There is so much hype about this restaurant. It's close to Pechanga and huge. I mean Huge! Big parking lot and several eating rooms and a sit-down bar ( reminds me of Hussongs). We got seated and received complimentary chips and salsa. Our waiter was Ramon. We all ordered margaritas, they were huge. At a new Mexican restaurant ( for us) I usually order the carnitas plate. It's usually a flagship dish. I asked Ramon to make sure the carnitas is browned up and crispy. My wife ordered Taquitos and a side of rice and beans. My carnitas came out just regular cooked and very salty. I asked Ramon what happened and he said he forgot do you want to take it back and crisp it up. First off every one had thier food, so I said no forget about it. I ate a few bites and was overwhelmed by the saltiness of the carnitas....whew! As we were eating a server brought two more plates of tacos which we didn't order. Then Ramon brought the tacos back and said we ordered them. We told him no we did not. He was kind of weird about it. Not super impressed with the food or service. I would like to think that you could order a dish cooked how you want it and get it. read more

By the way. Beware of the obvious over the top fake positive reviews that are paid for or done by their friends. First of all we all went after golf. Spending a lot of money. We were not even being loud but the one employee came up and was rude and told us to be quiet. ( mind you it's the afternoon on. A Friday. The food is not even that good, but if you add to that bad attitude by the one man . Will not recommend to any of our Temecula friends or family. It's a shame to have someone running it that treats customers like this. The actual kids serving were nice. It was just a certain couple of people and I bet we're not the only ones this happened to. The margarita was so good! Loved each one! The mole is one of the best! The Sunday Brunch is the best in town! Highly recommend this restaurant! Stunning environment and great vibe! Location is close to freeway access and in a perfect spot that's easy to find. Plenty of parking and just a beautiful layout. Loved the high ceilings, large open front area and lots of seating inside. Waiting area has great seating with generous amount of room. The food....awesome! The service....exceptional! After driving by here at night when it's always so busy, I decided to come here for lunch. I liked that they had a lunch menu. I ordered the chicken taco salad and a water, no ice. The chips and salsa came out quickly. The salsa was was reminiscent of something from a jar, though I'm sure it wasn't. Maybe it was a cooked salsa. Either way, it was not my favorite. Then I got my chicken taco salad. There was a lot of shredded chicken on it. The only problem is the shredded chicken was very dry. I went to take a drink of my water and noticed it wasn't there. So I flagged down my server and a little while later, he brought my water, with ice. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing and should have had a lunch combo with tacos. Or maybe I should have ordered the salad with ground beef. Either way, I'm not sure I will be back. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants locally that I feel exceed the quality of this one. read more

I ordered cheese enchiladas and was served cheese enchiladas with refried beans inside! I also told them no beans just rice. I complained to the waitress, nothing was done! Oh my gosh! This place is AMAZING! My friend recommended this place and she hadn't even told us that is was buffet style. I'm really impressed with the restaurant (how clean it is) and the service was pretty good too! Thanks Panchito!! It's funny because I totally wanted a crepe and to my surprise there was a crepe stand waiting just for me ;) lol Everything was delish. There wasn't anything that I did not like. Spacious, very attractive place. Elaborate and really cool decorations for Halloween, great for families. I ordered a chili colorado burrito, wet. Friends ordered chili verde. Lots of food, you definitely get your money's worth, and it's very tasty. First basket of chips is complimentary, after that each basket is .99. We had breakfast here and the food was great, very authentic. My wife is very picky about her Mexican food and she enjoyed it. She had the huevos con chorizo and I had the huevos con salsa verde, both with rice and beans. The green sauce had large pieces of pork and had just amount of flavor and spice. Never been to this very busy restaurant in Temecula. - very big restaurant/ comfortable and neatly decorated for Halloween -staff was very friendly and attentive Accommodations were gladly handled. Hubby wanted salsa verde for his chips and was brought two yummy additional salsas. While tacos looked great, an amazing plate of fajitas walked by and determined our dinner for us! Fajitas was presented in a sizzling heap and looked delicious. Our side of all beans ( first order was miss sent to the table next to us and profusely apologized for) and tortillas, sour cream and guacamole were really tasty. I'm excited to share my experience with the Sunday Brunch buffet at The Mexico Cafe. My wife and I *love* coming here, and it's always our go-to spot when family from San Diego or LA comes to visit. The brunch buffet has everything you could want, plus a full bar. Some of my favorites from the buffet are the Mexican soups and stews, especially the pozole and menudo. I always start with a full plate of chilaquiles and then head to the omelette station to grab a few fried eggs to top it off. My wife is a big fan of the full taco bar and always praises their spiciest salsas. We occasionally opt for the bottomless mimosas, which are well worth the price and add to the fun brunch vibes. The staff here is awesome--attentive and friendly every time. We also love the building itself, with its Spanish-style architecture, high ceilings, and seasonal decorations. The carnitas and chile verde tasted like commercial Mexican food. Both were tough, chewy, and with little flavor. Beans and rice were good. The tortillas (corn) were also tough. Apparently the protien was from Sysco or another bulk vendor. I'd be surprised it was cooked from scratch. Price was reasonable. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. We were seated quickly. Our server Jeanette was super sweet, had a smile on her face the entire night. I ordered the meat tostada with chicken. Super refreshing to get a tostada without the big shell that I don't need to eat. Came here for the first time yesterday for lunch. Had the mango margarita to start with which was tasty and then the enchilada suiza with shredded chicken and rice and beans on the side. The food was good but needed a little more flavor and the rice was a bit dry and hard. We'll probably go back and try again.
