This is a newly built home, with huge modern en-suite purpose built bedrooms, each with their own TV. Great breakfasts. Very quiet and tranquil. Located at the entrance to Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh and run by a golf loving couple, Jimmy and Joan who have spent many years working in the States and have a great way about them...they will even share a glass of wine with you in the kitchen. Great place to stay to go hiking and beach walking.

There's nothing groundbreaking about the food - it's good country family type fare - big portions and good quality though maybe lacking in flavour and thought in some instances. The staff were not the friendliest which is what dropped a major star in my opinion. It's a cute spot though and as I said, the food was hearty and filling, so I wouldn't put up a major protest against going back!

I accidently left my phone charger in the hostel (because i always forget at least…read moreone thing...fortunately - and touch wood *knock head* - never been my passport); but I messaged the staff and they posted me my charger at no cost with a really nice note and free Rougey Lodge sticker. A+ service. Just goes to show its not a mass-produced hostel, its run by really great people - so thanks to Laura and Erick for organising that and can't wait to come back up and pay a visit!

They don't…read moretake credit cards, The lock doesn't work on the door of the room, the shower is smaller than a phone both, the beds are very old and lumpy, breakfast was nothing to write about, toilet seat would not stay up while urinating because it was the wrong seat for the toilet, only 6 channels of TV in sitting room only, no TV in the rooms and they are charging an outrageous 35 Euros per person per night. This should not be listed as a B&B, but a flop house perhaps. I wanted take issue with the owner and pay just 25 euros which I feel is still too high, but wife said, let's just move on. Don't say we didn't warn you.
