I became accustomed to the Starbucks Caramel Hot Chocolate and was disappointed when I visited this Cafe Nero with my mother and they didn't have Caramel Hot Chocolate on the menu. Luckily, the super-helpful guy behind the counter said that he could put a shot of caramel in my Hot Chocolate along with the usual cream and marsh mallow delights and it was delicious! They are also very accomodating to my mother's weak cappucino requests. There's always a wide range of freshly baked and prepared snacks (sandwiches, cakes, cookies etc).

They do cakes well, and their Danishes are fabulous, a nice range of sandwiches and bagels means you aren't stuck for choice whether you have a sweet or savoury tooth. Another deal not to miss is their afternoon tea, now £10 for a slice of cake, scone, sandwich and unlimited tea. I've spent many an afternoon taking advantage of the unlimited tea! I prefer the coffee here - there isn't as much choice as Starbucks with the endless variations, but the coffee tastes more authentic and the staff feel more genuine. The location in Teesside park in the middle next to the public loos is easy to get to and can't be missed - you can sit and relax while watching all the folks rush by with their shopping (and you don't have to climb any stairs or go through other shops to get to it - so its easier if you've done a bit of shopping yourself )

You will understand this if you go on a weekend and grab a seat as soon as you walk in, you'll probably be knocked by other customers waiting to be served and get the odd handbag wrapped around your head! There are always plenty of staff and the turnover of orders seems to run smoothly, not a long wait for your order. There is ample seating, but like I say, could have been better thought out.
