Phil's Driving School is the best! Highly recommended. Joined the 8 hours Safe Driving class, and…read moresome lessons with Gary. Everything is cool, easy, they are nice and helpful. Gary is a great instructor, professional and very kind, the driving lesson was smooth and fun with him. He helped me a lot, explained what needed and answered my questions. Best driving school in CT :) !

I would not recommend this school. It has been a frustrating and disappointing experience from…read morestart to finish. The instructors are unreliable. On multiple occasions, we were left waiting for over 45 minutes because of poor communication or lateness. There is no proper office system, everything is handled through text messages, and you only seem to get a response when it's time to make a payment. We tried to get information about my child's classes starting in October, but no one followed up until January, and even then the information was vague and unhelpful. Because of this lack of guidance, my child ended up having to retake all the classes. Shortly after, we received an email saying students were not completing the correct work, which reflects poorly on the school's organization and instruction. To make matters worse, after paying $650 for classes and an additional $125 for the road test, we were surprised to find out we still had to pay the DMV $84 for the license. The school did not clearly explain that their fee only covered the use of their car and administering the test. Overall, the lack of communication, disorganization, and hidden costs made this a very negative experience. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

I'd been getting the MAE catalogs in the mail for ages and would throw them right into the…read morerecycling pile. I'd roll my eyes and think "I'm done with college, so why would I need this?" while happily tossing them. A couple of years ago, one ended up on the dining room table and I mindlessly started flipping through it. That was when I realized that they offer arts and crafts classes! Well, that was a game changer for me. I had never even heard of zentangle or needle felting, but when I read the descriptions, I was intrigued. My first class was Zentangle in 2015 and I had a great time learning this fun & easy drawing technique. I swore that I would continue it, but long story short, it didn't happen. Then in 2016 I took my first needle felting class with Elena Gibson and have taken 3 more since. I've made all kinds of critters, like foxes, a bunny, pig, squirrel and most recently, a troll for Halloween. I never would've tried it on my own, but with Elena's skillful and patient guidance, I found it to be easy and really fun to learn. The classrooms that I've visited are very clean and spacious and the locations of the classes are posted on an easel in the lobby, so it couldn't be easier to figure out where to go. Plus the location on Main Street is super convenient. My only complaint is that we have to pay the class fee beforehand, as well as an additional material fee in class. I find it to be a hassle having to investigate how much the fee is and then trying to remember to bring cash that day. I just wish there was a way to pay for the whole fee upfront. Other than this very minor complaint, I do enjoy taking classes here and plan to expand my horizons to other arts or crafts at some point in the future.
