    Jocelyn the bartender

Don't go here Bartenders are scammers! Managed to get the name of the bartender (Jocelyn) if that was even her real name but got a picture of her. Horrible person avoid her if you don't want to get scammed. She got mad at me for something someone else did. Not only was it rude, but also very racist. She then gave herself 20% tip without asking. Gave me a receipt then made us wait forever for our drinks so I asked for a refund before she made our drinks. She said no. Then lied and she she made the drinks a long time ago as if it wasn't directly in front of me. She talks to customers like they are stupid. Wouldn't give me a manager either she just said "nope I'm the manager". Worse service I've experienced at a bar.

I liked the music here and the drinks were ok, but if you get lured into a "free" drink- it's not really free. Bartender told us it's normally included in receipt just hidden which felt icky.

So this is one of your bars on dirty 6th st. So you can't expect it to be top notch but I will say that it is a fun bar and everyone in there is always very nice. And the food is just delicious food. If you want good french fries and a burger or chicken strips definitely hit this place up. Only thing I can complain about is the restrooms that they are very unkept and smelly. I love getting the pulled pork sandwich there with extra pickles and it comes on some kind of sweet bun that it's just amazing. You have to get the waffle fries with a side of Kasso. It just makes the day. My friend got lemon pepper chicken tenders and OMG it's the first time I tried them and they were delicious. They have a full bar so can make you anything you want and always have some kind of shot special. And this place is dog friendly, which is awesome.

We loved it there. The indoor/ outdoor situation was amazing. They had cornhole and cute swings. During the day they have misters to keep you cool too. We loved the jackalope you could sit on and take pictures with. Who doesn't love a good Instagram worthy photo opportunity? The food was great and the staff was engaging and so attentive.

Fun place to grab some drinks with friends. Pizza was delicious or maybe it was because I was influenced by alcohol. Not the cheapest bar around. 5 shots were $80. They were delicious tho. I'm pretty sure they add gratuity to your check so watch for that. Good bar with solid music.

I checked out The Jackelope on a Monday night and while it was really chill there was still a decent showing of people hanging at the bar. The servers were really fun, personable & spunky as you would expect. And the food - it lives up to the hype! My burger was mouthwateringly juicy and the waffle fries can give Chick-fil-A a run for their money! While hanging out on the dirty 6th is not for the faint of heart and feels like KISS and Sesame Street blew up in a meth lab - it's still rich with culture, life and leaves you with no question as to why they say "Austin is keeping it weird!"

Waffle fry nachos. Sub-par bar food but came out quickly and got the job done. Fun display of a rabbit out front that peaked our interest. Cheap prices of HH (4-7PM).

Jackalope is always a good neighborhood hangout spot to either have a chill night or step it up a notch. This night for us was a chill night. They have pretty good food and are dog friendly. We played a game of Jenga outside with our dog and enjoyed a few drinks on a Monday night. If you don't know what you are going to have for dinner during the week I would recommend coming here to grab a bite to eat!

Loved this place so much we came back twice in a night! It was the music that got me. It makes you want to dance. Drinks were good. I didn't try any food but I've heard it's pretty good for a dive bar! Excited to visit again.

Very cool bar with an excellent vibe. Check it out if you are in Austin. The bartender was great and made the experience even better. There was an outdoor section in the back of the weather is nice. I didn't try any food.

This bar is located on 6th street and is a solid stop to make on your bar crawl. The giant jackalope inside is very insta-friendly, they tell you to feel free to hop on and take a pic. Our bartender was really friendly and funny, and served us right away. He gave us a few suggestions, and we ordered drinks and a round of shots. They were all good and mid-priced. The only downfall was they didn't shake the pineapple chaser, so it was lukewarm. Overall, a solid and memorable bar experience!

    No, its a bar.

When does the kitchen stop serving food?

It's 8:53pm Tuesday, pizza by the slice still coming out of the kitchen

You walk in and immediately know you are not in some polished Instagram cocktail lounge. It is loud, a little gritty, and full of people who are clearly there to have a good time and not pretend otherwise. The beer is cold, the Lone Star flows like Texas water, and the vibe is pure old school Austin. And yes, the legendary bathroom situation deserves its own paragraph. The men's room features a giant ice filled trough for a urinal, which feels like something out of a 1970s roadside saloon documentary. Somehow it is both ridiculous and perfectly on brand. It actually becomes a conversation starter because you walk out laughing and immediately tell your friends they have to see it and go pee. The crowd was friendly, the bartenders were quick with the beers, and nobody was taking themselves too seriously. I ended up staying longer than planned, drinking Lone Stars and talking to random people like we had known each other for years. If you want craft cocktails served with a rosemary sprig this is not your place. If you want a hilarious, slightly chaotic, authentically divey night in Austin with cheap beer and great stories, Dirty Bill's absolutely delivers. Five stars and I would go back in a heartbeat.
