Lovely hairdressers, keen to chat! Nice secret hair washing area, with massage chairs! Good haircut, linked to a college scheme I think, young atmosphere in there with a strong focus on whats on trend. Reasonable pricing read more

This hair and beauty salon in Orpington high street is rather extravagant. It feels as though they have tried to make an effort to be stylish and unique but it comes across a little tacky. The girls that work there are lovely and there are a range of beauty treatments to visit The Lounge for. It is a place to relax and be pampered and to some people that is all that matters. I find The Lounge to be a bit too expensive and I am also rather loyal to other hairdressers in which I have been to a great deal more often. read more

I agree with the assessment below; it is visually a little tacky. They do offers during the week and the staff are friendly. BUT, the technical side varies wildly, the hair washes have been consistently bad pick a combination of rushed, only washing the top part of your hair, not rinsing completely, being very rough. They do seem to be in a rush which I find anything but relaxing but it was convenient and we're all busy. UPDATE: Last time I visited was simply a disaster. I felt like I was constantly saying no/please stop that/what is that you're about to spray in my hair/pls stop digging into my scalp/my hair colour isn't right to the point that I went straight home, washed my hair again as there was still tint on the scalp and popped a hat on it to cover the mess of patchy colour and very irritated skin. I'm now having a colour correction service elsewhere once the irritation has gone down(!) and needless to say, never going back. read more

it seems to have gone down hill since Steff took a back step I have been going there since it opened and used to have my hair done by Laura but now she is too busy looking at the juniors to see what they are up which has meant that her standards have dropped. this hairdressers had such reputation with great reviews- but now you go there ask for something to be done when they take the towel off they can clearly see it has not worked but carry on regardless. I think if Steff came back and Laura went back to doing hair this would once more get great reviews and I for one would return to using them read more

I'm not normally someone who would leave a review but when googling The Lounge as my phone broke and I lost the number for the shop I saw the reviews. I also use Laura as my stylist and think the last review is a little unfair as Laura is a very good hairdresser and also the Manager so it surely is her job to be overseeing her staff? I also know that Steph the owner does work there along side Laura and the rest of the girls. I think all the girls do a lovely job down there and can't wait to see them for my Christmas appointment and see there new decor they were planning last time I was in. All round good experience every time! read more

I first went into Bobby's for a sunbed and was very pleasantly surprised. The salon was gleaming and fresh which was a huge change from Tan Express which had been there before - and my first impression was excellent, although it was clear that there was still work in progress, although discreet. The sunbed sessions come in lots of three minutes and although I was only waiting for about 5 minutes for the person before me to finish, I was promptly offered a drink and a biscuit. The girls were chatty and included me in their conversation, asking my opinion on future offers and nail polish colours for their OPI stand. The sunbed was clean and music was playing from the inside - it was lovely to have a little dance! Wet wipes and goggles were provided too so I could wipe off any sweat afterwards and protect my eyes while I was inside. Although I was nervous to have any treatments I booked in for a hair appointment for the following week. Since then the hairdressers have changed but I've never been disappointed and have been taken from dark reddy box-dye brown to white blonde as well as had a variety of different cuts. I visited Bobby's on my birthday to have my nails done ready for the night ahead, and being a regular customer was given a free BCB (big, curly blowdry) as a gift from the girls! The current hairdressers are great, too, using Bedhead products that make you smell divine. Since my first visit to Bobby's I have had waxing, lashes, gel nails and acrilyc nails, pedicures, massages, and spray tans. The girls offer advice on how to prolong the effects of your treatment and offer a high standard of service. This is a very friendly and buzzing environment and during the day there are mothers in there with (well behaved) children, but on weekdays I find that evenings are quieter, as they are open until 8PM. Often they are quite busy so I would call in advance and book but walk-ins are usually fit in as well! The only other thing I have to say is if you're going to have a massage... ask for Hayley. She has magic hands like no other masseuse!

I agree with Leona below I've also been to a few others in Orpington but The Lounge is by far the best and have been going there for over 2 years now. The staff are very friendly and I always enjoy my few hours there (especially the massage chairs when I get my hair washed!). Am always really pleased with my hair have highlights, tint and cut and it always looks brill. They're great at giving advice when you want a change (I used to have brown hair and went to them looking for a dramatic change to blonde!) and clearly know what they're talking about! Also have had beauty treatments here which were also great, as I had expected. Would thoroughly recommend this salon! Also my boyfriend goes here now too as they do great men's hair. He used to go to Toni & Guy but much prefers what they do here, and it's much better value! read more

I recently came to the lounge after visiting a few salons on the high street, I had been to graham Webb, Toni & guy & raw all f which I have found onl know how to cut 1 or 2 styles don't listen and are some what rude and inexperienced, I stumbled across the longe after a horrific visit to Raw, I came in to the salon and was greeted by friendly staff, the place was a buzzing mix of smiles and laughter. I waited a short while before have in a chat with a senior stylist, a lovely young man, who was very eager to find out what I wanted from my visit, and how I styled my hair at home etc, etc, I booked a appointment with him and came the following week, I must say I am very happy and will be going again, soon. read more

I've been to many salons over the years and The Lounge has to be the best by far. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I always feel I can relax and have a good old natter with the girls. I love the décor of the place and especially the massage chairs, they're fantastic! I've always come out of this salon extremely happy with my hair styles and now a lot of my friends and family have started going there too. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants a really good hair cut/style or even some sort of beauty treatment. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

I have always found the girls who work at the Lounge very nice and friendly, they seem to work as a good team and I don't sense any bitchyness which you can get with some salons. I am middle aged and thought I would feel uncomfortable with the modern look salon and all young girls, but they have made me feel very welcome, They all seem to be experienced confident hairdressers, and have been happy with the results. I would recommend this salon to others. read more

I have been looking for a local Hair & Beauty salon, I have visited all within the High Street but 'The Lounge' is now going to be my regular salon. They have clearly built up a reputable brand and pride themselves on there expertise. Professional, stylish & excellent customer service. I felt extremely welcome & comfortable through my entire visit. Highly recommend! read more
