I hate the Post Office so I am really glad The Mail Stop is so convienent and I don't have to ever go to the Post Office. I'm here several times a week and Michelle, the owner, is awesome. She is always trying to make sure I get things sent the fastest and cheapest way possible. She also has other things like cards, soda and candy bars there for sale which helps me with my mid afternoon slump. Very Disappointing. I will never come again. When I walked in, the cashier made me stand there for a few minutes while she had a personal conversation with another costumer. When finally helping me, the cashier left in the middle of helping me to service another customer that just walked in. It wouldn't have been so bad if the cashier hadn't mis-labled my packages sending them to the opposite locations. The idea is convenient, but if doesn't get the job done, then it is not worth it. Unfortunately, they want to charge a fee - for tape - to mail out a package that's already taped and had a label applied to it. I ship out a LOT of packages and know what I'm doing -the only time I need help with something is if it's something I don't normally handle or am out of time/running behind - in which case I don't mind paying for good service. However, I'm not going to pay a random extra $2 just for someone to add it to their pile of outgoing packages. The place is also quite messy and the woman behind the counter quite rude about the fee. She made it clear the fee was required even for packages that do not need taping. I was in the area and thought I'd get the errand quickly taken care of, but I walked back out with my package and waited until I could go to my regular shipping place, which doesn't have anti-customer practices such as this. I won't bother stopping in here again, and have warned my friends and family. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with The Mail Stop & Michelle regarding a package sent FedEx from her store, which was damaged in shipping and returned. I had a gift for family members and had carefully packaged it (I thought) for shipment. I completed the shipping form and indicated I wanted to insure it for $100. The glass on the picture frame was broken during shipping & my family did not accept the package upon advice of the FedEx delivery person. Since the gift was a surprise to my family members and Michelle uses her name and company as shipper, they had no idea the package was from me. I contacted Michelle about the returned package to let her know I would pick it up and found out that she had taken it upon herself to call my brother about the package because she said she "misplaced the form I completed" - I was so disappointed because the package was a surprise gift which I had told her about. She opened my package upon return to her store (since she uses her name & address as sender), and completed the FedEx claim form for the damages. When I picked up my package, she said the claim would be paid within the week. I called her about the insurance claim check, which she had received and since I live in Falls Church I asked that she mail me the check - she did for $100. It wasn't until after I had "remade" the gift and repackaged the 24' x 20" collage frame with the foam/gel motorcycle seat pad and paid for it to be sent FedEx again, that I realized I had not been reimbursed for the original FedEx shipping fees. I called Michelle and she denied they were due to me - she said they went to her to pay FedEx. The phone call ended and I went to the store a few days later, but she still could not understand that she would pay FedEx anyway - I should not pay twice since the claim was submitted. Michelle remarked that she had to be concerned about her bills and she even went so far as to say the things I had in the package were not worth the $100 I received! Where's the customer service here? She keeps the FedEx fees I paid and should be reimbursed because she needed to pay FedEx and I got more than I needed with the $100?????? OMG!!! She even tried to make me believe that she had to PAY for the FEDEX RETURN of the package - NOT SO! BEWARE of my experience and do not let it happen to you!! I'm still out $28!! read more

Sent items from this sight on December 24, 2014... received confirmation email saying it went. I waited knowing it would take time for the package to get to the location. Today, 01/21/2015 tried to track the item only to find it was undeliverable by the USPS as 12/26/2014. After tracing the package to find they classified the shipment incorrectly causing the package not to be able to leave the post office in Leesburg. The business would not take responsibility for it's incompetence and blamed the post office for 100% of the mistake! read more

Place looks more like a 5 and dime store than a shipping location. Not sure they know what they are doing at this location.

I used the location as a PMB to receive packages. Owner decided the volume of packages was "too high" and decided to charge a random fee of an extra $50 for me to be able to pick up my mail (out of the blue). The charge was not in any agreement or rental agreements given to us when opened box. It was just extortion cause she was holding our mail. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! STAY AWAY. read more

I was naive and did not realize that stamps could be marked up. The Mail Stop adds $3.20 onto the typical $9.80 for a book of stamps. When I asked about this price increase the cashier explained the reason for this in quite a disrespectful tone. I wouldn't mind a small increase in price to support local businesses, however, a 30% prince increase is not reasonable. I will not be visiting this store again. read more

I bought a few items from an auction house and needed them shipped to me of course. They were able to take my credit card over the phone and re-confirmed all my shipping information. Items arrived very quickly and were packed perfectly. Thank you! read more

Unfortunately, the convenience of this location is NOT WORTH IT! I love to support local business and have tried to do my shipping here several times... never once leaving pleased with my experience. Today was the final straw. I have been doing some serious eBay business lately and have shipped over 25 items within the last 2 months. I stopped in today to ship a pair of shoes explaining as I handed the box over that I just needed regular shipping, the cheapest way possible. According to Michelle, that turned out to be $19. When I asked how that price is double what I am charged at the Post Office, she found a cheaper way (which I had asked for to begin with) for $15. Still outrageous. I asked for my package back and explained to her that I would take it to the Post Office because shipping there is generally $8-$9 for that size box. Michelle remarked that she didn't think that would be the case. Low and behold, my Post Office shipping of this box was $9.65. Every time I go in there, Michelle acts as though customers are a huge inconvenience. I am a retail store manager myself and would not complain if I received even half the courtesy that I give to my customers. Lesson learned, would not recommend The Mail Stop. read more
