They are all very knowledgeable about the area and have some amazing stories to tell! The walls of the pub itself also tell a story, with lots of personal photos and trinkets collected over the years by the family. They also serve the best pint of Guinness in the land! It's a great spot to come with a big group of friends, there's loads of space and also a room with a pool table! The pub itself doesn't serve food, but they very kindly allow you to bring food in from the neighbouring takeaway while you enjoy your drinks which is brilliant! Always make sure to drop by when I'm in the area, it's well worth it!

If we had stayed longer in Strandhill, we would've liked to come back and try the entrees. It was very full when we arrived - indication of a restaurant enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. I walked in and the smell of fresh burning wood washed over me and I knew I was in the right place. Adorned with quotes and driftwood/branches, I took a gander around and sat up at the bar and was greeted with a smile from a super knowledgeable tender of the bar. He let me know what type of fish it was (do I remember? no, but it wasn't the average "white fish" answer I was used to getting) and that it was just caught the day before. Not much more I can say than this is the place to eat for an authentic Irish cuisine, pint and overall feeling than this is the place in Sligo area to go to. We stayed in the camping site in our campervan. there are some mobile homes on site, not sure if they are private or for rent. The campsite is nice and small, well maintained and has all the facilities. Food in the bar was traditional pub grub and what we got was tasty, with generous portions. the atmosphere in the bar was great - locals and tourists chatting away. I cannot wait for things to warm up a bit so we can go back.
