Still cannot believe the way we were treated…read more I reached out to Silvia and her daughter about getting my son into a new daycare after he had a very bad situation with another provider. She had amazing reviews and it seemed like she offered everything we were looking for: family oriented business, Spanish speaking, small class size, affordability and close to home. We set up a tour over the phone with her daughter who was extremely responsive and accommodating at first. On the day of the tour, my husband, son and I all went to Silvia's home and had what we thought was a great visit. We got to know her a little better, she seemed to like my son and our family and we left thinking it was a match. I guess we we're wrong! The next day I followed up with Silvia's daughter (I was never given a number for Silvia directly) and asked about next steps for enrollment. No response. After a another day passed, I texted. Nothing. A few more days went by and I continued to call, left a voicemail, sent a text. Still nothing. Eventually when I called Silvia's daughter she began to answer and hang up on me! We were in shock at how unprofessionally we were treated, and could not think of a reason why they would be hiding from us! My husband tried to call and Silvia's daughter answered, once my husband said my sons name she hung up on him too! Clearly Silvia must've saw something in my son (who was around 18 months) that made her think he was unsuitable for her daycare. Why they couldn't follow up with us and simply explain why they did not want us to enroll is beyond me! Our son is an average toddler, silly, sweet, not outrageously misbehaved or anything like that. He didn't jump on her furniture or break anything, nothing about our tour with Silvia would have justified their treatment and in my opinion discrimination of my son or our family. Needless to say, we never received an apology. Literally still blown away by their behavior as I write this months later. They need a lesson on simple common courtesy and professionalism before they consider teaching little ones.

She sends pictures throughout the day (which I really look forward to!) and is great at letting you know how your little one is doing. She is fast at getting back to you with your questions or concerns and is all around amazing. Little House Academy has been a blessing and my 2 year old daughter loves going there. She has a lot of play structures in the backyard and fun activities to keep your little one entertained everyday! Silvia is also very flexible and accommodating to your needs. My daughter's Spanish has also improved tremendously! I would highly recommended Silvia's Little House Academy to everyone.

Knowing I was a new mommy and first time mommy it was difficult for me to be away from him. They were so great and texted me pictures with updates through the day that first week even though they use an app to post things for all the parents. It's that extra special attention that made me feel so comfortable leaving my son in their care. Fast forward to now my son has so much fun here with all their friends and all the activities they do. When we go on vacation or have a long weekend he gets excited to return and see all his friends and Christy and Lea. They treat him as if he is their own which I love and they are great at communicating. When my son was in the hospital for croup Christy checked on him every day to see how he was doing. They have even been helping to potty train 6 kids all at once they are so patient and kind. It's going to be really hard for myself and my son to say goodbye when the time comes They are so helpful with teaching new things to my son and helping to break bad habits. Yes kids get sick but when your kid has a high temp and is clearly so sick they shouldn't be there you will get a call to pick your kid up. I get people need to work but when you send your kid to daycare super sick it gets passed around to all the kids and their parents, which sucks. The app they use is so great because you can see what they ate for breakfast and lunch, when they went potty and if they had an accident and pictures of the fun stuff they do. It's so convenient to be able to make my payments right on the app. You even get an email reminder which is super helpful for me so I don't miss a payment. If you are looking for a caring, compassionate, fun and supportive daycare this is the place!!

She also claimed my kids had hand foot and mouth spots on them. So I had to take off work to go to the doctor to have them checked for spots that must have been invisible because they had zero signs of HFM. There were multiple times she required a doctors note and I had to take time off and pay a copay for the doctor to tell me they are perfectly healthy. One day she tried to say they couldn't come back after the doctor deemed them fine so I just drove them straight back with a doctors note the next time. Why would they not be able to come back if there is nothing wrong with them....?

So, I've been a client of AKL for about 2 years. The school I started at is far from what it is…read morenow. I waited to post this review until after my children had left, as I fear retaliation by the director of the school. If you're considering going here because the facility is cute and the teachers are nice, run. Please run. The only reason I stayed so long was the two teachers my children had cared so much about them they kept them safe from Other aspects of this school that are just terrible. However the upper management is so terrible that all of the good teachers are gone and the ones that have stayed are almost being abused. It's truly horrible. The new teachers, I couldn't tell you, they have never introduced themselves to me. I was scolded by an apparent new staff and few weeks ago, who I don't even know the name of (she wears crocs and has long brown hair). I thought she was a parent at first. This all comes from the top, my biggest issue, and the issue most people have had is with the Director Suzanne. She's the epitome of all the things we've learned not to do when raising children, yet she raises the children with all the toxic aspects we now know are bad. I've even heard her talk about Mexican women's eyebrows as "chola" brows and multiple times she's tried to sell me on her daughters MLM. Teachers have told me they yell at the kids when no one's watching. I went to the owner, Edmond, multiple times but he really does not care. It's wild, he owns this business and has a daughter but my emails were met with kind words and literally nothing else. Expect when Ms. Suzanne confronted me about a private email of concern I had send Edmond about her that she had read. We ended up arguing at drop off and I was late for work that day. The schools been claiming they're raising Tuition to fix the buildings, they've been claiming this for years, I have never seen anything fixed, only things deteriorate more. The only thing I experienced was the lock on the gate not working for months, and nothing being done until a homeless man entered the school and they had to do an active shooter drill. Yes, babies, and toddlers doing their first reason active scooter drill. The only reason I know this is because a teacher was so shaken at pick up I made her tell me. THE SCHOOL DID NOT EVEN LET PARENTS KNOW. I hope they get it fixed because it's a beautiful school with some very nice teachers that they underpay and are literally horrible to. I am not the only one that thinks this, many families have left because Ms. Suzanne had picked on them until they feel they're not welcome. Many teachers have left because they dont agree with the ways she micromanages them and treats the children. There are SO many other wonderful schools that are cheaper, nicer, and safer. Save yourself the headache and find something else.
