I really enjoy the Miracle Theater and highly recommend it. Anytime I go (typically for May the Fourth: Star Wars 'A New Hope' showing), it is well organized and feels like a real movies experience. The audience also are well behaved. I appreciate the cheaper than movie theater tickets and popcorn/ snacks being affordable. One complaint is do have is that they could keep the butter station more clean. It's less than 5 minutes walking distance away from Eastern Market Station

I haven't stopped raving about Miracle theater since my first visit. $8 tickets ($6 matinees iirc) and really convenient to get to! my bus route (C53) takes me from my house straight there, it's incredible. I love the variety of movies. I'm going to be controversial and say that Miracle beats Suns Cinema by a mile (aside from Suns bar, which, personally I don't need in order to have a great movie experience). Thank you Miracle Theater for existing !!!

I came here for Fever's Candlelight concert. The theater is very vintage. It has a very antique vibe, so keep that in mind. Overall it was a good venue for the show. I showed up early to ensure we got a good seat. They had popcorn and some drinks at the concession stand, but there were not cupholders which made having a drink kind of awkward. There was no recording during the show and staff were on top of it completely.

Image of the stage from the very back of the theatre. can still see the stage pretty well!

Went here for the monthly moth radio show. SO fun! the venue is delightful with great sound quality. The staff is friendly and they have many options for drinks!

Cozy little theater next to a ton of great restaurants. They do a lot of the candlelight shows here which are a ton of fun and great to bring the family or a date night.

Beautiful quaint theater in Southeast DC mixed in with rows of restaurants for pre and post show meals. There isn't a bad seat in the theater because it is so small. As soon as you enter the lobby, the auditorium is about 10 steps away. The seats were comfortable. I'm 5"8 and it didn't feel cramped. I sat on the far right side of the stage, aisle seat and had perfect view of the stage. The concession stand had limited options: popcorn and candy bars, wine in can, beer in can, bottled juices and water. There is street parking right outside the theater. I was lucky to snag one, even though I'd allowed 30 minutes to find parking...it's DC after all. So I had ample time before the Candlelight Tribute to Beyonce string quartet show started

What an adorable little theatre! I found it by accident trying to complete my Oscars watchlist and I'm so glad I did. It feels like stepping back in time when movies were new and exciting still. I got the ticket, popcorn, and a bottle of water for under $20. My only complaint is that the chairs could use some oiling. Anytime someone stood up during the movie, the seat part of the chair slammed shut and startled me out of the film. But otherwise I hope they continue to succeed!

Charmingly old-school venue, convenient location (near Eastern Market metro), creative programming, but a terrible lack of ladies' room. The Miracle, now 112 years old (!), is both a movie theatre and a concert venue. We came here for Listeso Quartet's candlelight concert; great atmosphere, great vibe. They sell popcorn and drinks too (a pleasant surprise). The lobby and staircase were decorated for Christmas. The glaring problem is a lack of facilities. Like at any theatre / concert venue, I am prepared to wait in line for the restroom, so my expectation was pretty low. The line here was formed in the crowded, small lobby, as there's no space inside the ladies' room to form a line. There are only two stalls inside, and one sink. The whole space is cramped, and it takes a lot of tip-toeing and ballet dancing to get around other girls. When it was finally nearly my turn (I was right at the door), a girl came out of the auditorium, pretended not to see the long line, and waltzed right past me into the restroom, just like that. Boom! It felt like being punched in the stomach when -- being stuck in the long and non-moving line -- I saw a huge banner, in golden letters, saying GENTLEMEN, by a staircase going downstairs. As it turns out, there's a men's room downstairs, but not ladies' room. Upstairs, there's just this tiny ladies' room with two stalls. There's also another restroom but it's all genders, which men are using. That means men have way more access to the facility than girls. This is probably one of the worst venues in terms of potty parity.

First time here, for a Moth Story telling competition. As others have said the theater is long (deep) and narrow. I arrived late but managed to get a seat in the front row. Lucky me. The popcorn was good.

Not only is The Miracle Theater a great movie theater in Barracks Row, but it's also a great live concert venue! The concessions are very reasonably priced compared to some of the larger movie theater chains, and the popcorn is exactly what you want in a theater. The theater itself is very intimate for a concert setting, which creates a great vibe for smaller, more indie acts. The chairs are relatively comfortable, although probably not exactly what you'd expect in a movie theater. Aside from that, it's an all around great place to experience some live theater and only a block from the metro station--definitely worth a recommendation! *picture is from the Ry X concert on September 29, 2022*

The brick exterior coupled with the large white-walled interior provided the perfect "blank canvas" to backdrop our event. We hosted nearly 100 people and had plenty of room for a live band and bar. The reason this review earned three stars was because of venue management. An important aspect of North Hall is that they will not let you do any setup prior to the event unless you pay per hour. As an example: our event started at 5pm and we had to pay 500$ more to start setup at 3pm. The real issue arose when we were informed that we could not leave anything in a closet or kitchen in order to make the "day-of" prep easier. Management allowed absolutely nothing from entering or remaining in the space despite there being no event prior to our reception. On a positive note, the two hour setup window provided a testament to how amazing our vendors were; they created a beautiful space with no help from North Hall. The management induced plenty of undue stress by being unclear of what permits were needed for the event. They went on to remind us with little time to prepare. This issue manifested itself one week prior to our wedding day, where our wedding coordinator, my wife, and myself scrambled to get permits for food, alcohol, etc. Overall, North Hall is truly lovely, but future customers should be aware that this venue is fortified by the bureaucracy of Washington D.C. Much like your local trip to the DMV, illogical policies and the lack of regard for the individual reign supreme. Weddings are stressful and emotional, no one should have to deal with the inefficiencies of government and the shortcomings of bureaucrats on their special day.

We chose the North Hall because of the brick exterior, urban feel and large space -- big enough for 200 people. Weddings can be expensive and after an exhausted search we found that the North Hall was the best option. We are so glad we chose to host our wedding reception here! I would recommend this place for any business or social function. A few side notes: The parking was not a problem and the staff was extremely helpful. The bill is in some what of an a la cart format so try to get ALL the fees up front. Be sure to stick to the allotted timeframe so you don't have extra rental hour fees. Go with the bulb lighting! DJ Dan is the contract...they can provide the info.
