    Mushroom ravioli

First time going here was a bit of a disappointment. Restaurant is charming, they have inside & outside seating. We understand places are short staffed but we waited an hour & 10 min for nachos & their Thai chicken app... when we inquired the waitress said the chef burned them & had to remake.. ok but we ordered more than one app.... Bartender was quick & drinks were fantastic. The mushroom ravioli was fantastic!! Unfortunately the sirloin it was sitting in a pool of water (see for yourself in the picture) from the veggies. The communication between our waitress & us was very poor. In fact the other waitress and busboy were more attentive. 3 hours for apps & dinner is a bit long..

Here's my review: GET THE WINGS! There are lots of lovely things about the Norfolk Pub. The historic building has a distinctly tavern vibe. The setting is gorgeous; leave time to sit or walk in the back, it's quite picturesque. We sat at a high top near the window in the bar and it was very relaxed and homey. Our server was lovely and offered great advice about both the menu and the wine list. My husband really enjoyed his cold slaw (the side he got with his burger), my son loved his turkey sandwich called The Rachel, and my Santa Fe salad was really good (large, a good mix of crunch, enough zesty bits, and good dressing). However, the wings were next level. I mean really, really good. They were big. They were cooked to perfection. We all agreed that if we had known how good they were going to be, we would have ONLY HAD WINGS ! ! ! They were THAT good. If I could only rate the wings, it would give them 5 stars!

    Veal & shrimp mediera

Great restaurant in the town of Norfolk. A picturesque location that offers delicious pub food and more. Plenty of craft beer options, daily specials all looked amazing. I tried the veal and shrimp mediera and also sampled the pasta bolognese. Both were delicious! You can tell this is a scratch kitchen. The burgers coming out of the kitchen looked awesome! I will try a burger on my next visit. If you are in the area this place will not disappoint. Friendly staff/service and delicious food.

So I had a lovely experience for lunch here - high end food in a uniquely refurbished location. The French Dip sandwich was very good, a lot of dip (at least for me, but I don't use that much to begin with) and simple french fries. A nice break from steak fries though. It was very clean, our server was very friendly, and if something is going on at Infinity Music Hall parking is a challenge. My party was a little disappointed (and I left early, so I did not see) that they don't offer coffee or dessert for lunch; at least, none was offered on the day of our visit.

Salads were tasteless and verging on being stale. Waiters (probably summer staff) were earnest but not very competant.

They are nestled near some trees and has a very nice outdoor area. We went on a Saturday night when it was busy, but the service was excellent. There was enough outdoor seating on the patio and front of the building. They had live music and a food truck which was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed that they had table service outside rather than having to go back into the bar. The server was very attentive. He made some small talk, which was nice and not too over bearing. Now the important part- the beer! We decided to get flights since we only find ourselves in the north west part of the state a few times of the year. I tried the fruited Shandy, an IPA, the black IPA and the porter. I am throughly impressed by all. The shandy was so refreshing- nice for a summer day. The IPA was hoppy (as always) and a little sweet so it was refreshing also. The Black IPA tasted more like a coffee porter but I was a fan! The porter was also very good, I liked it more than the Black IPA. Had a little more body. I definitely look forward to visiting this place again!

The kitchen is open and does not have ventilation so we were stuck all night sitting in an environment with burnt food (probably toast) smell. The smoke was heavy and made eyes water. Anyone with a sense of providing comfort to the guests would have at least opened the door. You get what you pay for. The food was mediocre to say the best. Very strange to have such a lovely environment and serve such uninteresting food in a burning food smell environment. I was really shocked. Apparently, one of the owners is from NYC - they would shut the place down with the lack of ventilation. Pity! Could have been a super cool and lovely place. - Eyes still burning. Something about the building is familiar. An old McDonald's building, painted & reimagined. But the shape, the floors match the McDonald's from the memory of your youth. They've upgraded the vibe to be "upscale fast food", comfortable & chic booths, a beautiful fireplace I'd love to cozy up near in the winter, a stunning bathroom. The menu is calculated, purposeful: local ingredients from farms & local suppliers listed on a chalkboard, seasonal elements utilized to create fresh, mindful meals. There's a burger, a chicken sandwich, mushroom melt, steak, seasonal salads. Their burger is juicy, well-structured, perfectly seasoned. Their tallow fries are the perfect amount of crisp and fluffy interior, truly delicious--a hand cut fry that fast food could nevahhhh accomplish. We loved the grilled peach, heirloom tomato & burrata salad. It was fresh, drizzled with balsamic and oil, peppered with togarishi. There were three workers there: all of whom greeted us warmly, made us feel like family. You can watch the chef, Nate, whipping up your food right behind the counter, locked in and serious about providing you with a supreme experience. Austin, one of the owners, rolled out the dough used for the fresh buns. We witnessed the makings of our meal, every step, right in front of our eyes. My only complaint is I don't live in millerton, and I know I will crave this meal time and time again. I wish I could be right down the road, when a burger craving consumes me. But trust that I will be back to visit & to try their other seasonal options, as well as breakfast and dinner. Thank you team for a wonderful experience!

EXPERIENCE; What did come as a surprise to me was the popularity of this rural tavern on a fall Friday evening and the quality of food and service experienced. Jason P. had reported excellent fish and chips, noteworthy wings, and selection of local beers at the tavern in his review. I ordered the fish and chips alongside the server's suggested Norbrook Farm-brewed Mount Pisgah IPA. The fish and chips dish ($20) was as Jason had described -- "TOP TIER". I look forward to exploring the menu further (although it will be hard to pull me away from the fish and chips). Kudos to the tavern's Head Chef Austin Ouelette and his crew! AMBIANCE: There are three dining areas -- an outdoor patio, a newly renovated, modern dining room, and the original dining room filled with colonial-inspired furniture. TIP: Parking lot size was insufficient the Friday evening I visited, necessitating parking on the shoulder of State Route 20 . This possibility may be circumvented via a visit on an earlier weekday. The tavern is open to visitors and inn guests Wednesday through Sunday.

The service is great, but since it's a pretty small place the waitresses might be pretty busy so just be patient. With that said, seating is fairly limited on a busy Friday/Saturday night or if they are having a special for dinner, so definitely make reservations! We came for late lunch on Saturday and it was fairly quiet. Needless to say, since it's off the beaten path we sometimes forget this gem is here but when we remember we never regret it!
