Scariest place in Lee's Summit! The haunt combined with the Escape Room would be a great Girls Night or family time with older kids.

For the price it was pretty meh. Lots of great decor and the staff that was there was nice but most…read moreof the walk through was empty. Felt like they were super short on actors or something. Additionally, it doesn't matter that you buy tickets online. You will then have to stand in a stupid long line to get a wristband to THEN go stand in line at your haunted house of choice. The coordinators literally just created 1 huge line that takes hours to get through for no reason. No street vendors or entertainment outside of the houses anymore. Haven't been in a few years hence why I didn't know about the armband or general boringness of the current experience but I imagine it'll be my last time.

But don't worry, we were told that they stay open until maybe 11 or midnight so it might be worth getting in line. We were told to stand in the same line as people who didn't buy tickets ahead of time. No warning of this line. They just take your money and assume you'll either give up or spend your entire night in a line an half of a mile long. Absolute joke.

This was absolutely one of the scariest haunted house experiences that I have ever encountered…read more Carolina haunted houses have nothing on the Kansas City thriller.. The Beast! I was very happy to find out out that Eastern Missourans enjoy a nice scare. First and foremost, I certainly advise you buy your tickets before arriving. The line to get in is incredibly long, and it is very much so worth a few extra bucks to skip all this waiting. I really liked the fact that there were food vendors around on the corners of the streets (food trucks). This helps with the annoying wait time. But once you get inside, everything changes for the better. The actors working at the haunted house do an excellent job at keeping all of us on edge, but without scaring us too badly. I was certainly glad to experience such a wonderfully terrifying experience. The art installations were phenomenal, and designs were very authentic. I would certainly go back next Halloween season!

The set designs were impressive, and a few moments actually delivered a decent scare. However, it was still extremely hot inside, which made the experience uncomfortable after just a few minutes. While the timing between groups was improved compared to The Edge of Hell, the overall organization still left a lot to be desired. For $69 (for two haunted houses), I expected a smoother, more professional setup and better crowd management. Although The Beast offered more thrills, it still didn't live up to the hype or the hefty price tag. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're okay with paying a premium for an experience that feels more exhausting than entertaining.

The tour guide and founder, Steve, does a great job leading the tour with all the concern and sweetness of a kindly, fun loving Uncle, trying to make sure you are safe. First stop? Casey's, where we stood around for 15 minutes so so he could turn on the air at the "haunted" house. I should have listened to my gut and left then. The next six, yes, SIX HOURS were spent hiking in a cemetery during a heat advisory, trespassing on private property, parking in front of houses Steve said were DEFINITELY haunted (It was dark, btw. Couldn't see anything) and traipsing around in a "haunted" house that was structurally unsound. Steve kept saying everything was cool bc he's in the Chamber of Commerce. He's not. The tour was supposed to be a birthday surprise for me and wound up being one of the worst days of my life. Run. Run FAST.
