Is it raining or is it too hot for your liking? Try out the golf simulators! As a beginner golfer, I thoroughly enjoyed using the simulators here to practice and get better. When I finally played a real course, I thought my golf game was a lot better. You can rent simulators by the hour (online booking) and bring your family and friends to join in on the fun. If the entire party doesn't want to golf, they can always watch you golfing while they enjoy very good Asian fusion food and a full on bar. If you ever been to a golf simulator business before , I bet you've never experienced a simulator like they have here. The ground has three options based on where you hit your ball (green, rough, sand) and it rotates automatically based on your game. I don't think I've seen this type of simulator anywhere else. The owners, Won and Jason, are superb people and are always willing to help out if you have any questions. This is much more accessible than going to an actual golf course and eliminates all the pressures to keep the game moving. Each bay has a comfy couch for people to rest in between swings and enjoy food (sushi, sandwiches, burgers) and drinks they can order at the full bar and restaurant at the venue. If you don't have golf club, there are golf clubs you can run for a small fee. There are seven bays and one private room to accommodate yourself or your group. Overall, they are consistent even when it gets hot and the morning dew dries up. Not too much roll out around the course mainly because it's watered well and when the ball impacts the green it leaves a deep ball mark. There aren't major water hazards, mainly small creeks winding their way through the course. Traps were in good shape. Affordable and enjoyable.

Up until today, I would have given them 4 Stars. After my experience today, it is 1 Star. Today, awaiting the round to start, I observed a golfer, with cart, standing by the 125 Marker in the middle of the Driving Range as he was nearly 75 yards off course, out of bounds and he was trying to get back on the 18th fairway/green. I pointed it out to the Ranger on duty and he looked over at the golfer and shrugged his shoulders and said some people don't care about the OB Markers. He didn't care about it one bit. He drove off in the opposite direction and let the golfer stand in the middle of the Driving Range like it was nothing. Didn't stop there. After my round, I went to the Pro Shop to explain what I saw, and how their Ranger reacted. The woman in charge explained that they had " a lot of people who do that, and they can't do anything about it " When I explained that the Ranger could drive over to them near the actual fairway and explain it to them, she again said it wasn't a big deal in her opinion. Not sure why they would allow golfers to wander out into the middle of the driving range. Not just to retrieve their ball, but to stand there and line up their next shot. Pathetic response from everyone who was made aware of the situation. My buddies and I will be spending less time at this course going forward. Lots of nearby options and those other options actually understand how dangerous this can be. AND, would stop it as soon as it's noticed and not just say that it happens all the time and then refuse to correct it. 1 Star only because 0 Stars is not a choice

The entrance is a great spacious area with variety of comfy seats and spaces to place pictures to honor loved ones and showcase the couples travels and love story. We made it to the bar and noticed the cute signature drink signage. The margarita was delish! There were a lot of folks crowding the bar for cocktail hour and the two bartenders were busting their chops to serve all guests..couldn't help but noticed they could of used a third person to ease the load. Making our way to the next part of the room, there were cocktail tables, a photo booth, and sign-in/gifts table. After awhile the staff removed some dividers to reveal a spacious area for the tables and guests with the sweetheart table center and ample room for dancing. The evening flowed with speeches, plated dinners, dances, and a champagne toast. The salad sat on a cheese bowl with boats of dressing to pass around, the entrees had tasty veggies and creamy potatoes. My fiancés salmon tasted better than the chewy filet mignon. As soon as the dancing started, the staff would whisk away plates and bottles of wine to which our table requested the bottles be left behind due them still being consumed / half full. The bar was still flowing and later in the evening there were some midnight snacks. Bathrooms had plenty of stalls and were clean. The overall time we had went by too quickly! Enjoyed our evening!!

And they've definitely got the bridal shower thing down to a science so I can see why so many of my friends have chosen to have their showers here (or their hostesses have chosen to have them here). The bridal showers always start with appetizers out in the lobby. Like most social events the appetizers here at Twin Orchard Country Club are better than the entrees so eat up if you find yourself here for a shower! At the shower I attended yesterday they had yummy crispy pizza, as well as a delish looking tuna tartare, which I'd be about if it wasn't for the baby in my tummy. I've had lunch entrees that have ranged from salads (my fave) to grilled chicken and of course you always have to save room for dessert, which is usually cake in the shape of a ring box. YUM! This food is all served in a spacious room, perfect for setting up lots of round tables and a long table of gifts. My only complaint is that Twin Orchard takes forever to get to from the city (especially when there's lots of traffic), but I'm guessing most of their members live in the area.

Staff are appropriately available, courteous, capable and always on point. They run the events they host like a well oiled machine, making themselves almost fade into the background of the party itself. The restrooms are well kept and spacious. They recently renovated and opened a back area up- it gives the area a modern, yet warm feel. I would highly suggest it for a wedding (the grounds are beautiful when it's not 11 degrees out and snowing!) GPS will send you into the woods if you don't pay close attention. I'm very grateful for Twin Orchards hosting us every year, they never disappoint. Before I leave you, let me share this. DESSERT. Holy heavens hath opened up to bestow this magical, whimsical buffet of decadent deliciousness. I'm giving this course a 3 1/2. It's a beautiful and challenging course that's in decent shape with…read moregood length at 6800 yards and a slope rating of around 127. The pros: GPS on carts! Most holes are lined with trees on both sides and there a variety of holes that make you shape your drives. Some shots require a blind shot to greens if not placed properly. Greens were true and in decent shape with moderate speed/undulation, and not many ball marks. The clubhouse is quite roomy and has a variety of great food. The cons: No driving range. There are 2 cheesey nets with mats for practice. Some holes didn't have water in the ball cleaners and water fountains didn't work. Some greens were littered with leaves which made putting impossible. These are basic necessities that need to be checked and maintained regularly. It's an easy course to find. We paid $41 on November 1st, which is a good deal for a course of this caliber. The pace of play was 5 hours, but I'm sure it's longer in the summer. If management maintained the basic necessities properly, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.

However, I've been to more bar mitzvah celebrations there than I can count...and if you're looking for a venue that can do a turnkey mitzvah this is it. When looking for my own celebrations I looked elsewhere because I prefer a venue that's a little different, but Ravinia Green has the process down and makes it easy for those planning. Cocktail hour: I've been to cocktail hours in the restaurant, another room within the club and outside. I will say outside is the way to go if the weather cooperates, but unfortunately the weather is unlikely to cooperate in Chicago. Main space: It's a spacious room that's perfect for about 200 (an estimate) people. It's always the same set up with the stage straight ahead, bar in the back, photo booth to the far right and food stations towards the back and to the left. Tables are set up throughout the room with the kids typically being closer to the dance floor. It's a nice space that's easy to make beautiful with the right decor company. Food: I find the food to be fair here, but that's typically the case when it comes to serving food to the masses. I've been to parties where they can take quite a long time to service everyone from the stations so I recommend having 2-3 stations that aren't right next to each other to keep the lines down. I've found their Mexican and gyro stations to be the best. Dessert: This is what they do best so if you are at an event save room for lots of delicious desserts. I usually find apps and desserts (and skipping the entree) is the way to go at most events I attend and i know if i'm going to to ravinia green that the desserts will be extra tasty. Cost: I've never seen a proposal, but I'm sure planning an event is pricey, but i have heard it's more reasonable than many other local venues. We've been to so many events here that my family often says "again?" when i announce we are going to Ravinia Green, but there's something to be said for consistency and they consistently do a good job with them.
