This was a stop on our Nerja/Frigiliana Tour. Just minutes away from the City Center.
We were lucky as we visited during off peak in December so practically had it all to ourselves. We started with the Virtual immersive experience which was about 15 minutes. It was a good introduction going back 35,000 years before our Tour.
The sinkhole leading to the Caves was discovered by four friends in 1959. One way path for the Audio Guided tour. About an hour to walk through and be prepared for a good amount of stairs throughout. Temperature was mid to upper 60s Fahrenheit. So a light jacket or sweater is good to have.
Breathtaking stroll when you consider the various columns (billed to have the biggest Cave columns in the world) and the cave has been around for 40,000 years.
The Lady that was in the Virtual Experience area was very helpful and engaged. The amount and shapes of the Speleothems are amazing. Most definitely worth a visit and would highly recommend. read more
