So I rightfully questioned. I was met with retaliation and the surgery was canceled one week before surgery. Then, I was not given a proper, timely referral to another neurosurgeon. Meanwhile, my symptoms have gotten worse. I would not recommend going here until there is proven success stories. You don't want to have to deal with Kathleen either. She will hang up the phone on you after you point out she didn't respond not get a referral made. Then she made a referral 2.5 hours away in Colorado Springs. The office she referred me to thought it was not right.

This was the first huge win. I arrived at the date/time as anticipated for my appointment. I was greeted in a friendly and sincere manner by the front desk. There was a glitch with the payment system and the receptionist profusely apologized. This was not necessary. Technology comes with challenges at times and I completely understand. No sooner did I sit down to start paperwork, and the MA came out to get me. She was kind, polite, courteous, and had a genuine interest in my healthcare and medical condition. She was very thorough and assured all information was correct and complete. Then the provider Brandon came in and changed my whole life. He recapped all the information my PCP, who is also part of Banner, sent to him. Reviewed the information the MA and I completed together. He had 90% of the picture from the front. We filled in some gaps and he reassured me he would be getting me my medication. I left with loading doses of medication in hand. Also, a prior authorization was completed within 24 hours and medications were at the pharmacy for me. Brandon and his MA (Abi) are a team that are unstoppable. They have genuine sincerity and compassion for human kindness and promoting health. I have never had such an amazing experience. I am honored to have a care team that exudes only the best for their patients. I cannot say enough kind words about these folks who technically saved my life in a time of turmoil due to lack of medication and treatment at another local medical organization. Brandon, Abi, and everyone else at Banner Neurology in Greeley, please keep up the beyond phenomenal work that you do every day. And thank you again so much for all your care! I look forward to encounters with you!

Consequently, I have been close to going through sertraline withdrawals because of the difficulty of commuting between school in St. Louis, MO and Greeley, CO. The insurance of Kaiser Permanente is horrible, and they are difficult to work with. I almost sued them at one point, but I was able to get an expensive plane ticket so that I wouldn't have to go through sertraline withdrawals. Shortly after, I decided that I will switch insurance as soon as my contract ends in January. Boycott Kaiser Permanente! They are a disgrace to our healthcare system, especially our mental healthcare system!

As a rule I don't usually leave one star reviews on businesses. I will for products, but usually I…read moredon't want to be the one slandering a business that hundreds or thousands of people will see in their search results. This is a VERY rare exception. My experience at Kaiser was the worst experience I have ever had as a consumer dealing with any company, seeking any service, at any place or time, in my entire life. I was covered under them for two years. Believe me when I say that I switched insurance companies as soon as I possibly could afford to. I could go on with all my dozens of specific complaints but I'd rather narrow it down to the essence of the situation, which is summed up like this. - When I was first prescribed antidepressants it saved my life, and possibly my sanity. - I had to fight my doctor to get on the right kind which took about 6 months, but since I did my life changed permanently for the better. Among other things I've been able to hold down a job and not treat everyone like a crab. - I used Kaiser mostly for the medication coverage so this is more a critique of their prescription system. - My prescriptions were only ready every other month or so. Roughly half the time I had to go for a few days without my medication while the doctors worked it out with the pharmacy. This trend continued for the duration of my coverage. For some people that would not be a big deal. For me it's incapacitating to me even a day of missing a dose. The way this medicine helps me is so immense it's hard to put into words. Imagine Plato's allegory of the cave. Taking the medication certainly allowed me to see the real world. When I didn't have it, I had to adjust back to looking at the world as mere shadows. My job, my wife, and everything else became shadows. Interacting with shadows that aren't really shadows is difficult. This kind of an adjustment takes weeks to handle correctly. I would have to taper down slowly off the medication by reducing the dose to handle it correctly and appropriately. Kaiser pharmacies are not open on the weekend, or after business hours on weekdays. Sometimes I would travel to the Denver Kaiser location which has different hours to get one month's fill because it was easier than waiting the weekend to get this essential medicine on Monday. Eventually I was prescribed a second medicine which is a "controlled substance. " (Aren't all prescriptions "controlled"? Isn't that the point of having a prescription instead of OTC?) No but I find out they need a written one for this. The doctor who writes the prescription was in Denver at their psychiatry office. He worked Monday-Friday strictly. If your order wasn't mailed, or as was more often the case, wasn't sent to the local pharmacy, I was s.o.l. for the rest of the weekend and the 3-5 business days for it to be mailed to the pharmacy. This happened more times than I could count. The pharmacists are lovely people. If I could I would ask all of them why they are working for such a corrupt, dishonest, and incompetent bureaucracy. I had one major abdominal surgery while I was covered under Kaiser. The surgery caused complications that gave me a cyst on one certain left reproductive organ, post surgery. No accountability was taken for this. I was given an antibiotic which did nothing, and sent on my merry way. Swelling remains to this day. I say these things with a tint of humor because I have moved on from this difficult situation and switched to a reliable provider. But Kaiser Permanente will always and forever remain with me as an ugly black mark in my memory and by far the most frustrating health care experience, nay consumer experience I've had or ever will have.

I took a SIBO test, rested positive, was prescribed Xifaxan to take 3 times a day for 14 days with no other follow-up or anything. I messaged and called multiple times. Dr. Eileen Quillin refused to address this matter herself on the portal even after several attempts. She kept forwarding me to a nurse, who was less than helpful and rude. A week and a half she argued with me. I guess the Banner Health mission is not followed by staff. We also contacted the pharmacy and spoke with them to confirm this was correct. They stated there are no alternatives available; which means it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. I called the number you provided and spoke with Pam she spent 20 minutes going through the covered medications list and the OTC medication list and again there are NO PROBIOTICS covered regardless of a prior authorization. If it's not covered I can't request a prior authorization. I have provided a copy of the OTC product list that I found online. (this is below). It is not the responsibility of clinical staff or providers to be aware of what insurance companies will cover the cost of; especially OTC medications.
