Such a wonderful place. I've been here several times for various concerts - Arlo Guthrie mainly - and even attended a friend's wedding. There are always so many charitable events, musical shows and other "goings-on" at "the church". If you happen to catch a live music show, the acoustics are phenomenal. If you simply wander in to visit and say hello, take a gander at some of the wall hangings, photos, paintings...etc. Also, just enjoy the vibe....awesome, positive energy in this building. The good news is that they were able to raise enough money to fix the roof and get some other maintenance/upgrades going. Perhaps you'll be interested in becoming a member? read more

This was a highlight of our trip! We happened upon this building and the door was open. The man working inside was so kind and gave us a tour even though not a time where anyone was performing. He said that Arlo had created a "Bring your own God" church with a give back to the community overtone. We learned that it operates on donations of time, expertise, and money. The community has come together to bring a venue that allows for feeding, clothing, and educating it's people. I only wish we could have stayed to hear music fill the room. read more

Not sure how to really classify this into any yelp-like category. This is a church... THE church! You know, Arlo Guthrie's church, as glorified in "Alice's Restaurant"?! It is now home to the Guthrie Foundation. This is an admirably charity centering itself on charitable feeding of those who need food once a week. There's also concerts and get togethers occasionally thrown. But to me, it is simply the location of a historic building rooted in legend and lore. If you find yourself in Stockbridge, MA, go and see the church. Stop in and see some Guthrie family (mostly Arlo) memorabilia, and if it's Thanksgiving, make sure to sit down for some chow... I hear it's a Thanksgiving meal that can't be beat! read more

I ordered tickets for a chris Smithers concert at the Guthrie Center through their website which took me to Brown Paper Tickets. Immediately upon completing the order at Brown Paper Tickets online I received an email from Bandsintown ' you are now tracking Chris Smithers' I assumed it was the confirmation. I never received any email confirmation from either the Guthrie Center or Brown Paper Tickets. Unfortunately I didn't open the Bandsintown email until arriving at the Guthrie Center. It wasn't a confirmation and I don't understand why I received it. But most importantly I don't understand why I never received a confirmation from Brown Paper Tickets or the Guthrie Center. We were sent away from the concert very disappointed. I've complained to the Guthrie Center and to Brown Paper Tickets to no avail. NEVER RECIEVED PROPER EMAIL CONFIRMATION BUT CHARGED $100! read more
