Turmeric immunity booster smoothie!
Donnie Mac M.

Arrived at 8:55 on Sunday morning, and only two parties in front of us in the queue. We had the San Luis waffle that comes with two over easy eggs, bacon and avocado. Perfect to split between two of us. We also had the immunity booster smoothie. We are not normally smoothie people but we liked this one because it was not too sweet. The people who work there are so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in that little back courtyard area is cozy and comfortable. The drip coffee is delicious and comes with a bottomless cup! Great value. We also picked up some waffle mix to try at home!!

The waffle was amazing, the house sauce is great. The wait was 45mins long for the one plate, so be prepared to wait. It's outside but the decor is cute. I will definitely come back

Super thick and creamy smoothies

Hidden garden brunch spot in Cambria. Delicious big blue corn waffles available in savory and sweet. But also -- BEST smoothies I've had - super fluffy, thick, creamy. It's like ice cream. It's even better than Erewhon!

San Luis Sunrise. 2 eggs fried with bacon ends and avocado on a blue corn waffle & a spicy sauce!

It's Food with a speakeasy vibe. only we looked it up on Google maps lol, but That didn't matter, because when u "stumble" upon this place u feel like u found a Hidden Gem, because u did. Enjoy! Service was great

Vegan bowl, Cambria Classic and Morro Melt
Shannon S.

Went for brunch on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. and ordered at the front counter then found a seat in the cute courtyard with a view of the ocean. The food was brought out quickly and wow, flavors were perfect. Husband had the Moro melt and loved it. I had a veggie big fall bowl. The Cambria classic also lovely. Great place for brunch, have lots of options for gluten intolerant peeps.

Cute little spot that truly is a hidden kitchen. You'd miss it if you're not paying attention. We tried the Morro melt savory waffle with a blue corn waffle, pan fried organic turkey, havarti cheese, caramelized, onions, avocado, hidden kitchen sauce, and arugula!

*Visited around 10:30am on a Sunday :) I cannot reiterate how much I love the hidden kitchen. Even though this location is only open during the weekend, it's in the heart of downtown Cambria and honestly a perfect brunch spot. The seating is outside, and is very chill & quiet area. Ordering is fairly simple, you order with a staff member at the front of the shop and sit down with a number. Your order will be brought to your table by a very friendly staff member. Once done eating, it's pretty self serving when you'd toss your plate and put the utensils into a bin. OKAY THE FOOD: * you CANNOT go wrong with their smoothies here. Fair warning, they are pretty thick and SO filling but you're able to take it to go if you don't finish it! * Morro Melt Waffle: today was my first time having this dish and MY GOOOODNESS is it super tasty. It was very filling and not too heavy. 20/10 would recommend!

Sunrise waffle Monte Cristo

Omg! This place is a Celiac's paradise!! Their menu is amazing! Every time I'm in town I have to make sometime to stop and eat there! The vibes are so cute and the staff are so nice! My must have favourite is the monte Cristo! But I branched out this trip and I'm so glad I did because it's now tied for my number one favourite.

Fantastic food that allergen friendly. We had three of the waffles and the Gordon Greens smoothie and they were all delicious. Highly recommended. I'm a coffee snob and the drip coffee we surprisingly good for a big pot of drip. Medium roast and food full bodied flavor.

Entrance it real is hidden lol

I have to tell you that I wasn't going to come here but I'm so glad we did! This is a hidden gem the best breakfast I've ever had. Don't let the Blue corn waffle or Organic make you think twice, it was DELICIOUS. Such a cute little place and the service was great. The girls were friendly. Don't miss this place it's A MUST try if you want breakfast.

Food was delicious. The coffee was great and the location very charming. Service was excellent as well. Love the small kitchen they run on. Must dry!

Weirdo waffle

Loved the vibe. Although it could use a little bit of dusting up. Pricer than expected. Ordered: the morro melt. Savory af Weirdo waffle. Great as a dessert meal. I like peanut butter but not too much of it. The problem I had was that the peanut butter took over the taste of the whole meal. The bacon was a nice touch. I love bananas too.

I've done some comparison shopping in recent weeks, and the cafe wins every time. One place in town prepares "country potatoes" as large cubes of potato with no seasoning. Cambria Cafe cooks prepare them as small cubes, seasoned and fried exactly as I like (I can't define the spice combination, but I like it). My scrambled eggs are never dry or runny, and hash browns invariably have just the right crisp texture. They also serve really good coffee, something which most restaurants can't seem to manage. This morning I tried their chicken-fried steak for the first time, and it was as good as my wife's, which is saying something. The ambiance is what I'd expect from a small local cafe, comfortable, but not extraordinary. I'll continue to patronize "my" cafe as long as they'll have me.

My vegetarian daughter reported that they…read moreare "good, not great": the squash could be of better quality and the green sauce was unwelcome since she cannot have peppers. (I scraped the sauce onto my plate and enjoyed it.) I asked for a kids meal burrito made chimichanga style and they produced! It had the beans, rice & cheese elements of the burrito and the crispy chimi shell. Unfortunately it came dry, no sour cream guac or even sauce on the side. Inside, the carnitas was too salty, but the beans and cheese were good. I added one star for the singing cook we could hear in the back. I like eating where people like to work.

You can feel the genuine care in how they treat both each other and their customers. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which were exactly what you want from a classic diner: simple, consistent, and tasty. Nothing fancy, but really satisfying. The potatoes were cooked well -- not crispy, but lightly done and comforting. The coffee was a standard dark roast served in a thick diner mug, exactly how a good diner coffee should be. There's plenty of parking, plus both indoor and outdoor seating. They have heaters all around, which is perfect since it can get chilly in Cambria. Overall, Redwood Café is a warm, reliable spot with great service and solid comfort food. A true gem of a family-run diner.

There is ample parking in the lot. They get busy on weekdays around 8:30-9:00, so if you can go for breakfast between 7:00-8:30, they will be less crowded. On our visit for breakfast on a Tuesday/Wednesday around 8:30 service was a little slow to get our order in. The food came out at a moderate, but not fast pace. We got a mimosa, classic eggs Benedict with hash browns and fruit. The eggs Benedict was a bit runny, the muffin was not too tough and not too soaked, the amount of ham was a bit light on one of the two, and the sauce had a good flavor. The mimosa was about standard. The menu has a good selection with a number of other items to choose from. We would come back here, but it is just ok and not stellar. For example, Broken Yolk consistently makes a better eggs Benedict than RC does. Overall, we would recommend giving them a try if in town. You will get a good, but not a stellar meal here.
