I started seeing Dr. DeMers because I wanted more specific tests done that GPs don't typically run…read more My symptoms screamed a hormonal imbalance despite two years of my GP saying my blood results were fine. Dr. DeMers is great and I'd give her 5-stars. She's nice, very thorough, compassionate, follows up by phone/email, and is reliable. You don't feel rushed as she spends a lot of time with you, and asks a lot of questions. I stopped going solely based on my experiences with the front desk staff. They seem very unorganized. The last straw was an unpleasant conversation with one of them. I should preface by saying that if you have a (high) deductible, be prepared for an email and phone call every single week asking for payment. These begin the very next day after your appointment! It takes a week or two to receive an Explanation of Benefits from your insurance, and according to the paperwork you sign at Thrive, you have 30 days to pay. It really started to rub me the wrong way because 1) I have a fear of doctors, so seeing them call/email so often caused unnecessary worry; and 2) I had never not paid in full by the 30 day mark. When I explained this, she initially said Dr. DeMers insists on it and she doesn't like doing it because it's uncomfortable. Then she became passive-aggressive and kept sarcastically apologizing. I never heard another word from their office or Dr. DeMers again even though I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment three months later! Here are just a few examples of the front desk's disorganization: 1. Called to schedule an initial consultation only to be called back the next day saying that they no longer offer consultations. 2. Provided my health insurance info./card at my first appointment. They asked for it again at my second appointment the following month saying they didn't have it, yet I was billed. 3. I accidentally overpaid on one of my bills. She said they'd deduct from my next appointment's bill which they didn't. I had to remind them after they invoiced me.

My OB/GYN went out of business so I looked into an alternative path for medical care. I had the…read morepleasure of speaking with Dr. Tonya Pasternak at this location. She was very thorough on my first visit. I had never been to see a natural health practitioner prior to this visit, so I was pleasantly surprised. The wait was very minimal, but I must advise you THIS OFFICE DOES NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE, except for OB/GYN services (annual exams). I had a total of three visits. On the first visit she had me describe my health history, current symptoms, ordered specialty lab work, and then made some recommendations of things to complete by my follow up visit. On the second visit, I went over my recommended items, got the results of my lab work, and then she preceded to make 3 tinctures of medicinal remedy using flower extracts and recommended vitamin supplements. Within one month of my second appointment I felt much better, but was really unable to measure the results without doing more extensive follow-up lab work which I thought was pretty pricey and time consuming. On the third visit she completed my annual exam, and advised if I had normal results, I wouldn't have to repeat for another 5 years. This surprised me, as I was always advised women should have annual exams Annually. This is why its called an ANNUAL EXAM. Anyway, the experience was a good one overall, but I did feel the doctor wasn't really able to relate with me on a personal level. At times she seemed very meek, as if she didn't really know how to treat me. At the time I had a lot going on, but not enough to look bewildered at times like a deer caught in the headlights!!! I believe in Naturopathic care, but not everyone has the means to afford it or the time for the numerous follow-up appointments. Your health is serious business, and with all of the information I received, this establishment is very good at what they do. Just wish I could have had more time and resources to put in the extended effort.

After doing that as a mess up, they told me that "they are not a fit" and I quote Courtney the manager. When I told them I was Jewish and I couldn't pick up my prescription that they screwed up on after 5 o'clock (shabbat). For their mess up, they're telling me that they're dropping me as a patient. I've never seen such a dysfunctional practice and will be reporting them to all bureaus under discrimination.

If you are looking for a homeopath, then I strongly encourage you to work with Rachel Koppelman and…read moreexperience the high level of healing expertise that she employs through the practice of Homeopathy. I came to Rachel with a list of problems that all seemed unrelated but eventually were revealed to be interconnected. All I knew about Homeopathy at first was what a friend once told me, that it is "the law of similars," which appealed to me because I have a holistic view of the world. Through her practice and her patient explanations I have grown so much more in my appreciation and understanding of this modality. First of all, unlike a regular doctor that you might have a check up with, Rachel is going to spend a significant amount of time talking with you and digging deep into your symptoms, your situation, how you feel, and generally what is going on with you. Just this alone is a soothing and healing experience and is a huge departure from what one typically experiences at a regular doctor. As far as my past experience goes, I have often been frustrated by the feeling that I was being rushed through my appointments by medical staff and had diagnosis and prescriptions just thrown at me. It just seemed like they were checking off boxes and trying to rush me through the appointment. I am sure that I am not the only person who has experienced this. Working with Rachel is the exact opposite of that, you're going to be heard and listened to and seen and asked many questions, including questions about issues that you might not have thought about. She genuinely approaches whatever illness or condition you are experiencing as a puzzle or even a riddle to be solved. That's how it seemed to me and this is how I've come to think of the Homeopathic approach. She is also eager to use whatever information is gathered from doctors' visits like blood tests, CT scans, ultrasounds, etc. Rachel is extremely knowledgeable about the human body in terms of its chemistry and functionality and applies that to her practice. I wouldn't say that you should dump mainstream medicine or stop seeing your doctor by any means, but working with Rachel is absolutely going to augment and improve upon your health care. Since working with Rachel she has greatly helped me with short-term illness like the cold and flu, pains in my joints (knee, elbow, etc.), tinnitus ringing in my ears, a pretty severe issue with pain and agitation in my eyes, terrible recurring abdominal pains, and even depression and sleeplessness. Many times she has outright cured me right away. Other times she might need to adjust approaches as the results of her remedies come in. All in all I will say that from my experience I feel that Rachel Koppelman is a Master Homeopath and I strongly encourage you to work with her if you are considering homeopathy or just want to try an alternative to what mainstream medicine is going to offer you.

Pardon the long review, but I truly believe the series of colonic I had with Gigi at Vitalized…read morePerformance Group truly gave me my health back after over 13 years off suffering. In 2012 I underwent the gastric sleeve surgery.  Prior to the surgery my digestive system was like clockwork.  As soon as I had surgery, it came to a screeching halt. For 13 years I have suffered with severe constipation, GERD, vomiting because when I ate, I was so backed up there was nowhere for the food to go.  I lived on Tums and laxatives allllllll these years.  I had to dedicate a day to trying to go so I could enjoy the weekend with my family.   I was hospitalized three times.  You name it.  It ruled me and my health. It affected every aspect of my life. I am also a sugar and carbohydrate addict so that just causes havoc in your gut. Early this Summer I committed to going for regular colonic.  I was in shock to see what was released from my intestinal tract.   Fascinating and horrifying. Since the series of treatments, I have cut all sugar and carbs from my diet.  I am FINALLY going to the bathroom with no laxatives, no tums and its way healthier (I'll save you the details!)  I have energy, my waist is smaller, my tummy is flatter.  It's all a win win! I am so grateful to Gigi for her encouragement, wisdom and support.  I truly feel like a new person who's no longer suffering.   I highly recommend!
