This is the best cheesecake I've ever had, I will definitely come back for more. Very nice texture, thick frosting and amazing crust.

This is going to be a two-part review. For Boardman, Ohio, this is an awesome coffee shop. There are very few locally-owned places around and this is the only place I actually saw young people in my entire week stay here. They have a HUGE menu, a huge food and pastry selection, and very cheap prices. Apparently they also have live music occasionally, so that's pretty cool. I was told it's a pretty popular hang out when school is in session too. For any other place in the world or any person that knows anything about coffee: they don't know what a french press is and their recipe for a mocha is a shot of espresso and chocolate milk...that's what you're dealing with. All the frappucinos are made with chocolate milk for some reason. So. It's slightly incompetent, uninspired coffee. However, the chai milkshake is AWESOME and the prices are really cheap--but you're definitely getting what you're paying for. read more

A good solid 4 of 5 stars. The one in Warren/ Niles is better, just because the location a refurb end fire house, is so cool. Hade the garlicky fried chicken. Breast wing thigh leg, side of mashed with chicken gravy, and a cool salad. Oh and a bowl of corn. All sides average good. But the chicken was great! And I mean crispy crunchy garlicky (but not too garlicky) great! The wife had steak salad. Which she liked but I personally find is a waste of stomach space, let's get back to MY food. The chicken was best I have had in years. Remember years ago, when every restaurant used to sell what they called honey dipped deep fried chicken? Restaurant secret... They all got it from a deep freeze, package of four chicken pieces that had a honey based glaze that when fried correctly was crunchy delicious. This reminded me of that, except mocha house does most prep in house, so I am betting the chicken was prepped in house. If not, don't care. It was crunchy, no grease at all, and had a great garlick taste. They don't have the veal parm anymore, which made me cry a little. Prior review I wrote for this place raved about the veal parm. Forget it. Do have eggplant and chicken parm, don't care, want veal parm or no parm at all. Deserts are all still GREAT so buy a slice, buy a pie! Skip any place else, get your pies and cakes here! Prices are great. One last thing.... You order at the counter, you get a numbered table tent, and they bring the food out to you. ONE BAD THING wife had fries, and the cook did not time the food right, so wife had to send them back. On plus side waitress was GREAT (Olga) and took it in stride and got wife fresh fries, or cook just reheated the same fries. Don't care. But still only people in store so c'mon cook, time your food correctly. But, minor whining aside, I really like this place. They have different types of good and GREAT deserts. Sick of all these places that just sell wraps, burgers, and five dollar hot dogs. Eat at Mocha House, Boardman (behind Red Lobster on 224) or the one in Warren/Niles. This was one of my favorite places to eat. However today, my wife and I each ordered a burger, fries and an iced tea. You are asked to tip when paying, I did tip, 20% for good service + 3.5 surcharge for paying with a card. I could have handled the $35 bill if it weren't for the 30 minute wait time and the waitress throwing our food on the table and asking if we needed anything else with her back turned and walking away. We used to only come here for the best cakes and pies. We then discovered their food! My favorite is the eggs benidict and home fries. Coffee is decent and service is pretty fast for how busy they get. This is my Saturday morning breakfast place. You won't be disappointed. read more

The mocha house is a jack of all trades. They have a lot of options if that's what you're into. The desserts are pretty good. I've purchased a few cakes for birthdays from here and they were always crowd pleasers. One thing I don't like about this place is their lack of nondairy options with certain drinks. The tittle makes you feel like you could enjoy a cup of delicious coffee but the lack of options keeps me going somewhere else. The vibe is very chill if you Like atmosphere. Mocca House has an appealing website, but well, sorta didn't deliver when I was there. From the website one can get visions of healthy breakfasts and "gourmet teas" (their words!). As you read the below, realize I'm the type that uses leaf teas and roasts his own coffee and has a commercial espresso machine plus vacuum pots for teas and coffee in my kitchen. When you arrive, you will find it tucked into the middle of a long strip mall, so parking is no issue. As you approach the front of the store, there are two small tables on the outside, so if you had ideas of being outside and enjoying the weather, better get lucky or get there early. We got there around 9AM on a Sunday and those tables were full until we left around 11:45. When you walk in, there is probably a dozen or more small tables around the ordering and serving area. The first thing that hit me walking into the store was "JEEEZZZZ! Look at the menu!!". Well, I should have said menu(s). There were probably seven dry erase boards side by side full of handwritten items. Heavens to eye test - and I hadn't had any caffeine yet. We were looking for a small healthy breakfast, and after standing in line for five minutes staring up trying to find something, gave up and "just ordered tea". Let's see, part of the teas are over there on "that dry erase", and some more are over here on "this dry erase", and there are some more over there too. Why not just put all the teas together? I don't know, there must be logic to it that is beyond me and my physics degree to figure out. So, we ordered two different teas. Out came two small prepackaged paper pouches (ala lipton tea style) that went into a small cup and got 'hot' water poured over them. Not even a sealed foil pouch. Forget leaf tea and a strainer. And I say 'hot' as it was more like warm. Warm flavorless Ginseng Honey Green "gourmet" Tea, eh? Meh They did come back to our table a couple of times and asked if we'd like more hot water poured over our used tea bag. "Eh, let me think about that for a second - No." The tables are rather close together, so unless you are talking in a low voice, you are going to be overheard by the folks sitting around you at other tables. I don't think I'd stop here again. There is a (I can't believe I'm going to say this) Starbucks across the street. At least I know I have a good chance of getting fresh fruit, yogurt, and a decent hot tea there. Now with that being said, if you want a limited breakfast menu and and a grocery store style tea bag in not hot water, and don't mind those around you hearing your conversation, you might give this three or maybe four stars. Love love love the Mocha House! Have been here many, many times. Always love to stop by when I am in town. Their tiramisu is my absolute favorite. They have such a delicious and beautiful dessert display and the cost is very reasonable. You can't go wrong with anything you pick. I also really like their white chicken chili. They have a great variety of coffee options too. I really like their brown sugar cinnamon latte. It has always been one of my favorite coffee drinks that I have ever gotten. Having lived in Youngstown for a few years now, I waited to write a review on this place...because I couldn't pinpoint my thoughts on the place. Now that its been a few years I realize the appearance of the place was keeping me away, almost always ordering takeout. I'm excited I saw a few signs posted about a remodel last week that I think this place is aching for...if you can look past the brown booths and tables the food deserves more than a fair chance. Hoping the remodel will bring the surroundings up to par with the food, thus attracting more customers (I'll even bring my out of town guests here!) Coffee/Espresso Drinks - High on the sugar so ask for less pumps of whatever flavoring. I sometimes indulge in the Milky Way Latte that can turn a grey day Ohio frown upside down! But my go-to is still Starbucks...just because of consistency of taste. Food - Good "diner" food...in my mind its replacing the Silver Diner's of bigger cities but with a lot more hometown feel. The White Chicken Chilli is delish and breakfast here is basic but hearty. Dessert - this is where those 4 stars are coming from. Every. Single. Cheesecake is DELICIOUS and not in a commercial way. My favorite right now? The Mocha House - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Boardman, Ohio

This place was a pleasant little surprise that we stumbled upon while staying in the PA/Ohio area this past weekend. There are very few locally owned shops in this particular part of OH so I really had to seek this place out. I was only here for breakfast but everything we tried was excellent. The oatmeal, omelets/scrambled eggs, hash browns, breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon buns, etc were all very good and seemed pretty fresh. They had a lot to choose from for breakfast and all of the baked goods looked scrumptious. I also tried their chai tea latte and that was very tasty. They offer a variety of teas and coffee drinks so it really is a one stop shop. They also offer lunch and dinner. The prices are beyond reasonable (5 bucks will get you 2 eggs, toast and hash browns) and the staff was very friendly. I think Mocha House definitely stands out among the other chain restaurants in this area and I will definitely return when I am back visiting family. read more

We are moving to the area soon as we "auditioned" the Mocha House on a recent visit to Poland. They passed with flying colors! I was a little skeptical of ordering at the counter rather than table service but the food blew away any reservations that I had. Friendly service, plenty of coffee refills and great breakfast! This place, what can I say: it hasn't changed one bit in 15 years. I worked here just out of high school and they've invested the little to no money into keeping the place up. Ok they have some newer chairs. Their latte tastes burnt or charred. Sure there's only 4 other places to get a latte but still, you've been the local coffee shop for a long time. Pastries and cakes are the real deal though. Funny the pastry enclosure is not lit yet there's an empty case that is fully lit next to it. You can barely see the delicious pastries within because of coffee cup clutter on top. Torani syrups are the same from when they opened because who on earth is getting kiwi flavor in their drink? White board menus look like you're running a gyro shop on a college campus. Must be making money though. Legendary Trumbull/Mahoning county spot. In terms of a traditional restaurant, you'd be hard pressed to find a better desert selection around here. Actually, if anyone knows of any please let me know. The mocha house just brings it in terms of dessert. Any cheesecake imaginable, and they're all top notch. Seriously, you can't go wrong. You can spend 10 minutes deliberating on the cheesecake you want. They also offer other treats that also bring it. This place is worth checking out for the dessert selection alone. In terms of actual food, it's the same story. For my money, the mocha house has one of the best sleeper burgers around. You wouldn't expect this place to have a great burger, but it most certainly does. And the French fries are incredible. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Just very, very good. I've had omelettes here that are incredible, and club sandwiches that do the trick. This place is anything but a one trick pony. Lengthy menu, and they're all bangers. Such a wonderful local hang out. The coffee and lattes are always on point and the menu is large. Situated in the same plaza as Marc's, it's a great place to find college students studying, old friends getting together or folks just sitting reading. This place has amazing coffee drinks as well as some amazing cheesecake options. All of the cheesecake I have tried is not only beautiful but also so delicious. The meals I have had have also been very satisfying for the price. The biggest issue I have is that when I go with friends and we pay separately, all of our food comes out to the table at very different times. It just makes eating out a bit awkward when some people have their meals completely finished or almost done before someone else at the table hasn't even gotten their meal yet. I'm not from Youngstown, but was traveling there for business and I usually make it my business to search out local flavor. I was pleasantly surprised with my cappuccino. I was also taken aback by the bakery case filled with tempting cakes. Since it was my husband's birthday back home, I decided to bring him a slice of baklava cheesecake. The server was very accommodating with my request for extra ice to help keep it cold for the way home.
