Should you happen to find yourself in the Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village, be sure to head down to The Garden Cellars for a fabulous selection of wine, beer, or some locally-made liquors. The Garden Cellars has quite the range, and is a great place to stock up on items from the Hunter Valley and elsewhere around Australia. In terms of brews, it was one of the more diverse selections we found during our time in the country, with bottles hailing from around the world for sale in their beer tunnel. While row upon row of choices can seem daunting, their staff are also excellent at finding the perfect one to suit your palate. They also have a tasting bar if you want to sample before you buy, with quite a few different options from nearby producers. Among those we tried, we found Polin & Polin made some of our favorite shirazes- although it should be noted that they do make several different ones and each has its own distinctive flavor. In addition they have a number of items from the Hunter Distillery with flavors less commonly found such as Ginger or Turkish Delight.
