Our Grabill Cabinets are in their 24th year & one of the hinges on a frequently used kitchen cabinet failed to close. I was referred to Blum, the manufacturer of the hinges. After correspondence with Blum, I was sent two replacement hinges for this door. I am most appreciative since this specific item is no longer made. Grabill is so far behind on order fulfillment that our project with Grabill cabinets will take over 1 year to complete. The absolute worst home renovation experience of my life working with Grabill cabinet co. I chose grabill cabinets because that's what was currently in my home and it is a well known cabinet maker. Through this process they have broken my front door, scratched and dented my walls and ceilings, scratched my brand new $3000 stainless refrigerator and the list goes on. they also like to schedule days to work in your home so you arrange to have a neighbor open the door or leave a key out and they never show or even call to apologize for the screw up.(this happened at least 6 times). one day after A NO CALL NO SHOW I wrote a very "nice" email telling them how impressed I am with them so they showed up the next day without an appointment and tried finding my hidden key outside to get into my home to do the work. Literally tried breaking into my house without my knowledge!!! If this isn't enough to scare you off read on for details. I will try to keep this brief but I am currently in my third year of dealing with this true kitchen nightmare so I have a lot to say. To start I walked in and all I new was that I wanted black cabinets with stainless hardware. After hearing the prices of there hardware I chose to go buy it on my own at lowes for a quarter of the price and bring it to them to put on before installation. About a week before they are scheduled to install the cabinets I get a phone call asking if I brought in the hardware as I said I would. which I did weeks before. So that was my first red flag. They had to go out and purchase all new hardware for my kitchen because they had lost it. Then a short 2 day installation turns into weeks then months. They always have an excuse as of why things are going wrong and how I needed to be patient. Once all the cabinets show up I notice for one they don't all match one another and two its a dark brown color not black. They say you chose the color coffee and that's what we gave you and for the doors matching they said the lighting in my kitchen just makes them look different its nothing they have done wrong. As for the color I told the salesman I wanted black and he told me coffee is what they call black I said call it what you want I want black. So after many arguments and multiple phone calls and emails they finally decide to make it right with the color. the making it right took most of the summer and dozens of trips to my home while all this is happing they lost some of my hardware a second time. Very frustrating! They made so many mistakes they had to start upgrading my cabinets with end panels just to cover up all the runs in the finish coats of the cabinets. If they would cut the trim pieces wrong they just fill it in with wood putty which looks ridiculous and try to tell you that's how everyone does it. well I didn't pay everyone $9600 to install my cabinets I paid you to do it right. So after a stressful pissed off long late spring/summer/fall I finally gave in and said this works and paid the final balance of the bill. I wasn't 100% happy but I was tired of the headaches. I come to find out that was the stupidest thing I have ever done! Within 3 months the panels on my doors started shrinking and the bare wood started to show. When I call they say my house is to dry it needs to be around 50-60% humidity in my home which is outrageous and could cause mold to grow even. None of this was ever told to me ever. so they come out and test my house and it comes in at 48% which is about where you want your house to be normally. So again they blame me its never their fault has to be the house even though their tester says its good. this starts the next 2yrs of hell. Dozens of return trips to my home and hundreds of emails and phone calls.(if I had to guess they have been to my home over 50 time and I have on hand over 250 emails alone) One day I get home after they have left and I start sweeping up the front driveway where they just leave the mess for me to clean up and I notice my front door panel is broken so I immediately call "David C" and ask him who broke my door and where are the pieces so I can fix the door and repaint it. He says my guys wouldn't do that but I will check. he calls back the next day and says they said they did it but threw out the pieces they didn't think you would notice. Unbelievable!!! they do fix it months later but use silicone to glue it to the door which is not able to be painted so that's another headache I have to fix. So after months and months then years of bull shit and being ran around they have remade my doors around 6 times i am still waiting on doors to be brought back since they drilled the hinges wrong about 3 weeks ago.
