We came here for my birthday brunch. I had been so excited when I found out they put a friendly toast close to us. It wasn't super busy as we came here on a Monday. Had a very weird experience at this restaurant today. I sat at the bar and through my stay the bartender, who was clearly not happy, was slamming everything she could get her hands on, including my drink which sloshed over the glass onto the napkin. Next, restaurant employees were sitting at the tables behind me and it seemed like a things were not going well based on how they were taking the entire time. Equipment and inventory issues I guess. Then, there was the food. Pretty tasty but the Benedict was on an English muffin that could not be cut even with the steak knife they gave me. I really want to like this place, but left with very mixed feelings. I took my family here despite my better judgment because this is definitely not your "in the neighborhood" breakfast place and my family is not adventurous. I did this because while the menu has some really interesting options, they also have some standard eggs, pancakes and waffles ones as well. No problem with the wait, put our names in well in advance and got in right when we expected. Mimosa was watery because of the ice (weird, who puts ice in mimosas?). App sampler was ok. It took a long time for our food. A long time. Even with it being a scratch kitchen, long. When our food finally arrived, it was not correct. My son's plain pancake was covered in powdered sugar and butter, and there was a misunderstanding with my husband's omelet. We sent them back and our server and the manager were great and the replacements came back out pretty quickly. I will give them 6 stars for their attention. The problem was that even without the sugar and butter, the pancakes tasted like cake batter. It would have been really helpful to have a heads up on that. Our son kept saying they didn't taste good until we tried them. Aha! My "Benny" was ok, and the same for my husband's omelet. At the end of the day, you've read the reviews. It's super pricey for a Sunday family breakfast and not worth it. But if you want a fun time with foodie friends and can linger for a while, go for it.
