I learnt a new word today. "Steampunk, a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s."
The Manufactory is one kooky little space, as well as offering 'Steampunk' there is a range of 'Kitchenalia', 'Botanica' and 'Illuminations'. This essentially means vintage industrial goods of a more romantic or feminine nature. Its not the large stark industria that can also be classified as a dangerous weapon.
The shop is fronted with a vault like door that appears to be salvaged from the Titanic, opening to a quaint assortment of goods all lovingly displayed amongst medicine chests, antique dressers and shadow boxes.
The space is clean and bright and allows shoppers to visualise how recycled pieces can be utilised within their own living spaces. prices are on the higher end of the vintage spectrum, so average with other vintage/industria traders. read more
