Since we live 60 miles away and more than an hour drive she told her she needed a later time. After explaining repeatedly how difficult it was for her to get up and get everything done in time to be there that early, the lady told her that was impossible and to just find another ophthalmologist.

It was the most positive experience that I have ever had in a medical environment. I saw staff and doctors in both the Hot Springs and Little Rock clinics and the Little Rock Surgical Center. Everyone I came in contact with showed extraordinary professionalism, compassion and such a personal feeling of attentiveness. Concerning Experience and Pressure for Unnecessary Surgery…read more I had a two‑hour exam here in December 2025, and the experience left me very uneasy. Despite having a large office, there were no ophthalmologists on site. After the exam, I was told I had "severe" nuclear cataracts and needed to have both lenses removed urgently -- before Christmas -- and that I would have to travel to Little Rock because they had no ophthalmologists locally. I was also told LASIK wouldn't work and that the surgery was invasive, which added to the pressure. The urgency they pushed did not feel right, so I requested my records and sought a second opinion. They initially refused to send my records to the ophthalmologist in my own town, and the doctor there had to call them himself to get them. My second exam (also two hours) showed something very different: only mild cataracts that are completely normal for my age, excellent eyesight, and absolutely no need for surgery. The ophthalmologist told me, "If it isn't broken, we're not going to fix it." Based on my experience, I felt pressured toward an unnecessary and invasive procedure. I encourage anyone who receives an alarming diagnosis here to get a second opinion.

They have said they do not issue refunds so I can get glasses elsewhere in a timely manner.
