I believe my review was a bit harsh, with no explaining my position.
So here goes.
This is a buffet. The menu is very limited, the buffet fair.
They try for a fancy chic look, but serving salad in a mason jar is nothing more than odd in my opinion. The main-course side of the buffet had several dishes, served in big pots. None were remarkable enough for me to even recall but a few; a sliced pork dish and a goulash.
Finding buffets unappetizing, I opted for the only menu item hardest to screw up, a 180 gr burger. Having celiacs disease I was pleased to be told they have gluten free buns, but saddened when the server quickly told me it takes a long time is not very good.
Burger served sans bun mit pommes frittes. First time EVER that there was not an over abundance of fries served. That my friends, sealed the deal.
Forever to get my 2nd glass of wine, selected from a minuscule but acceptable list.
On a positive note, the place was spotless. Really clean and orderly.
Servers, extremely pleasant however not overly attentive, (see wine comment above).
The breakfast spread was quite nice. Also a buffet, and I'm accepting of a breakfast buffet as long as there is a fresh egg station, and there was.
There you have it. If dinner is a big thing for your travels, stay elsewhere or eat elsewhere. If not, I like this hotel and it's location. Not of the same caliber as the Hilton just around the corner, but during peak travel times, 100's of € less per night. read more
