Cakes Eggs & Links

Enjoyed swooping in for a quick brunch. It was my first time ever swinging in and the server was great and really enjoyed my pancakes. Felt a bit pricy and the eggs scrambled a bit hard, but overall really good flavors.

The Lowry is a great restaurant choice when you visit uptown. They have a delicious brunch with several brunch cocktail options. I loved my bacon, lettuce, tomato, avacado sandwich and the bread was great. The side of chips was pretty good, but needed some more seasoning. The bloody mary was very tasty. I love that they have a parking lot- it's such a rare find in uptown! Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is cute and inviting. There is plenty of space for various size groups of people. The prices are a little steep, but at least the food is delicious Overall, I look forward to coming back!

Croque Madame with side salad

I've been to The Lowry quite a few times over there years and love their food. I like that they have lots of different seating options and plenty of parking for a city restaurant. My boyfriend and I came in today for some brunch and had such a hard time trying to pick what we wanted. There's always great options on their menu, they seem to have something for everyone! I ordered the Croque Madam. My server forgot to ask what side I wanted so I ended up with the side salad which was disappointing. They seem to just dress it with olive oil so it was pretty bland. The croque madam was really good but I wish the béchamel sauce was over the whole sandwich and not just the one side. It was a bummer having it only on part of it. I feel like every time I come here the service isn't the best but the food is good enough to keep me coming back.

The Lowry is an all time fave for me. I used to live a few blocks away for many years. Breakfast meetings for business. A favorite neighbor or 2. You name it. Today invited son Brandon for an early lunch and biz. We took advantage of the shrimp tacos at the bar. Believe it or not, it was not much more than two meals at Mac D's. Their breakfast and their beverages are awesome. Think you'll dig it too.

I really enjoyed the Lowry! I've been before and didn't like the chilaquiles but today I wanted one of everything on the menu! The calamari was great and I appreciated that it was served with two dipping sauces, although the aioli is my favorite. I don't think the shrimp is necessary but we ate it all. The grilled steak salad was really good, all the flavors were well balanced.

Good food and great service. And open until 11:00 PM on a Saturday which is definitely rare these days! Shout out to Lxi (according to our ticket) who was an absolute ROCKSTAR, and so nice to us. It made our day. We went after a concert on Saturday. The food was good and the portions left everyone but me with food to bring home. I had the burger which had tasty bacon and tons of onion strings on it, and came with decent house made chips. Others had the fish and chips, grilled cheese and Nashville hot chicken. All were good. The beer list is pretty good as well. Prices are maybe a touch above similar, but they have some more creative entrees as well.

French Toast Chicken Stack

This was my second time visiting the Lowry in person! The first time was okay for their happy hour. I got a lot of crackers with my oysters which I thought was strange. This time I came here with my girlfriend for brunch. I like that they have a lot of parking and that it's within walking distance of where I live. The menu is large and has options for every palate. I ordered the French chicken stack with a side of pancakes. The food itself was amazing and I would come back again just for the food. The service wasn't bad, but I thought that the waiter could have been more attentive. Overall I had a good experience!

Loved my per se hibiscus margarita (NA)! The buffalo cauliflower was really good too. My fiancé loved his wings and drinks as well. The vibe is cute, with a fireplace when you walk in, lots of booths, and an outside area for when it's warmer out. Service was on point and could answer all my questions about plant based options. Would deff return!

Went here for a quick bite before an event! Made this known to our server and she was fantastic with the speed. Everything is very fairly priced for the portion sizes - big kudos. We had the cheese curds and truffle fries - both were amazing! Like a really perfect. The applesauce dip for the curds was amazing, I've never had anything like this so I was very impressed. The fries were bold with truffle flavor and were not dripping in grease which is rare to find. Big kudos to the Lowry for this! I must come back and try more food :)

This one of my favorite spots, plenty of parking in the lot, and outdoor eating space available. Ambiance 4/5 Great seating inside and out, bar seating and high top booths (which I love). Festive during the Winter, low lit at night. Great leather and wood feel. Service 4/5 Ask for Miguel on Saturdays and tip him well. He's worth it. Very responsive and personable. The only time I've experienceid slow service was with a large party on a Saturday. I was actually surprised since they weren't very busy either. We all received our meals at separate times. Food/ Drinks 4/5 Reasonably priced drinks and food. The Buffalo Cauliflower is very salty w/no crispiness, I wouldn't order it again. Drinks: St Agrestis Phony Negroni $13.50 Buffalo Cauliflower $12.50 | Chicken Wings $16.95 | Sweet Potato Fries $9.95 Baja Bowl $16.95 | Chocolate Cake $ 9.95 TOTAL: 65.85 (various visits) Overall 4/5 Great spot!

I ordered the Cakes,Eggs,&Links which was very good. I got my eggs fried hard no yolk- this came out great. My partner got the American breakfast sub out toast for one pancake. Cons- one pancake costing $3.99, cheap tasting coffee, the pancakes are a little dense could be more fluffy! Pros- service here is great!, food comes out fast!, they have a morning happy hour which include $6 mimosas!

Didn't realize I spent $22 for one pancake and little amount of food ,and just one pancake ??? Crazy

Over price for little ass amount of food , and the other meal my wife had was also very skimp and all over

Chimichurri, short rib with tomatillo rice.
Niki V.

I highly recommend trying this place! I took my granddaughter here for a little dinner date. I had the chimichurri short rib & she had the Mickey mouse pancake. I also had the strawberry something sangria. It's was all delicious our server was Heather she was fantastic. We sat out on the patio it was very nice. When we left my granddaughter said to me she was glad I brought her there & she can't wait to go back ( she is 9). We will eat & got up desert at Sebastian Joe's.

I got the wild mushroom mac & cheese to go and it was delicious. I ended up going back to get the same meal the day after.

We had heard about Prohibition before, and given its historical significance in the Foshay Tower,…read morewe had to check it out! Located inside the Foshay Tower, there's street and valet parking available! We entered through the W hotel lobby and took the elevator up to the 27th floor! We were met by a fun, retro-inspired lounge with many couches and tables available in a 360-degree set up. It has Prohibition-themed decor, but I wouldn't quite call it a speakeasy, as there wasn't any guise to entering or accessing the space. My only critique is that the space is quite dated, but not in a cool way. It could really use an update to the paint and interior to maintain itself as a "destination" versus just another hotel bar with a view. The bartenders were quite friendly and helpful during our visit. We had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane during our visit! Both cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Now, at around $26 each, I would expect that level. Overall, a cool, historical spot to grab a drink!

The elevators open up right into the bar. It's very cool.

I come to MSP often for work, and it's always a challenge to find a decent, healthy meal late in…read morethe evening downtown. Fortunately, the Earth Bowl at Star fits the bill and will probably be a go-to on future trips. It's a nicely seasoned, balanced, and clean-tasting assortment of greens, other vegetables, grains, and optional protein (shrimp was a good choice). And the generous pour of cab sauv complemented it well. Food aside, the space is very inviting and calming (and geometrically interesting, being circular in design), perfect for catching up on some reading during my meal. Service was also pleasant. The only thing is that there wasn't much else on the menu that appealed to me personally, so I'm hoping the bowl isn't something temporary or seasonal. In any case, I look forward to my next visit.

They even have hh in Friday. There's a lot to choose from on the hh menu. My friend and I shared wings, crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and the whipped feta toast. All were delicious and portions are generous. Wings had a nice crisp and were substantial, not tiny. The whipped feta toast is a sleeper though, and prob the one I enjoyed most. Lots of accoutrements, super tasty. The sidecar was great and so was the Benedictine Manhattan cocktail. Strong but well balanced. We were greeted with a warm and thoughtful welcome, esp considering what's happening in our city rn. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Nice, upscale ambiance and decor. It makes for a great after work happy hour downtown or a great spot for a more formal date night. Located inside the Indigo hotel. Plenty of on street metered parking on surrounding blocks. Will be back.

Went on Thursday night at 12. Not super a lot of people there. The dance floor was pretty empty…read more Seemed like most people were out on the patio. There were a bunch of different rooms, which all had different music playing. Didn't explore that much. Mostly just out on the patio and on the dance floor, but I saw pool and other bar games. There was also a photo booth, which we used. Overpriced, but I guess you have to expect that from photo booths. Drinks were so cheap ($4)! And good dance music from the DJ. Biggest complaint is that there is only one stall in the bathroom (the rest are urinals). So it was always busy because obviously there are a lot of people who are trying to use the stall. Had to plan your pees.

Had my first experience at The Saloon for Twin Cities Leather Weekend early November!…read more The thing that struck me most is the impressive square footage of the place. It essentially has four-ish connected but separate "chambers." You come in on the corner into the first one which has a typical bar set-up with lots of bar stools to sit at. Further back there's more table-and-chair style seating because it's nearby their kitchen where they serve hot food; there's also a pool table and darts throwing in this section. Deeper in there's a couple more bars in smaller segmented dual rooms, which is nearby the main restroom (there are several, at least three restroom locations inside). Quite a lot of urinals in this establishment, but a lack of stalls to sit and do your business, which was a little frustrating for someone like me whose equipment requires sitting to pee. No gender segregation though, which I'd expect in this day and age of a queer bar, but still nice to see. The final room is by far the largest, as it has a bar but also a large open area like a dance hall and stage. For this particular weekend it was utilized for hosting the contest, but also a puppy mosh (iykyk). Even as big as it was, it was PACKED during the contest portion of the weekend, making it difficult to see or hear the contest. (I think they could use a more up to date sound system.) We got food while we were there, and it was great. I got a BLT for just $9 and it was piled high with bacon- they did not skimp. Eating it all was a challenge for li'l ol' me. Meals come with ruffled chips that are very salty, but you can upgrade to other side options like french fries, onion rings (which my husband did), etc. for $2. The food was honestly affordable, especially for the amount they give you; I think they do this to discourage you from leaving the bar to go somewhere else for food, which is a solid strategy, haha. Parking around here is... tough, as you might expect in downtown. There is a nearby garage though just across the street behind the bar that I think is just $5 for evenings? I'm sure I'll be back for future events. I myself am not a casual bar-goer, so I don't really go out to these types of establishments unless they're hosting something fun. Always nice when a place is a community gathering space in addition to their regular business. I appreciate this place exists and serves the queer/kink community in that way.
