We had an amazing visit today at The Gourd Farm in Wrens, Georgia for today's big seasonal half off sale. We learned a lot about this family business started by the grandmother after an aunt's request for gourds in 1974. Per the website, the business grew to the point that it made Wrens "The Gourd Capitol of the World." Kelli walked us around a little and talked about the different types of gourds, pricing, and even showed us the "gourd museum" that her husband's grandmother had started. This is a great place for people of all ages and of course families, and the museum is the only spot that is not handicap accessible due to a large stone staircase (it's a very old structure). What can you use gourds for? Almost anything. The benefit of buying these gourds that are already dry is that you don't have to wait a year or so for it to be ready to craft. read more
