Her glowing reviews were on point -- it was such a treat! 60 minutes of Power Vinyasa (all levels) in a boathouse, run by Jenn, the ultra positive and motivating instructor, looking out on a Monet-like sliver of Lake Rosseau. No need to bring a mat, they are provided to you and are clean. There are also blocks if you need them. You will see people of varying ages and abilities; I think that everyone would get something out of the classes. The flow kept me stimulated and I felt great after the hour. After your class, you can drop by the bakeshop (by Abbey's Bakeshop in Port Carling), the juice stand (by Ripe juicery, based in Barrie) or browse the Lululemon popup store. We were energized and after a quick lunch back at the cottage, we proceeded to walk and talk for hours. I was a bit sore the next morning, a clear indication that yoga classes should move beyond "treat" status for me... If you are up all summer you can access unlimited classes for $250. Otherwise it is $20 per class.

The 3-story studio is located just off the main strip downtown. I signed up for the "30 days for $30" and registered for classes through MindBody, a website that lists all the schedules and the availability of each class. Clean changerooms and lots of space to hang up stuff. There are showers available too. I tried out an intro to silks class and had such fun, flipping around and playing with the silks. I also tried a vinyasa class with Ann Green in the loft. It had such an amazing view of Kempenfelt Lake and I learned a lot. Lame yoga classes often involve being told one pose after another, without much structure. Ann made us think about each movement and how they were related each other. She built it up with more vinyasas after we analyzed the structure and foundational concepts of certain asanas. She wouldn't let us move to the next step until she had checked to make sure our knees were all over our ankles in Warrior 2!! Everyone here greeted me warmly, and Ann Green herself even thanked me for coming. Amaaaaazing vibes. Treat yourself to a visit if you can.

There are outdoor pools of all different temps, from cold plunge to body temp to hot tub. The large saunas are absolutely gorgeous with floor to ceiling walls. They have two steam rooms with eucalyptus or citrus, hot granite slabs to lay on .. and more. If you're thinking about going, just go. Girls' night, romance, or solo .. all great reasons to visit. The only downside is if you're from out of town you can't stay there. We stayed at Horseshoe once, but meh. Since then we aways do AirBnb 30-40 min away in Wasaga or Barrie.
