Still amazed by this lovely antique restaurant and friendly customer service, I decided to order a very cheap, $12 lunch special. My meal came within 15 minutes or ordering! The plate was filled to the edges with delicious looking and smelling Thai food. My mouth had already exploded after just one bite. There was the perfect amount of spice in the curry and the flavours worked together well. Not just the taste of my meal but also the presentation of my meal was an absolute work of art. With a full, impressed and delighted stomach, I left Bunja Thai knowing the true taste of Thai food. The food looked so impressive that it even made it to my Instgram and Tumblr! Overall, I really recommend this restaurant to anyone as I guarantee you aren't going to get an experience of traditional Thai like this anywhere else. I am astonished of just how delicious Thai food can actually get! :)) DON'T MISS OUT!!

Naam Pla has plunked itself next to the Theatre Royal smack bang in the centre of town and seems to be the go to chow for all kinds on a Summer eve. Hipsters and tattooed pensioners alike are smattered around the joint which offers both inside and outside seating as well as a bar to sit at whilst waiting for your takeaway. The menu offers more than just your average Thai takeaway around the corner would including whole barramundi with a green mango salad and Australian calamari offered as the staple seafood option for your dishes. It caters well to a sit down meal but I was in the mood to sit down at home. I ordered the beef Pad See Ew with its beautiful dark, sticky soy sauce and fresh greens ($19.50) and 4 mini chicken and prawn spring rolls ($10.00) which were nice but didn't really warrant the price tag. Overall, it was pretty tasty and I am happy that I've finally found some delicious Thai food close to home.

The spring rolls were full and tasty. The fish cakes were delicious and just spicy enough. The green chicken curry was again spicy enough. A bit more chicken would be a nice touch but overall very good. Delivery was a bit slower than expected, however it is difficult to find our address sometimes so it is understandable. Both the person I spoke to on the phone and the delivery person were extremely friendly without being patronising. I highly recommend!

The main street of Bendigo is filled with trendy and expensive cafes but step a couple of streets back off the tourist strip and you find where the real people eat. We didn't have much time and wanted something quick so a pie was the natural (if not the healthy) option. The pies here are made on premises and way better then the soggy rat coffins you get at the servo. The kids hooked into some good pies here. The missus and I opted for a chicken roll (they do sandwiches as well as pies ) instead as we had eaten about a years quota of pies over the course of the previous few days (including for breakfast that day... Don't judge). The roll was fresh, tasty, not soggy and filling. Just the thing to munch on as we barrelled down the highway to our next stop. A good, reasonably priced option for a quick Bendigo lunch.
