Needed some weekend help, called Lofton on Thursday and had people the next day.read more

"Unprofessional & disrespectful" is what I was called by a recruiter after a cordial conversation…read moreabout changing my scheduled interview, the exact words I would use to describe her. The service that I got was completely awful; I feel like I was the target of a discriminatory tactic of belittlement. The lady's name was Danette, I called her on 25 May, and inquired about a position as an Operations Supervisor. She told me that the actual recruiter for Operations and Production or iIdustrial jobs was not in and that her name was Toni. I let her know that I wanted to send a resume and cover letter for my job and asked if I could email it. She gave me the email. I then asked her if she could tell me if I was a registered person in their database, because I couldn't remember whether or not I had used their services since I applied for the Operations Supervisor job on Indeed. She said I wasn't and she started telling my about the process and "how it works." She said she'd schedule me an interview and I can ask questions about the position to Toni and that she could decide whether or not she needs me or wants to pick me to send to the employer. We scheduled my interview for the 28th at 10:00AM. I completely forgot about it and had to go out of town AND when I remembered it was already the weekend. However, Dannette said that to be considered for the job, I didn't have to go on the interview anyways that I can still be reached from my info from Indeed. So, then I called back on 2 July after I didn't go to the interview. But when I talked to Danette just now, she acted like she didn't comprehend what I wanted, she didn't recall our conversation, and she told me that there was no interview scheduled. I said, "did you say this was Danette?" She confirmed. I said, "I spoke with you last week and I missed my interview and wanted to speak with the recruiter, is she in today?" She said, "No." I said, "Well, would you be able to reschedule me?" She said, "OK. What is this in reference to?" I told her, "Well I spoke with you last week about an operations supervisor position and you scheduled me for an interview on the 28th"--she cut me off. "First of all, I never scheduled you--I don't make appointments for Toni. And you are unprofessional and disrespectful for just missing an interview and not calling. This is for a JOB..." I had to the look at the phone, thinking is she serious? After she was done, "Excuse me, Dannette, I know about the process of getting a job and what professionalism is, but I thought this interview was to become a registered person with Lofton. And I don't appreciate you trying to school me about being professional, that's not your job, to be condescending to me. I have notes here with your name on it and the email you gave me; don't you see my email in the system because I sent it to you right after speaking with you. Now, whether or not you SAVED it in the computer..." Then she said, while picking it up the phone from or hanging it up to put it on speaker, "Let me explain how this works..." then she hung up in my face. I called back, and said we were disconnected. She didn't apologize or nothing. She went on to say I don't know what you want me to do; you went all around the bush...? I started by saying, "Well... " and she cut me off and began saying can I talk and you need to listen. She went over what the process was saying the same thing over, making excuses, trying to build a lie. She didn't say much, but she was basically to say you apply and we call you if we need you. When she was done, I said, just to reiterate. I called on the 25th to ask questions about a job. You told me the lady who was in charge of industrial jobs wasn't there. I asked for the email where I can send my resume and cover letter. Then you explained to me how it works. Then you told me you would schedule me an appointment with her. And you did on the 28th at 10. So now, I'm calling to reschedule. Not to argue about whether you scheduled me or not. Regardless of what she said the process is, or what lie she was trying to build, I knew what was going on here. And I was done speaking with her, over talking me and trying to jump from point to point. I wasn't going to argue with her and get her to understand how she offended me and has no reason to say that I was unprofessional and disrespectful. Because she went on saying things like, blah blah blah do you think you have a good line of communication if you work for me--I said you just said you not in charge of the operations jobs what are you talking about??!! Then you hung up in my face and didn't apologize."
