amazing. The Pancake was one of the best I've ever had, only downfall for me was the butter. It had walnuts mixed in which is creative but I'm not a big fan of nuts. But the butter was very flavorful and after I scraped off the but I was good to go. This was my first time here and the menu had a lot of great options. But my first time places I try to stick with something traditional, if they mess that up I won't be back for the complex or special. I recommend it to everyone ASAP! Obsessed!!! I love the fact that this is a neighborhood coffee bar and restaurant that has everything you need to fulfill your tummy. Food: I get a bagel sandwich with bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel with chive cream cheese, melts in your mout!! The bagel is doughy but yet has a firm texture on the outside reminds me of an authentic New York bagel. My kids love the breakfast grilled cheese with sausage egg and cheese. It's extremely cheesy yet the bread is perfectly toasted. Think of a panini and grilled cheese met at breakfast and had a baby. Lastly let's talk about the coffee!!! Perfectly balanced, aromatic notes and strength. For a coffee drinker like myself who prefers my coffee just black straight up it as the perfect flavor. Had my first experience this morning at Nosh Cafe. Early breakfast on the patio. They had just opened for the day, my breakfast was excellent, coffee tasty, my only knock was they don't seem to give new customers a run down on how service works. Nobody told me you get your own coffee, I ordered at the counter and waited outside for my breakfast. When it was delivered I asked if I could get a set up and was told it's all right behind you, pointed it out and walked away. And I sat waiting for a coffee refill and finally walked in and asked how much for a refill, it's free she responded. Well, that's NOT attentive customer service. It seems to be a solid neighborhood place and I'm sure the regulars know the routine, but I'd suggest the owners teach staff to inquire if it's the customers first time in and give them a pleasant run down on how it all works. So this place used to be decent but in the past month it should be featured in an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares." Went in there about 3 weeks ago, and saw this mean woman, who I believe is the owner of this place, yelling at one of her young workers in front of all their customers. Get a grip of yourself lady, and be professional business owner. You thought you were being a proper boss? Nope you were just making yourself look like a clown in front of your values customers! Anyway, I thought I might give the place another try recently and ordered a bagel sandwich and a biscuits and gravy to go. When I got back home and opened up my breakfast, there was a strand of longer black hair stuck to the cheese of my egg bagel sandwich! Ewww. I almost dry heaved before I even had a bite!
