I booked appointments for my sisters, myself, and my husband. Both my sisters had great massages with Christy. But booking was not an easy experience. The front desk sounds like they're whispering in your ear and they're very disorganized. Then less than 3 hours before my husband and my massages, I get a rambling voicemail from the front desk that my husband's massage therapist, Andrea Z, can actually only do 50 minutes because of wrist pain, so he'd be waiting half an hour for me to finish...not feeling full faith in someone who has wrist pain giving a quality deep tissue massage. I let them know the late notice was very inconvenient because we would've just gotten booked somewhere else, and asked for the manager to call me back, or to try calling someone else in who could support the appointment. About an hour before the appointment - no call back from the manager, so I call. The front desk person at the spa says "she went ahead and just changed his to 50 minutes (even though that was not agreed) and that she couldn't have the manager call me back - 'that's up to the manager who's in another building so it's outside her control.'" Just a lot of incompetence, poor customer service, and disorganization on their side. Customer's have to cancel before 7pm ET the day before for a full refund. But the spa can give 3 hours notice? The massage therapist here are so skilled, they really helped me recover from self inflicted injuries. I came to Hilton Head and took pickleball classes. My body wasn't prepared for how quickly you have to move and I found myself suffering from shoulder and low back pain. I was recommended to try this spa as they cater to a group of fitness clients with similar aches and pains. I came here twice and was amazed at the skill of the therapists Rachel and Laura. They were both precise, could feel the knots, and would work the tender areas in a way that was bearable and effective at reducing the soreness. By the end of my trip, my shoulder was in great shape and the spasms in my lower back had stopped. What relief!! This spa also offers facials and mani/pedis. The staff here is so friendly and they use/sell the Eminence line of product which are all natural. This isn't a full experience resort spa, but these therapists more than make up for a lack of amenities as they are some of the best. read more

I live in Shipyard and I received a gift certificate for the indigo spa for my birthday so I could get a massage! The facilities are super clean and the relaxing room is nice and calming. The 60 minute massage was wonderful and super relaxing and I felt great after!! I do wish they had a sauna or something else besides the relaxing room though to be able to use before or after your massage to give the whole spa experience. Overall, I will be back again, because the massage was great but wouldn't call it a total spa day. read more

I live in the DC area, my entire family lives in Beaufort, so let me start off by saying that I may be spoiled in terms of having several locations to choose from for services, and they seem to be more competitive because of that. If I have a bad experience with one place I can just pop over to another because we have that luxury and perhaps there this is rated differently. I've been coming to this area my whole life though and definitely go over to the island for most things (shopping, whole foods, any beauty treatments, used to go just for Starbucks at times until they got one in the old part of the town). I was excited to try the Indigo Spa because it had such wonderful reviews, but I have to say as a whole, I was not impressed with the quality of service. The staff and aestheticians were overly pleasant and sweet natured, but the quality of service provided didn't measure up to what I was expecting for the price. I opted for the Spa Sampler package, and they were quick to get me booked which was very nice, thank you. - Massage: The massage was ok, the masseuse asked me about troubled areas and seemed very knowledgeable about different aches and pains I described. This was probably the most enjoyable aspect of my spa evening. - Facial: The facial was next, and the facialist was subpar - again very nice but I felt as though she was lightly slapping my face instead of rubbing the products as most facialists do. Even though I am not in the beauty and wellness field, I know to take care with acids, and she accidently slathered it in my eyes, she apologized, but was still very sloppy. Also her "massage" while waiting for the mask to dry was so painful that I had to ask her to stop, and unfortunately her hands smelled like she had been cooking with onions earlier. Again, very sweet, but I would never go to her again. - Manicure and Pedicure: I didn't know what to expect, and I didn't know what polishes they use. Thanks goodness I brought my own, because I needed them. Again the manicurist was extremely nice and we had great conversation, but no cuticles were trimmed and little to no scrubbing was done. I didn't push the issue because she was super pregnant and I didn't even want to walk when I was pregnant - but I would not return for this service either. All in all it was decent, the staff were very nice, the facility inside was nice, but definitely NOT worth the cost. They included the 20% tip into the final bill, which was really nice because it saved me from having to do math but for the price of the "1/2 spa day" it was not what I envisioned from a 5 star spa. If there was no where else to go, I would consider returning, but I will most likely not return for services on my next visit. read more

We have a place on the same plantation as indigo spa. I went during our latest vacation for a prenatal massage. Although not listed on the menu they assured me their masseuse was well trained in prenatal. I got an 80 minute Swedish massage and it was amazing. I think it was Christine who gave me the massage and she was so good. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep at some point. Afterwards, I took advantage of the relaxation room and showers which had great hair products. Overall I would highly recommend. I wish they were close by where I live year round. But I will be back on our next vacation. read more

I called to make appointments for a massage and lip wax. They said the esthetician was booked but they could try to squeeze me in between appointments. I told them I didn't want to come back and needed both services done. They said not to worry, they were sure she would be able to fit me in and they would leave a note in the book. Since the lip wax only takes about five minutes, I believed them and went ahead and booked my massage. I made sure to arrive a half hour early. When I got there, they said the esthetician was booked and could not get me in. I had to make an appointment at a different salon and go a different day for my waxing. read more
