Ordered 4 tickets at the Grand Design Show for £60. Made a booking for 4 and had to pay a £200 refundable deposit over the phone in case we cancelled on the day. They called 5 mins before our appointment to say that their photographer was not well, can we cancel. We still had our hair and makeup done without the photographer, which we didn't mind because we had travelled far.
Phoned several times to find out about the deposit and was told - despots are paid back after 28 days, to call back to spk to the manager, called Karen.
Finally got through today. Apparently no one called Karen works at the studio. Even though I left my number and name, nobody had the courtesy to call me back. Spoke to Sophie who said 'Manager on the day wrote down in the notes that we will be forfieting our deposit'. Meaning we will not get our money back. Very unprofessional company and would not recommend. Sophie has asked us to go back and have our hair/make-up done and we will get our deposit back - we don't want to.
Unless I get my deposit back, I will be making a formal complaint to the Grand Design Show and Trading Standards. read more
