My husband and I shared an acai bowl and garden scramble. To start off positive, the roasted potatoes with the scramble were excellent and they were kind enough to sub our toast for fruit at no extra charge. The scramble itself tasted as it should have. The acai bowl was terrible. It was extremely watery (like the consistency of juice) and had ice chunks in it. We should have returned it right away to ask them to make it again, but I was really surprised at how bad it was. Absolutely would not get again. The coffee was also bad. I was expecting diner coffee, but it was not good for even diner coffee. I don't think I would be back nor would I recommend this place as a breakfast option while in Cambria.

I had the chicken pot pie and finished every bite. The chicken filling and gravy was tasty and the pie crust was perfect. We also had the turkey sandwich with salad which I would recommend if you're looking for a light lunch. The ollalieberry dressing on our salad was a great choice; the berry isn't as tangy as blueberry but tastes like a cross between that and a strawberry. They also have a to go service option on the side. We stopped there to grab a slice of the ollalieberry pie : highly recommended! Great service and food.

I ended up with some sort of chicken sandwich but it had weird relish on it. The fries weren't very good and had a bunch of mustard seeds on them. Service was very slow to refill my bottomless soda. The only redeeming piece of the meal was the delicious dessert!! Oh, and they have a fun little shop attached where I spent way too much money!!

I've done some comparison shopping in recent weeks, and the cafe wins every time. One place in town prepares "country potatoes" as large cubes of potato with no seasoning. Cambria Cafe cooks prepare them as small cubes, seasoned and fried exactly as I like (I can't define the spice combination, but I like it). My scrambled eggs are never dry or runny, and hash browns invariably have just the right crisp texture. They also serve really good coffee, something which most restaurants can't seem to manage. This morning I tried their chicken-fried steak for the first time, and it was as good as my wife's, which is saying something. The ambiance is what I'd expect from a small local cafe, comfortable, but not extraordinary. I'll continue to patronize "my" cafe as long as they'll have me.

We also noticed that they sell Mexican Bolio roll and tortas (Mexican sandwiches) and will give them a try during out next visit. Service was efficient and friendly. We got a mimosa, classic eggs Benedict with hash browns and fruit. The eggs Benedict was a bit runny, the muffin was not too tough and not too soaked, the amount of ham was a bit light on one of the two, and the sauce had a good flavor. The mimosa was about standard. The menu has a good selection with a number of other items to choose from. We would come back here, but it is just ok and not stellar. For example, Broken Yolk consistently makes a better eggs Benedict than RC does. Overall, we would recommend giving them a try if in town. You will get a good, but not a stellar meal here.
