I planned to go here to hear some karaoke, but unfortunately, there was a cover band last night. The music was pretty good, but the lame jokes by the band were god awful. I got a delicious signature chicken tender salad. It was a generous portion and was a 5/5. I ordered the Ooey Gooey chocolate chip dessert. I would like to update my review. Based upon my last review, one of the owners (Chris) reached out to me to express his apologies for our experience during our first visit. We corresponded back and forth via email and finally were able to go back tonight and give The Line another opportunity. When my family walked in, the bartender greeted us warmly and advised us to sit where we would like. She was our initial waitress during our first visit. Chris was talking with some patrons at the bar and immediately walked over and introduced himself to us. In fact, he sat down with my whole family and provided a history of the bar and his involvement with it. He also took the time to apologize for our dining experience last time and went over the areas that they have addressed in an effort to improve. I found him warm, personable and most importantly genuine. My children ordered the chicken fingers like last time and my wife and I shared "The Meat Pie" pizza. We ordered it extra crispy. We had a couple of sodas, a tea and water for drinks. Chris sat and chatted with us for a good while and our waitress was very attentive the entire time. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and we enjoyed conversation with Chris for a good portion of that period. When the food did come, let's just say that my wife and we were pleasantly surprised. The pizza had a healthy amount of toppings and was cooked to perfection. What we weren't prepared for was how good the pizza actually was (in a bar of all places!). We have lived in a lot of places, including Connecticut and New York. We like to consider ourselves judges of good thin & crispy pizza. We have not had pizza this good since Connecticut! It was great! We looked at our kids chicken fingers and fries and tried them out. Both were crispy with good flavor. Not like the first time when they were soggy and floppy. The kids really liked them, so did my wife and I. Chris told us that they worked on the getting the deep fryer just right. He said he listened to our feedback and made changes. Chris was honest when he spoke with us. In a nutshell, he said that they missed the mark our first visit. He wanted to correct it. Boy did they ever. I totally understand what Chris meant. Sometimes we just have an off day. That particular day was just an off day for them. Looking at the bar I saw several regulars again. Chris explained that they look to build off a reputation as a local spot for both singles and families. They want to be known in the community and be a part of it. You could see (and hear it with the laughter coming from the bar) that they are achieving the mark in that endeavor. The food today was on. Sometimes we all miss the mark and have an off day. Chris and his team really showed that when it does happen, he wants to learn from it and make it better. It's that desire to get better that really sold my family and I on The Line. That and the great pie. I read on their menu that Tuesday nights are 1/2 price pizza. My wife and I will definitely be back and have another pizza pie. Even if it is on a night other than Tuesday!!! When walking in I could feel the good vibes already. There were a few people getting take out orders and to me that speaks volumes of the quality of food. The food is still outstanding, and the service is generally good, too. However, one of the things that made this restaurant special was the involvement of the ownership in the day to day operations of the business. I've noticed that on many nights this isn't the case anymore. Chris and Aimee have infectious personalities and that is reflected in many of the Yelp reviews. They used to be there for at least part of most nights and would introduce themselves to customers and assist when needed. This hasn't been the case as often lately and some of the poorer reviews are direct reflection of this. I eat here all the time, and will continue to eat here because I know the food is outstanding. Giving this place a "Best in Class - Neighborhood Pubs" after one quick visit. Just stopped in the first time after driving by for years. Had a Margarita that was hand made (no mix), good sized, and pretty potent for just $3.50! The service was great and the obviously regular clientele at the bar made me feel very welcome. We stopped in here while in Dallas for work. We picked this place for the food reviews in a few websites looking for a "pub" style near where we were staying. There were 3 of us and all of us enjoyed the food, the good prices and well prepared mixed drinks by the bartender. The bartender was personable. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is it was dead beyond what I was expecting even for mid week. So if your looking to get out and just chat with people keep this place for a weekend trip. The atmosphere was comfortable, not too crowded and everyone seemed to know each other. The service was good, she was friendly and our glasses never went completely empty. They even offer a few local craft brews, which is always a plus. The karaoke was a good mix and the dj was fair with getting a rotation of new singers as well as repeat offenders like myself. However, subtracting from the whole experience was the food. We ordered chips and salsa to start, and the salsa seemed like Pace picante. We then ordered a couple of burgers with fries. The fries were the skin on variety which were fine, but the burger was just an average burger. Overall, we will probably return..maybe we'll just opt to try the pizza next time! read more

First time here. We went for a late drink and maybe some karaoke. Their bar offering is limited and the margarita was just O.K. I wanted to possibly get some appetizers but I didn't get offered to see a menu ( I was there at 9pm CST). They have a nice big screen TV and the karaoke set up was also nice. If you want to do karaoke.. this is a good place. Would I return? Maybe not. I would try a different place before returning to this bar/grill. Hope this helps. read more

New Ownership has taken a good thing and made it better. The Food is always great, the atmosphere is now even more warm and inviting. Even though I do smoke casually, I still like the fact that you have to step outside to smoke on the porch. I regularly enjoy the Karaoke and Bingo and also Trivia nights there. It makes it worth it having a regular set of friends and neighbors coming and relaxing around each other, just like if we were home. The Upside, is we don't have to clean up after they leave! I've been in the restaurant industry for 10 years. I've been a server, bartender, and currently bar manager. I feel that I'm very understandable and forgiving of an establishments shortcomings. In fact I've had some terrible service yet never reported or written about it before now. Never have I been so compelled to throw a place under the bus as I have with this place. In fact, I signed up on yelp for the sole fact of doing so. 1) The bar "manager" whose name I believe is Austin, was very VERY visibly drunk (illegal) and jumped behind the bar in order to serve a couple ladies their drinks, while completely ignoring guys that had sat there for 5+ mins with no service. Loud and extremely belligerent, I watched as he made 2 different women feel so uncomfortable that they left the establishment. 2) A visibly drunk patron (mind you this was 5 in the afternoon when we stopped for a beer and appetizer) was ordering pitchers of beer and after being served (illegal) would chug straight from the pitcher as if it were a beer mug. 3) This same visibly drunk patron would bring his small dog into the establishment where they serve food (once again illegal) and shove this poor animal at people while slurring something about this being my vicious dog. 4) I watched the "Bar Manager" receive a call in to-go order for a pizza. He had to borrow a menu to even tell her what the pricing was. I watched him bullshit and drink and chat with his friends until she showed up to pick up her pizza. He immediately handed the ticket to the kids in the back- they finally began making her order once she had arrived. She had obviously had a long day and patiently waited for the to begin making her order 20 mins after she had called it in. Unacceptable. 5) Finally, I've decided that to wait around for an appetizer is just going to lead to trouble so I ask for the tab. To my surprise our tab, which has only a couple beers on it, has tax on it as well. When you ring up alcohol into your system it is recognized by the pos and no tax is added. The only reason I can think that there would be tax on the ticket is b/c they are not reporting it to the state as liquor sales, they are reporting it as food sales so that they can skip out on state liquor taxes. (HIGHLY ILLEGAL) If zero stars was an option, these fools would get one, it felt like I was watching a painful episode of Bar Rescue. Ladies, stay OUT of this make-shift Frat House! I hope TABC knocks on their door - my deepest sympathy to the owner (only if you are unaware of these shenanigans) who put this "Bar Manager" in charge- you are sinking your business and they are obviously drinking away your profits. read more

The food will leave you witha smile on your face and a healthy dose of guilt the next morning. SO as this was a family outing for dinner, so drink light. Dinner time was great since the rowdy bar crowd had yet to arrive. Service was quick and attentive. The menu had a nice mix of greasy bar food and surprisingly healthy-like foods like a Cobb salad that used salami instead of ham. We order the sampler appetizer, a Cobb salad, an Angus burger, and a small pizza. So the name of the sampler platter escapes me now, but it was mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, tater skins, and onion rings. The first 3 items were same as everyone else, but fried to perfection. The onion rings were huge, crispy, and above average. The Line's version of Cobb salad replaces the ham with salami and came with a good mix of veggies, cheese, meat, and a good sized cup of ranch. once again, it was slightly above average. The Angus burger was served with fries. it came fresh and flame grilled as it had that smokey flavor with a rating of 7 out of 10. The pizza was the real surprise here.The crust is a thicker flat bread dough that's crispy yet chewier that most thin crust pizzas. the ample toppings and cheese balanced out the crispy crust. I would return for the pizza and a beer next time. If "The Line" is drawn here, I'm glad i crossed it. read more

I absolutely love the line! I've hosted many parties in their back room and the food an service have been great. Chris, the owner, is so easy to work with. They are overly accommodating every time I need their backroom. The food rocks! The Angus burger and fries. ...some of the best I've had. Also the queso is great. I hate most queso and send it back at restaurants, but I love the lines. The pizza is also so great. The meat lovers pizza is so good, also at lunch, you can build a small pizza for $5.99 with two toppings and it's the best! The brunch taco is also like a burrito, filled with what you want and is cheap. Drinks are good..........not just good, but strong! I love 5 touch drinks, travel to visit distilleries and wineries, so I'm picky. Linda makes the strongest drinks ever, not kidding. They are not super fancy with bitters, torches and fancy additions, but they are good. She takes care of people and she is like your personal friend at the Cheers bar, she knows your name, family, stories. ..it's wonderful. Tabitha, Jordan, Rachelle, Linda are all great. I recommend visiting the line if you don't want to stand in lines at restaurants or if you need a fun place to go in the evening for live music, karaoke or evening fun. This place was pretty great the first time. Laid back and the food was awesome. We had the chips and salsa and a pizza. The chips and salsa were both homemade and very tasty. The salsa was really spicy and fresh. The pizza was also good. Very fresh and cooked perfectly. Drinks were cheap and the service was fast. We even spoke with the owner and everyone was super nice. Well...the next time we went in, we had to move to two separate tables because the whole place smelled like VOMIT. We tried to manage because we went there on a Tuesday night for half price pizza. First, we ordered one drink and some chips and salsa. The salsa was completely different this time. It had very little flavor and no heat. It tasted like a can of stewed tomatoes. We wanted to stay and get some pizza, but the smell was so overwhelming that we had to leave and go somewhere else. Also, in the 20 minutes we were there, we managed to be waited on by 3 different people. It's like there was no order in the place the second time around. I hope these owners clean their restaurant and get some better servers. This place has great potential for a cool non-smoking hole-in-the-wall in Richardson. But if you can't stay there more than 20 minutes because the place smells like vomit, there is a problem. We may not go back, but if we do, I hope it smells A LOT better! read more

Absolutely love the pizza!!! My family lives in Allen but take the drive to Richardson many times a month just for the food! My daughter made sure to have the waiter pass along the message "Compliments to the chef" after eating their wings. My husband eats the burgers and can't stop talking about them. The staff always make us feel welcome just like we are part of the family. New ownership did this place wonders! If you are looking for an excellent family lunch venue or even a more grown up atmosphere in the evening for karaoke this is your place! It is worth the drive every time. I saw reviews and the pictures of the food for this restaurant and dragged my husband even though he was not thrilled about it. We arrived and sat for a while before greeted because the bartender was busy talking to her friends at the bar. Mind yoj, we were the only table in the place minus 6 or so people sitting at the bar talking to the bartender. She finally came and acted annoyed that we asked for a menu. She brought us the menus and we literally sat at the table for 15 minutes while she told stories to her companions. She came as we were getting ready to leave to take our order. Me and my friend Julia came in on Thursday 24 2016. We had to come to Dallas for a soccer World Cup Championship game to recruit players for collage. Well me and Julia wanted to go a bar that's really close by to our hotel where we can get a Uber. We have the Yelp app and saw the line So we like ok let's go check this place out ! Got there and WOW absolutely love this place !!!!!! Our bartender Annette was absolutely the BEST Bartender I ever had !!!! Then there was also a lady Jennifer and jess that also works there. There are the Nieces people ever there ! My dink got spilled and Jennifer came over and help me because I'm such a cults lol. The line is now my favorite places in Dallas now ! I give anything to have one in Florence Alabama lol. Me and Julia had the best time there and the employees are super nice when you walk in. Great burgers. However I would note it's not real family friendly. Didn't realize before we went this is really more of a bar. Quite a few patrons for a Sunday night and typical bar room banter (the not so kid friendly part). They have 2 sides to the place so our family moved the other side and it was safe enough for the kids. Has a pool table and a good selection of drinks. We live in the neighborhood and have seen restaurants come and go at this location. Amigos has thrived next door all the while. The Happy Hour here is a great deal $1.50 for a pint of Sierra Nevada? Count me in. Half priced appetizers as well. We got the stuffed jalapeno app. When it arrived I knew they were straight off the frozen food supply truck. Seen these in just about every bar and grill. They were just okay. My wife and I had burgers, which they gave her my medium burger and me her medium well burger. We swapped and didn't raise a stink, honest enough mistake. Burger was good. Bun was warm and toasted. Veggies on the side and fresh. Fries were a bit soggy, maybe our frozen jalapeno poppers cooled the oil. Son 1 had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which he says was fine. Son 2 had the lemon pepper chicken wings which I had one of and was good, crispy skin and good flavor, cooked thoroughly. Service was great, blues band was okay. All in all I say it warrants a return visit. I'd definitely meet a buddy here for a beer after work. I appreciate the owner has kept the menu simple. Prices are good for what you get. read more

This bar is like Cheers for Richardson. It's right across the street from my house. The interior is clean and spacious. Good drinks for a reasonable price. Friendly staff and patrons. They have karaoke a few nights a week and sometimes live music on Saturday. It's a fun place to hang with your friends since there's ample seating and the music isn't too loud. This is a wonderful local bar! I used to live in the area (Richardson/Garland), but even though I live in Addison, I still find myself coming to the Line on a regular basis. They have an amazingly friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. They have ample space for various experiences, and even without their great specials, they have great prices.
