The atmosphere is very friendly with lovely staff who can't do enough for you and clearly enjoy their work. It promotes breastfeeding in the cafe. The only drawback is that the cafe is quite small and narrow and only has little highchairs. It gets very busy on weekends, but if you can get in then it is definitely worth it!

They operate a loyalty card stamp scheme whereby the tenth drink purchased is free. The food is good and average price for organic food. The drink are excellent and at a very reasonable price, for example a pot of tea (enough for 4 cups) is only £1.60. A nice atmosphere pervades the place and the size is deceptive with four tables outside but sheltered by the building, and a further fifteen or so tables inside in two sections with a childs play area towards the back seating area. Very baby/child/family friendly and a lovely place to go!

The two communal toilets were also clean if a little rough around the edges, having a changing table was very welcome, though it was missing a strap and was placed in such a was as as you changed the baby the hand dryer kept turning on and off! It also sells ice-cream and yummy looking cakes and all in all is recommended and the cherry on the cake afterwards was going to watch boats using the lock.

Seating can also be a little limited here as well, especially at weekends. But if you can get a seat it is ideally situated to watch the world go by while you enjoy your purchases from them.

In fact, the visit here was almost literally the icing on the cake... Amongst the blueberry cheesecake, the cake display featured other calorie bombs like chocolate torte, meringue cake or carrot cake - all of which looked temptingly delicious. And believe me: amongst the four of us we tried quite a few of them! But Rumsey's Chocolaterie not only offers delicious cakes and teas, but while you are sitting at the table, you can actually witness how the pastry chefs are preparing truffels and pralines: in fact, I could almost hear the light cracking when they rolled the moist chocolate balls in a tray full of crispy coatings!
