Our daughter is bright, and we love that ERA keeps them moving throughout the day, taking them to different rooms to learn different things like music, Spanish, and science! She's been there for about two months and had a good transition. So far, we've been very happy here! If you're an anxious mom like me, I recommend you check it out.

I got on the list in May looking for a January spot and there wasn't an opening until April. I took it and luckily someone dropped out and I was able to get their spot for January. They also make you pay $100/month to stay on the waitlist but it goes towards your tuition when you start. The building is secure they buzz you in and out. The staff is incredibly friendly my daughter interacts positively towards each of her teachers. They have made me feel at home and at ease leaving my baby in their care. They also have an app that keeps you updated throughout the day and they will send you a selfie! I'm not going to lie and say this is an affordable daycare it's definitely not. However I feel the price is worth it for the education and piece of mind!

The reviewer, Rachel, could not be more accurate, and her story mirrors A LOT of what happened with…read moremy child there. Very disorganized, poor communication, inflexible and unable to deal with children who do not fit a very narrow, preconceived notion and definition of how a child should "behave". No basic understanding of behavioral theories and differing approaches to children's learning. I recall running into an a parent at the park around the time my child was starting there and she was telling me a similar story and I thought, "that's too bad, but must be something with that family or just a fluke, would not happen with my child" (ha!). It's good for who it's good for, I suppose. There's no denying that there are many families with children who are happy there and doing well. So, take this review for what it's worth and do your homework. Understand that while Montessori is billed as being very "child-centered," it is also quite rigid in it's structure and methods and may not be the best learning environment for some. Kids who are may be uninterested in the very lowest, entry levels of the "lessons" or have surpassed that knowledge already are still expected to do them, and do them happily. That for some children, of course results in problem behaviors that are disruptive and defiant (literature on child development tells us that). There is no direct teaching, per se, the teachers just expect children to do lessons and will not adapt their teaching or curriculum for children who need a different teaching style. even when parents have insights and helpful suggestions about how to implement changes that may be helpful. When this results in sub-optimal behavior from the child, the parents' input is ignored and if the child does not fit the mold, the child is defective in their eyes. The atmosphere at the school, while small and homey, can also seem exclusive and the parents are clique-y. If you have a child that is on any end of a spectrum (learning differences, sensory needs, gifted, etc) this may NOT be the program for your child.

Our…read moredaughters began when they were 3- and 4 year old respectively and despite English is not their first language, we are impressed how quickly our kids learned their alphabets, counting forward and backward, and holding a pencil! Our 4 year old daughter learned to write her name within 2-3 weeks starting at Harper! Our 3 year old daughter resisted our attempts to teach her how to properly hold a pencil at home but Harper was able to accomplish this! Harper serves a lot of physician and health care professional families working nearby at MoBap and Mercy, so they are less likely to cancel school days (for snow) compared to the local public schools. The heads of school surprisingly know the students very well, they are both very involved in all the classrooms with all the students and teachers, and also have a personal connection with the families, which contributes to an inclusive, warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. Even though English is not our children's first language, Harper miraculously over came their language barrier to help our daughters feel loved and included and drops off became happier and less tearful. Harper undoubtedly has a strong and successful academic curriculum but most impressive is their cohesive and nurturing environment because our kids feel safe, loved, and seen. Thank you Harper!!
