After a long drive to Lake Tahoe our first road trip with our 23-month-old we were exhausted and looking forward to relaxing. The front desk agent, Rachel, made us feel anything but welcome. When we walked up to check in, she didn't greet us or smile. She simply stared at me until I said, "Hi, how are you?" Her response was, "Can I have your ID?" There wasn't even a simple hello. She spoke very quickly, didn't explain any of the additional charges, and just asked for my credit card, saying the total would be $137. I tried to explain that I had prepaid for the room and was told I'd only be paying the $57 resort fee at the property, so I wanted to confirm what the additional charge was. Before I could even finish my sentence, she cut me off and rudely said, "I don't know what you paid for online." While checking out they charge $50 for valet parking and $70 ish for resort fees . So I paid an additional $137 for fees which is insane for one night . At that point, I was too tired to argue, so I just paid. Before I had even finished putting my credit card back in my wallet, she looked right past me and called the next guest forward. There wasn't a line just us and one other person waiting. She didn't tell us where the elevators were, provide any information about the hotel, or even end the interaction with a "Have a nice stay." I had to ask another employee where to go. Lake Tahoe has many hotels, and Margaritaville certainly isn't cheap . So a total of over $400 for one night is not worth the money for this hotel with horrible customer service . For a hospitality business, the customer service at check-in was incredibly disappointing. Families come here to relax and enjoy their vacation, and our very first interaction with the hotel immediately put a damper on our trip. The room was clean but the bed sheets had black dirty stains not sure what it was . The fridge wasn't working either , my toddlers milk ended up going bad . The hotel itself isn't worth the price but the biggest downfall was of how we were treated by Rachel, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

We stayed in a three-bedroom so my son and daughter's family could have their own space and bathrooms while sharing a living room and a kitchen. We were able to cook breakfast while the kids slept in and heat our leftovers from dining out, with the stove, dishwasher and full size refrigerator. We also took advantage of washing the kids swimwear in the washer and dryer in our room so they could rewear for the next day. I stayed in the 3rd bedroom with an adjoining door and had my own sink, microwave and small refrigerator when I wanted to sit on the loveseat and watch a different TV show in my room. There were 8 of us. The pool is so much fun for the kids. There's also a splash pad, and plenty of room with lounge chairs. There's two or three barbecue areas with tables with several barbecues to use. There's two best part is not having to clean it, because staff are there to keep it clean. Activities are provided for guests in the lobby or at the pool. There's a game room with several video games and we took advantage of the fitness rooms. I enjoyed the crafts we made and cookie decorating in the activity room. There is only one restaurant, Fire + Ice, on the property, but there are so many restaurants and stores right outside the gate from the pool and the lobby. The Gondala is right next to the hotel as well. So convenient to in the evening when there may be music and activities going on. We enjoy making s'mores, which the sell for $5, in the evening by the fire pit.

My biggest pain point Valet parking can take forever and is a pain and that it is the only Option. They only have one restaurant on site (fire and ice), which I didn't try. Check in time is 4pm, but unfortunately our room still wasn't ready until after 4:30pm. We stayed in a party of three two bedroom villas and they were all spread out. The pool area is nice and has a number of grill areas. There is also a kids craft and game room. No daily housekeeping though.

I've stayed here three times, in both the Tower and Nagle buildings, and the views alone make every visit worthwhile. The location is absolutely five-star, especially for winter trips focused on skiing. Many of the units are more like condos than hotel rooms, with full kitchens, living areas, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and thoughtful extras like jetted tubs, gas fireplaces, laundry rooms, and balconies. Ski lockers conveniently located in the halls are another nice touch. Decor varies depending on the building and unit -- some feel more updated than others -- but all have character and have consistently been well stocked with useful amenities like humidifiers, fans, and reliable coffee makers. Parking is easy and plentiful, with both underground and outdoor options across the property. My favorite feature, hands down, is the Skier Express -- a mechanical bubble shuttle that connects the resort directly to the Stagecoach lift. When it's running, it's an amazing perk, though it seems to be operational only about half the time, which can be frustrating. There's also a traditional shuttle that loops to the base lodges. It can take a bit longer due to the one-way main road, but it's still a solid option for getting around. On my most recent visit, the management team really stood out. Communication before arrival was excellent, and I was celebrating a milestone birthday -- they made the stay feel extra special with genuine kindness and attention. If you have A and B you have a shared entry ( with key card access then the rooms split off again with key card access. With kids it was constant back and forth being able to prop open the doors would be nice. Rooms had nicely stocked kitchens with tons of pots pans and things you don't normally get at a hotels (dishwasher and toasters). I never heard anyone else in the hall above us it was very soundproof when the windows were closed. Still not sure about all the amenities since no one explained them at all. Saw the gym and an activity area (closed). Teena enjoyed the pool and spa and warm towels. Staff was nice but our diverse family encounter many people who gave us wires looks including a lady in the elevator who almost passed out when our family joined her on the elevator to go up to our room.

Not only did I not hear any of my neighbors above or below me but I never heard doors closing which is very common in hotels. Not the case here. It was the best rest without ear plugs I've had in several months of travel. The body gel, shampoo and conditioner is the best one out of all the hotels I've stayed. There is only 1 other Hilton that uses this same brand and I was so pleased when I saw they use this one here. The water is immediately hot with good pressure and the towels were really soft and just clean not like they'd been bleached and smelled of it. Nate, at the concierge desk, was fantastic at guiding me on places around Lake Tahoe to go check out. The fridge gets really cold so just watch out your stuff on the top rack may freeze a bit. The room came with a nice tub which I used every night to relax my body. The heater they have in this room works really well and kept me and my doggies warm throughout the day and night. They come and clean your room everyday so this is a major reason why they request for your dogs to be well behaved. I'm coming back here again I hope in the summer. Its located 1 mile from Homewood resort so if you ski or snowboard it's really convenient, especially if your kids are fur babies.
