On exploring Nunney I came across this tiny building. it is called The Guard House ~ The "Overseers" of the Parish of Nunney had this "Village Prison" built, completed 1st June 1824. Eventually it passed into the custody of the Parish Council.
Lock-up, now store. Circa 1700, altered C20. Doulting rubble, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. Rectangular. Single storey; broad door opening to front, chamfered stone jambs, wooden lintel with further stone lintel above, double plank doors. Included primarily for historic interest.'
