I've noted this in other reviews, but being from Northern California with viticulture experience, I love being able to learn from and try other wineries. I've never tried any fruit wine and was slightly nervous, as I don't favor ultra sweet wine nor ports. I taxi'd over around 4pm - walked in through the main door to find myself alone in their tasting room. Once greeted I inquired about a wine tasting, where someone behind the counter poured me 4 tastings of more red-wine-like fruit wines. I was pleasantly surprised by the wines and also appreciated the knowledge she shared. I ended up purchasing the Blueberry one and the Haskap (that made it back to CA safely!). I then sat down for dinner (also was 1 of 2 groups there), ordered the Sicilian pesto and ended up getting the cookies & cream desert. Great portions and flavors, I can't complain. While I was waiting for my food, they let me venture around their Christmas lights experience outside. Again, I was lucky to be alone as I could use their handy wooden selfie stands to set my phone on and take pictures. I must admit I haven't taken a great solo photo in awhile and I now have one of my favorites from here :D Highly recommend if you stop by PG - will most likely be back for work again and look forward to popping in!

Ted Price, the artistic director, is a creative genius. Not only does he have a knack for casting, but his set direction has seen the creation of the most beautiful and transporting backdrops. It bears no resemblance to community theatre. This is high-quality professional theatre, like you could expect in any big city. The shows I've seen here include A.R. Gurney's Sylvia, Ethan Claymore by Norm Foster and Ernest Thompson's On Golden Pond. I've laughed, I've cried, and every time I've been amazed that such a creative collaboration is possible in a place like PG. There is a lot of theatre going on in this town (you can only quad so much). But this is by far the best, in my opinion. But if you want more, check out the Prince George Symphony's line-up. It's excellent. The Playhouse also produces some great community theatre shows.

As a novice berry-picker, I didn't exactly know what to expect when I arrived at Rainbow Berry Farm. I was pleased to discover that Google Maps didn't lead me astray with directions, and the farm was easy to spot thanks to the signs they had at the end of the driveway with the rainbow painted on. Once I turned into the driveway, there was a sign pointing to the parking area. There was plenty of parking for a business of this size, and the farm itself was very pretty and serene. I was greeted by a big friendly dog, and one of the owners gave me the run-down on how the process works. One important piece of advice that I did glean is that if you want to pick raspberries (saskatoons are the other berry picking option,) you need to show up first thing in the morning when they open! Many people want raspberries, so if you aren't early, the newly ripened raspberries are generally picked first thing in the morning by the early birds of the clientele. I was given an ice cream bucket with a handle and a piece of rope tied to it that allowed me to hang the bucket around my neck so I could utilize both hands. There were easily 15 to 20 rows of saskatoons and raspberries out there, and I'd say there were probably 2 other families out there. That being said, there was plenty of room for me to make my way around collecting berries, and the experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. After all was said and done, I left with 3 lbs of saskatoon berries. I had a nice talk with the owner again on the way out, and she told me that they will soon also have cucumbers, bell peppers, and other farm fresh vegetables for sale as they become ripe and ready to pick. All in all, I had a great time out at Rainbow Berry Farm. The owners were extremely friendly and hospitable, the price was super cheap at 2.50/lb, and the experience itself of getting to pick your own fruit to bake your own desserts with, is something that is definitely memorable and worthwhile. I would definitely repeat the experience, and plan to do so in the near future!

They left a couple of train cars open and I saw old engine parts, partially assembled models - actually a lot of cool stuff back there. Too bad those weren't supposed to be open, but the good news is with continued work they hope to be showcasing them soon! This place has a TON of potential. They've only fully restored one or two of the train cars, and several are restored only enough to be open to the public. You can climb all over anything that's open, and walk all around anything that's not. There's an original rail turntable toward the back. There's a weird burning apparatus that the mini-train goes through but you can walk into. It's just really cool, and I don't mind contributing $8 toward a place that clearly has an interest to expand and become even better. If you like old stuff in general, or machinery/rail in particular, make this a stop in the far NW.
