Great cocktails, ambiance and bar food. Couldn't find a better place to go on any week night

Was visiting Mobile for the weekend so stopped in to order carryout to take back to the hotel. I downed a double Knob Creek while they prepared my beef tenderloin and wedge salad. Once back at the hotel, I enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in a long while! Headed there now for a second consecutive night to do it all over again. read more

Loving the new Haberdasher downtown! I met a friend there after work for drinks and a bite to eat and I can see us going back again and again. We started with drinks. I ordered something called the 307 Exchange Place. It actually was made with gin, which I do not typically drink, and I really enjoyed it. It's not a sweet fruity drink, nor is it bitter or tart. It was somewhat savory and flavorful. The drink was $9. My second drink was a mocktail as I had to drive across the Bay. It was made with ginger beer and had cucumber in it. It was delicious as well. We went to the back and ordered our food. The menu was full of unique dishes. I ordered two arepas. They were actually quite small, which is nice because you can try two or three, or one and something else. They're fairly priced at $4 each. I had a chicken and cheese and they were very good. I've been twice in the last two weeks to The new Haberdasher location on Dauphin Street, and I have to say I'm really impressed. The first time I went, my friend and I tried different cocktails, and I won out with the easy tiger (still my favorite and go to here) -- we got multiple things to nibble on but our favorites (by far) were the Peri Peri wings (on special) and also the potato cakes with a beurre blanc (also on special) -- we tried a few other things which were good but didn't have as memorable a taste impact that would stick in our minds. The second time we went back we brought another coworker and we tried all different vittles from the last time. Our stand outs this visit were the bison burger (on special - and only 9$!) as well as the fried mushrooms (again on special) and our friend's "pig out" flat that he let us try. Everything would be something that I would eat again. Honestly, I plan on trying everything on their menu eventually, and hopefully at least one chalkboard special item each time I come for bites. They do food WELL here, to match the skill of the bartenders making the drinks. The owners have done a great job crafting a unique atmosphere with great lighting and a laid back yet hipster-ish trendy vibe, while not being obnoxious about it. I like the random selection of music they play (I'm guessing from the talented bartenders?). It gets quite busy on weekends and late night, but if you can get a table or booth to be able to people watch, I definitely recommend it. ALSO, I totally forgot my reason for writing my review in the first place because I got so carried away with raving about all my happy nibbles and imbibing -- ***FOR THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE A POOP RATING BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GET "SERVICE" *** It says CLEARLY on their menu to COME TO THE BAR for drinks, and to GO TO THE BACK KITCHEN to put in your food order. Currently bar hopping around on a Thursday night. Hit a few places but was not impressed, until I came here. A few locals recommended this place for craft cocktails. I got the Texas mule (not too different from a Moscow mule). Afterwards I tried the dark and stormy (apparently a dark a stormy is not genuine unless it contains goslings rum. It was very enjoyable. This place was the busiest out of the 3 I checked out tonight, that's important for a city slicker like me. There was great music and the crowd emitted a very positive atmosphere. If I didn't have to leave tomorrow I would definitely come here again and try some other craft cocktails. I didn't know the original bar like some of the other reviews, but I would definitely recommend this place as now. read more

Great drinks made by people who know what they're doing. I did not have food there because there is no table service, so this review is for cocktails only. I ordered a Jerk Store which is London gin, ginger liqueur, cucumber, lime, honey and habanero shrub over cracked ice. Meh food but cool atmosphere. Seating would of been fine but we were a party of two and they sat us at a tiny barrel and we didn't really have enough room for our food or drinsk. Drinks were great and the hostess was the cutest and sweetest but wait staff not very attentive. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when we decided to check another spot off our bucket list of places to dine in downtown Mobile. It's not somewhere I would go again for dinner but it's definitely great for drinks & appetizers before a show or the art walk. I ordered the avocado fries (yuck) & the pizza. I love avocado but the fries did NOT do it for me. The pizza however was fantastic. The crust was thin just how I like it & it had that extra red pepper kick that I love. My drinks are always the same when I'm out, Hendricks & tonic w/ lime & the bar was nice enough to keep these coming. My friend had the chicken tenders which she said were great. The atmosphere is very cool & there are places to dine outside. The only thing I didn't love is that when I go out, I don't prefer ordering at a window & waiting on myself, especially if I'm expected to tip. Perhaps that's a bit close-minded of me but when I dine out, I definitely like to be served (because I'm totally lazy). The staff was incredible though, especially the bartender who recommended cheaper gins for me to try. (Did I mention I'm cheap too?) I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon but if you're looking for a great dive to grab a snack before a big night, definitely stop by & check them out. read more

Very cute bar. It was not my intention to go to a gastro pub for dinner but I was assured the food was good so I gave it a try. I ordered the filet, sprouts and avocado fries. Absolutely amaze-balls!! The filet was cooked perfectly and just melted in my mouth. I'll definitely be back! read more

If you like meticulously made craft cocktails without the pretentiousness, this is your spot. Throw in some elevated pub grub and you have a remarkably unique venue that is both welcoming and obsessed with quality. Nick and his fellow mixologists put heart and soul into every drink, whether it's subtly bruising mint in a julep to a perfectly reimagined hurricane (minus the sugar syrup, plus whiskey and cinnamon). Good luck finding a more passionate, dedicated team of professionals who stay true to their craft. If you're within a hundred miles of Mobile, go out of your way to stop by. Even if it's crowded (usually a sign of a good bar), you won't regret it. read more

One of the better restaurants in the downtown Mobile area. A colleague and I had gotten off of working all day at the convention center which is a few blocks away and decided to hit up the Haberdasher before it got too busy. We made it just in time. You want to walk in and quickly grab a seat. There is no hostess or server. You go over to the kitchen area to place your order, pay, they give you a buzzer, and then you find your seat. We made the mistake of ordering first and then there were no tables available once we ordered. We were lucky enough to find two seats together at the bar. It only took about 20 minutes for food to get there and we enjoyed an adult beverage while we waited. The bartender was nice enough to correct me when I called the Pinot Gris "Pinot Grigio." Very particular there, apparently. My colleague is a vegan so she ordered a few different sides and they all looked delicious. I ordered the green goddess, avocado pita and I added grilled chicken to it. They were both delicious. Prices were reasonable but I guess on the pricier side for a restaurant in Mobile, as all the other places I want to were a little bit less expensive, except for one. That review will be next! You can find parking anywhere downtown, on the main streets or sidestreets. It is a very different dining experience as there is little service involved but the environment is fun. It is very dark in there. There is limited seating so I definitely would recommend getting there early. We got in just in time. Enjoy! read more

Wife and I stopped by during Art Walk. Cocktails as good as I remembered & what a top notch Bartender. Tip of the Hat to this establishment.

Order your grub at one counter (small but powerful menu) the order your crafted cocktail, craft beer or whiskey (long list to chose from) then find a table. It's all counter service. Food was great ( I had the veggie naan wrap and avocado fries) and my whisky was perfect. It was a vibrant diverse crowd and good vibe. read more

Just went to Haberdasher. Great experience! Smaller cocktail and food menu, Walk-up with mask, to order food. However, service is still great! Cocktails are ordered table side. Our waiter Sergio was awesome! He explained the drinks, ingredients etc., Sergio also had a special order drink made at at our request. read more

This is definitely one of the better spots to hit if you're hanging out in downtown Mobile. It has a great setting, laid-back vibe but with lots going on, a great beer selection and some killer cocktails. It's a big place with plenty of seating and lots of wandering room. Lots of wood and dark, earthy colors lit by by low lights and candles. The bar gets packed fast, but I will say their bartenders are fast and efficient, executing multiple cocktails at once and easily keeping up with tabs. Their craft cocktail list has the greatest hits with the Haberdasher's own twist to it, and the three I took down were fantastic. The value is there, too. Drinking here won't break your wallet. The food is a great perk, as well. The menus are at the bar and tables; after choosing you walk up to the counter, order and pay. Then they deliver your grub. The selection is an array of flatbreads, naan and arepas, tempered by burgers, sandwiches and lots of great gastropub fare, perfect for tempering the alcohol or simply enjoying some good food! All in all, I had a good time hanging out here. Good crowd, great staff, great food, great cocktails. I'll be back the next time I'm in Mobile! read more

This place is absolutely amazing the atmosphere is relaxing and hypnotic, the food is executed flawlessly without any fuss or fanfare! The price for the entrees was very affordable! Went in not knowing what I craved. I had the Rack of Lamb and was not disappointed. It was slightly sweet with a bit of a crisp exterior and tender meat. The salad had a stronger vinegar than I am used to but it worked well with the sweetness of the meat. read more

They have a good happy hour - $5 house wine, select drafts, 5 cocktails choices (including a decent old fashioned; see pic below). We ordered the steak and rack of lamb. We should have been tipped off at the price ($13) that they were not generous portions (see pic). The lamb was way undercooked and the 'medium rare' steak was over cooked. That said, this place advertises as a 'gastropub' and we found the food choices thoughtful. That's why I gave 4 Stars (also the happy hour deals). Loved this place! Craft cocktails and beers galore! The service was very friendly. You'll wait a little for a drink, but they're handcrafted to perfection and well worth the wait! Stopped in here for a drink last Sunday for a drink. It was not too busy backside of the flu going around but that didn't stop the bar tender from chatting with us and giving us great advice. I'm a bartender and I have mad respect for everyone that works here. Rando and the others have never done me wrong. I went last week for a drink and it was good as ever. I genuinely don't think I've ever gotten a bad drink here, and every single employee who has interacted with me here has always been very nice, even when they were exceedingly busy. I'm a big fan of a recent cocktail, I can't recall the name but it features egg whites and cold sake in it. Very interesting way of melding the flavors in it. Still, the staples that have been on there are good. Jerk Store, Midnight Rambler, G&T, the old fashioneds, the Mule, and that one that has an IPA as a mixer (it's good!). Really, the talent here is insane. I could never be so simultaneously hard-working and pleasant while producing such good results. All the other staff are really nice too, which is good because the food is also pretty good! Just in general a very solid place. read more

My coworkers and I met fellow Yelper Fran E. R. At this spot. It was great to finally meet her in person. We also got a chance to talk with the owner and she was really nice. We all tried some signature cocktails. My coworkers also tried the Conecuh sausage tacos, Cream Ale with cold brew coffee, and a PFG burger. Awesome place! A little gem in downtown Mobile! I was in town for work and my friend Rusty suggested the guys and I stop in, not disappointed! The food is great. We shared the fries with curry yogurt dipping sauce and they were amazing. Some of the other guys in our group tried some different tacos and also really enjoyed them. Their mixed drinks are good and strong, I had a few "Last Man On Earth" and highly recommend the drink. All in all great place, great beer list and excellent food. 5 of 5. read more
