So my neighbor and I have been trying out different churches within our community and this was one…read morewe tried today. To be fair there is 3 different locations for this church. We went to the new location on Scarborough. It seemed to be their grand opening as they did many prayers over the church building itself. The church environment itself is not welcoming. It has very harsh LED lighting and frankly gave mega church vibes. Especially the way the speakers would yell off and on at the audience even during prayer. There are no bulletins or even bibles which makes sense as they never referenced Bible except a prayer from Psalms a pastor read. Literally the only books there were for sale or were free with a suggested donation. Personally I bring my own bible and journal however, it really struck my elderly neighbor.. Mario Marillo was a guest speaker today. He spoke about politics and church critics and made a ton of jokes. He was very personable and interactive with the audience which people enjoyed. That being said I left here today with no message; not even a morsel of scripture to ponder on. He very much promoted his book, Pastor Kelly promoted a new movie, and they invited everyone to return in the evening to witness miracles being preformed. Mario lengthily spoke about how important the chairs were that we were sitting it because, people who are in them or could be in them need to hear the word of God and come surrender themselves to Jesus. Yet frankly gave no message of the word of God or why people should surrender themselves. I left feeling like I had not even been to church. Was a very odd experience and my neighbor felt the same claiming his rating is a 2.5 out of 5 stars. It felt like a Christian comedy show poking fun at politicians and their charismatic ways of speaking.

I wonder why my review was flagged and removed. I'll post it again and ask the church not to flag my review just because they don't want others to see that they are ignoring scripture in the area explained below. I like almost everything about this Church. I am looking for a Church home after recently moving close by. The one thing I'm having a lot of trouble with is the fact that Radiant Church is apparently ignoring scripture in a certain area. I'll start off first by saying that the message today was from a guest pastor. He was very good. He spoke about how America is changing and how some Christians are buying into a "new world order". He emphasized how God's word NEVER changes and there is a problem with believers following a "comfortable form of the gospel". Well, this problem appears to have surfaced in Radiant Church as well. They are ignoring scripture which makes it quite clear that women shall not have spiritual authority over men. A woman is not permitted to teach (1 Timothy 2:12). There are several mentions of this in the Bible that explain that women shall not take this role within a Church. I know this may be a touchy subject in this modern world, but the Bible is so clear on this. Radiant Church has a lead male pastor and a female 'co-pastor'. The Bible specifically prohibits women from being a leader in a marriage or a Church. This is not just my 'interpretation' of scripture. There is simply no other way to honestly interpret this language in the Bible. It appears that feminism has infiltrated the church. There are many women who are searching passages to justify a female preacher, but you will never find any women preachers in the Bible. They point to women like Priscilla and Phoebe. There is no doubt that these were godly women who helped advance God's kingdom, but there is nowhere in Scripture where it says that either of them pastored a church. They didn't contradict the Scripture. They witnessed to others, and they obviously served an important role within the kingdom. Women can teach children. They can teach other women. There are several things they are biblically authorized to do. But this does not include being a pastor in a church. This is wrong. Because of their decision to allow a female pastor, I have to find a Church who will not ignore this scripture. Such a shame because I really like everything else about this Church.

Everyone was super happy to be there and most certainly friendly. Really was impressed by the overall message. Really loved the pastor's consistency with how he read directly from the Bible and had it up on the screen. All the slides flowed seamlessly with his sermon. Loved his breakdown of certain words in their original format this case happened to be Greek. The music was very nice however, I do feel the constant flowing of the fog machine to be a bit much. This church has a ton of options of community outreach, small groups, and areas to serve it made my heart happy. I will be returning again! I did browse the other reviews and I feel it's important to note one of the lady musicians did stop in between songs and had a little message and prayer for everyone in the audience. So I am not sure what others experienced here previously but I saw no reason to believe anyone is treating women as second class citizens who should be seen and not heard. The pastor even gave a clap off to his female assistant in the middle of his sermon..

When I walked into the church, I immediately noticed the friendly and welcoming faces. The sermons are amazing--they teach straight from the Bible. The worship is uplifting, and you can truly feel the Holy Spirit moving in this church. I attended a service, and the very next week I was baptized. I've been attending ever since, and I have found a true church family at Pike Peak. They have been so supportive in my walk with Christ. If you are new in your faith or unsure of what church to attend, Pike Peak Christian Church is an amazing place to go. They have services at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. They also offer kids' services and a program called Shine for children with special needs during the 9:30 and 11:00 services.
