Be careful of other chiropractors that are franchise that start with 100 in the name. They tell you off the bat that you will need 75 visits and will cost $8j. Stay clear of them. My first time at The Joint this past Saturday and I really enjoyed it. Filling out the paperwork and watching a short video takes up a bit of time but its only necessary on your first time. Once I was seen, the doctor took great care of me. You can tell they're very knowledgeable. He asked me a few questions about my history and he told me he'd help with my hip pain and feel along my spine. The adjustment was great and I felt immediately better. He felt along my spine to see what felt right and made the adjustments from there. Even with the tapping on my lower back with the instrument, my back feels better. I plan on stopping in again when I figure out what works for my schedule. I recommend this chiropractor! read more

So today was to my understanding, my last day on what the Joint calls their "wellness plan" all together about $200. They get you in with an attractive $29 deal for the 1st visit and then try to sell you on some kind of visitation plan. So back story, I'm an onsite IT service tech. I had hurt my back despite the fact that I do stretches to hang on to my flexibility. After 2 wks I knew I had to step up my game a bit or I was going to get too far behind on my work. It was a weekend and most Chiropractors aren't open. So the fact that this place had hours every day and multiple locations already made it attractive to me. The $2 9 visit said it would include x-rays (if they take them) so I figured why not. They assessed me and then made a show of this at the front desk to the ppl waiting to be served "Mr. John Doe is having multiple pain factors involving trauma to his mid and lower back. I'm recommending he begin an aggressive visitation schedule w/ the wellness plan and I'm going to give him 2 free visits as well so we can speed along his recovery". I had worked the math out prior to visiting and considering that I got 10 visits over 2 months I was content enough about the value. My old Chiropractor charged $40 per visit, but he took insurance. The Joint does not. I wasn't in a position to whine about this fact though so went forward w/ their wellness plan. And since I could visit any "Joint" location in my area, I did. I tried every location I could find to see if things varied any. In general, there were Chiropractors that preferred adjustments through the table mechanics and others that would actually adjust you using your body positioning; I preferred these types. It's only my opinion but I don't feel like the table mechanisms and the impact "pistol" are as effective as just physically adjusting me. My first falling out with them happened with the free visits they gave. These visits expire, I realized this when they issued them to me. Each visit that was paid for I tried to instead use the free visits because I didn't want them to expire before I got to use them. Well, they expired before I could use them. Each time I tried to use them the receptionist would tell me that I still had visits on my plan and that I wasn't able to use them yet. I even came in for one of the free visits on the day it expired and they wouldn't honor this. It's wellness as a "carrot" for the donkey (or other word) that is me. I also noticed the good and bad of how they speed you through the adjustment. I think this style is probably great for business men, but the funny thing is how you can't hurry everyone else through fast enough and then they get to you and you're done in less than 5 minutes and your hearing the salutations behind your head. "Thanks for coming, see you next time". Very impersonal, just: *crunch* *flip* *crunch* *crack-crack* later! I once hurt my back (again) on a site trying to move a very large Server. My muscles had clamped down to allow me to still carry myself around in some manner. It was poor judgement on my part to try and get adjusted so soon after hurting things. The guy just tried to power through my clamped down muscles, which hurt them more. But you can't touch these people, they aren't responsible even if they are; you signed your rights away when you signed up. So I can see some use in their business model, but they don't make Chiropractic care any more honorable than most Chiropractors. The main staying power that they have is in their accessibility via hours of operation. Most traditional offices are closed. If you found a good one (adjuster)with The Joint then it's not a terrible idea to go be adjusted, just realize that you're "in the pot" when you visit. All the subtle egging on to come back quick for another adjustment is available to you, free of charge just for coming; you're welcome. For the record this review was saved in Yelp from a time when The Joint did adjustments for $40 per visit, last I had heard, they are now $50 per visit. If you just do random visits, you will always be encouraged to purchase a package -to save you money of course. It's funny how in every case of medicine or doctors if you can change your lifestyle in sometimes very small ways you don't need the medicine or the doctors. In the case of Chiropractic, you should learn your body and then develop and stretch your muscles more; especially your core. Then instead of "saving" your money with a "Wellness Package", you can save your money because you don't need them. read more

Today was my first visit and I was in a lot of pain and being up all night with my back. I called and from the moment I spoke to someone they were very friendly and understanding of my pain. I filled out the paperwork and met the doctor and he asked me questions and did not rush through the exam which I liked. After my adjustment I felt better but of course not 100% as he explained this was going to be a process but I never felt like he was selling me anything. I was in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run but had suffered a pinched nerve in my C6/C7 a few days before the race. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very courteous assistant who got me registered. Then Dr. Dominique Cassetori came out and introduced herself and asked me what brought me in. She spent a LOT of time with me -- not only treating me, but educating me as to what was going on with my body and discussing what my treatment plan would be. I got a LOT of relief after just one adjustment and was able to not only participate in the race but beat my target goal time! Doesn't matter if you haven't been in months ( I've been 2 times in 2 months) $39 is for one adjustment but monthly they charge $59 monthly . So instead of paying close to $80 for two adjustments I'm paying $177. The staff is very difficult to work with and only care about money. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this business. I had tried every possible solution for acute vertigo from an injury, and - even though I should have known better, because I'm a fan of chiropractic - chiropractic was the very last thing I thought of. I can't review the plans as I am not on one but my first visit to the Joint in Summerville was fantastic. I was able to get in and out in no time. I was in Summerville for a meeting and then a golf tournament that did not start for a couple hours so was looking for a way to pass the time. I did a little shopping near Dick's Sporting goods and Target and still had an hour to kill before the tournament started. I saw the sign and gave it a shot because individual adjustments are only $29.95 which is about what I pay when I use insurance and no filing. And to my great surprise when I checked in on Yelp it gave me a certificate for a $19.95 adjustment! Bonus! So the chiropractor twisted and stretched me and heard lots of good popping noises. The cracking was good. The contract plans after dont make sense. You can get a six month contract. Or a month to month. There is a problem with the month plan. You have to cancle in person at the shop 30 days prior. That meas the firat month you are locked I. For two months. I just want the adhustment on my neck not get locked into a contract like my cell phone. read more

Dr. Rushing and Dr. cassatori are awesome. Dr Hudson was also a favorite to see until he left (not sure where he went). Kinda annoying that the drs choose what they do and don't adjust. One has done everything including wrist and ankle adjustments. Another only adjusts from pelvis up and doesn't do anything with the hips even when I've stated they are bothersome.
