I've held off putting up this review for a couple+ months but it has to be done. If another friend of mine said she was having her wedding here I would groan and do my best to persuade her otherwise if you really have no choice don't take one of their wedding packages, organise the flowers yourself, find independent evening entertainment & alternative accommodation for you and your guests.
The poor staff there try their best, they are so so sooooo dreadfully understaffed & so terribly unhappy in their working environment. The management has no skills in running a hotel, the staff are running around like blue a**ed flies, busy as heck & scared of the boss. This leads to an atmosphere you can cut with a knife. I was scared to complain for fear of making some poor girls working life even worse as I knew the manager would only kick off at the poor girl.
So what's good about this hotel. It's been refurbished to a nice standard. Modern, leather, moody lighting etc etc you know the sort. The bedrooms are not up to the standard of the downstairs which is a real shame. The wedding meal was fabulous as was the breakfast. They must have amazing chefs in that kitchen as it was truly epic, it wasn't the budget option though. But for quality food you don't mind paying. It's well worth a trip to for dinner.
Bottom line would I take my mum & granny there. Granny would love Sunday lunch but mother would give the managers a piece of her mind.
Yes I would go there for lunch or dinner.
No I wouldn't stay the night.
No I wouldn't have an event there. read more
