When asked about allergies, we disclosed a shellfish allergy, and a server came to talk about how they could accommodate we had ordered chips, and they offered to change the oil as it may have been used with shellfish. We ordered chips (fries) with Parmesan & beef fat mayo, a cheese platter, the strawberries dessert with two glasses of brut and cappuccinos. The cheese platter was tasty, nothing out of this world, but definitely a good cheese platter with onion preserves, four different cheeses, candied walnuts, dried fig and yummy crackers. The chips were very tasty, and the dessert was fabulous. The dessert tray had fresh strawberries, delicious butter cookies, meringue pieces and dips that included chocolate ganache, chantilly creme, lemon curd, and a pink chocolate. We all agreed that the pink chocolate wasn't very good and the strawberries were tasty but certainly not the best we've ever had. The portions are meant to be shared, and we all left not needing anything else to eat. The whole experience was very fun and indulgent. One thing Harrods needs to work on it making sure employees know that this lounge is actually in the store. We asked several employees and nobody knew there even was a champagne lounge. FYI it's on the 4th floor.

You can book reservations via Open Table. I ordered the Perrier-Jouet Blanc de Blancs NV but Harrods was out and they where not expecting shipment for a few weeks (in mid-December.) The noise (piano player and guests) in the Tea Rooms next door, overpowers the music in the Champagne Terrace. Then, the manager (an older gentleman) chewed the waitress/hostess out in Italian in front of the guests which was inappropriate and unprofessional. She had been lovely and did not deserve to be treated so disrespectfully. The food menu is nice and was delivered quickly. The chocolate and sea salt caramel tart is fabulous. The food that I ordered was fresh and well-prepared. I felt, however, the entire experience was way-overpriced for what you received. It was nice, however, to sit in the sun and get away from the hustle and bustle of a crowded Harrods store but the ambience isn't soothing and relaxing. www.harrods.com

QUESTION: Where can you go to get a five-star hotel's afternoon champagne tea for £20?…read more ANSWER: The Wyndham Grand at Chelsea Harbour. It's as simple as that, folks. Because of the Wyndham Grand's out-of-the-way Imperial Wharf location, you, too, could enjoy the epic spread of afternoon tea (with posh finger sandwiches, two homemade warm raisin scones with clotted cream and jam and a spread of individually sized sweet pastries and other treats - too much food for a single person to reasonably consume, I assure you) along with a glass of bubbly at a leisurely pace whilst taking in the view of the harbour and its (billionaires') boats. I'm not entirely sure why the afternoon tea is so cheap, but it is. Tea without champagne is a measly 15 quid. I booked a place for tea online and arrived to a quiet lounge area at 3:00pm, with Sunday brunch winding down in the adjacent restaurant. The table was set, and the polished and besuited server greeted me graciously. The low-seated couches and armchairs were large and cosy, and my companions and I sipped, munched, supped and gluttonously indulged for THREE HOURS. Service wasn't without its faults: the server was a bit nervous for whatever reason, but she was certainly friendly and gracious; my first pot of tea was loose leaf, as one would expect of afternoon tea at a five-star hotel, but my second pot had a teabag chucked in (although said tea in teabag was aromatic and delicious); water and/or tea refills weren't forthcoming, but the server would have fetched these things if asked. Despite these lapses in service (nit-picky though they are), overall, the experience and value for money were outstanding. SUMMARY: Go here if you're a local, you want an indulgent yet inexpensive afternoon tea, you don't want to combat crowds of tourists who may or may not think that the clotted cream belongs in their teacups.* _______________________________________________________ *Although I do know that by posting this review the afternoon tea at the Wyndham Grand may very well become more busy than it was on my first visit, I remain confident that it will maintain its atmosphere of exclusivity due to its less-accessible location.

The restaurant called me and I returned their call to let them know I was still on my way. I felt like a total jerk for arriving so late, but the staff was incredibly welcoming. I decided to go solo for high tea, wanting to treat myself. They found me the perfect table where I could people-watch and enjoy the piano music from a comfortable distance. This high tea room is absolutely stunning and was made to be photographed. My waiter was incredibly patient and didn't judge me when I was taking pictures. In fact, he said that's what this room is meant for. There were a wide variety of teas, and I think the teas were the best part of the experience. The pastries were also delicious, but I didn't love any of the finger sandwiches. I'll definitely be back soon. Thanks for being so gracious despite my tardiness!

I hate it because I don't live in London. I also hate that no one else to my knowledge has thought to add whipped cold foam to espresso martinis. A non-alcohol alternative was also listed with its respective ingredients (I assume this is wherever applicable), and I appreciated the inclusivity. Currant (£23): I believe this was their version of a Palermo! My friend really enjoyed it and didn't find it too tart. Both still and sparkling waters were £5.50. Service was lovely, and we didn't feel rushed as they were closing. We came on a Wednesday evening so we were seated immediately, but I bet the wait can get long on a weekend. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone visiting London to experience their unique menu and drinks. Worth the $32 price point!
