The…read morerestaurant is classified as "fine dining", but you definitely do not have to dress up for the occasion; I read a couple reviews with people who put quotes around certain words like: "classy" and "fine dining" and I felt, in my opinion, it's not what you'd think- so take that information as you will and wear whatever you want. We made reservations online due to the fact that it was graduation week for Chico State and the process was easy. We were seated immediately, the restaurant is a little bigger than expected because we were seated in the back section of the restaurant. But - definitely small at the same time because in the front of the restaurant is the bar and right next to the bar are the bathrooms; if there are people standing around the bar, there is no room to move around them. (When we were there those standing around the bar were are barely aware of their surroundings and didn't move for you to get through) Our server was vibrant and nice, he made sure to mention the new items for the week and hyped up each dish we chose to order; he even remembered that we were there for a birthday (as I added this comment in the reservation). However there were little mishaps, for example : my husband said no anchovies in his Cesar salad... when the salad was brought: anchovies. Our server took all my utensils when he cleared our table and left me with nothing; he noticed and said: "I will bring you an extra fork for your dinner." - welp , no fork was brought.. We both got pasta: I got the shrimp Alfredo, he got the Alfredo and added meatballs... I raised my hand to try to get our servers attention, but that didn't happen so my husband gave me his fork and he ate his pasta with a spoon. (Don't try it). I think our server was just a little frantic. When we got our food we agreed that the Alfredo sauce was a little watered down with not much flavor. (Had to add salt) but they did give big portions. At the end of the meal, we got brownies on the house for my birthday, which was nice. Overall, will we got back? Probably not. But- we did see a video online stating their calamari was the best thing on their menu, so MAYBE we will go back to try that.? Who knows.

The butter chicken sauce was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful blend of spices that was rich and flavorful without being overpowering. It had lots of juicy, tender chunks of chicken and came with a serving of rice. The tandoori chicken was equally delicious . It was moist, flavorful, and I don't know what they're using in their marinade, but it was delicious. The portion size was generous--two thighs, two drumsticks, and a large serving of rice with vegetables. It felt like a great value for the price. I ordered takeout, so I can't comment on the dine-in service, but everyone I interacted with during pickup was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The restaurant has a cozy ambience, and they have a photo wall for selfies. Overall, a great first experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The staff is friendly, respectful, and welcoming, and Sofi, the owner, is especially kind and helpful. We started with the chana chaat, which was absolutely delicious. It's been a long time coming--I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to put this into words…read more We've been coming here for 8 years, and it's more than just a sushi spot to us. This is where my husband and I learned to truly appreciate nigiri--the simplicity, the quality, the intention behind every piece. There's something special about knowing the fish is always sustainable, always fresh, and always treated with so much respect. The nigiri is consistently top tier. Our forever favorites: masu, bincho, hotate, ama ebi --and toro belly or uni when we're lucky enough to catch it. And we can't skip the starters: smoked collars, shiitake tempura, miso soup, and that chipotle lime edamame we crave constantly. Even the vegan rolls are insanely good, and the Godman roll? Truly unforgettable. But what really makes this place ours is the people. The chef and his team have become some of our favorite humans in Chico. Every visit feels warm, familiar, and full of joy--like being welcomed back by family. Walking through those doors always feels like coming home.

It's growing quickly yet it's a sweet quiet area from a thriving town. No crazy hustle and crowds! Burban Kitchen is very trendy with an open concept. They have a dog friendly patio!
