We came to The Drop for free comedy last night. Kind of a weird location (across from a jail) and you may drown if you fall into the the parking lot's puddles...scratch that, parking lot craters if you're not careful. At first, you walk in to the bar side which is pretty dive-y. The bartender greeted us very quickly and was friendly. Not a lot of great craft-beer selections here, but it get's the job done. The showroom is connected to the bar and is pretty small and intimate- great for comedy! You may want to get there early because the tables fill up. Overall, we really enjoyed the show, the comedians we're great.

Met a couple of house comedians at a local open mic comedy Yelp Event, and they invited us to come to weekend show. We had a group of 6, 2 with birthdays were admitted for free!!! Service during show was good, Chicken Fingers & Fries hit the spot, and Drinks were good. 3 Comedians from Chicago made us laugh, but the headliner, Adrian Cosby, think that was his name was from Columbus, OH, and he was hilarious. (Girl in audience heckled him the entire time, and he handled like a pro!) We had a fun time and definitely worth the $10 cover charge.

The aloft bar where the drop comedy club is located is really classy. The lobby is welcoming. The bartender is a really good mixologist!

Just seemed like they didn't really have the hang of the comedy business yet. The show was ok but it was kind of unprofessional.

Elkhart, Indiana's Lerner Theatre is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2024. The theatre was…read moreopened by Harry E. Lerner on November 27th, 1924 and originally had 2,000 seats with vaudeville, big band, and theatrical revues dominating the schedule. As movies came into reality, the Lerner also hosted them. The Lerner has changed ownership several times throughout the years and actually went vacant in 1987 when then owner William Miller passed away. Eventually, the city of Elkhart bought it in an effort to ensure its preservation. A non-profit negotiated to actually run the theatre as a performing arts center and initial renovations began to include interior painting on the main floor, restoration of the Grand Lounge, ADA compliant restrooms, new carpeting, new seats and lighting. It became apparent, however, that the beloved Lerner needed much more if it was to become the downtown Elkhart landmark everyone wanted it to be. Over the next several years, studies took place and plans were developed. In 2008, the city committed $18 million to a complete renovation that was completed in 2011. The Lerner today is a magnificent theatre. The Lerner hosts everything from local groups to national acts like Rodney Carrington, Brad Williams, and a host of musicians and comics. In terms of accessibility, the Lerner Theatre has wheelchair accessible seating available for patrons and companions within regular theatre seats in multiple sections on the Main Floor of the theatre. We have additional options for seating in Main, Left and Right, Row AA, that would not be limited by the dimensions of the patron's mobility device. These seats are available for purchase, or upon request, from the box-office (in-person or by phone). As is often true of historic theatres, there is no wheelchair accessible seating in the balcony section. Restrooms are available and do meet ADA guidelines. The Lerner also offers a variety of assistive hearing devices. While generally animals are not allowed, exceptions include guide, sign or signal dogs to aide those with disabilities. The Lerner does offer concessions and you can take them into the theatre, however, they do ask that you open any items prior to entering the theatre. As the Lerner is downtown in Elkhart, there are dining options available and it's very possible to enjoy a night in downtown Elkhart. Fun fact: The Lerner has a 1924 Kimball pipe organ that is one of only three Kimball pipe organs currently installed in its original location. It was restored in 2011. Free parking is available adjacent to The Lerner in the Civic Plaza Public Parking area and Marion Street Parking Garage. Tours are available - reservations are required and tours are $10.

When confronted for their extremely over oiled lanes, oiled to the point where it was physically impossible to get any spin on the ball, the staff stated that the lanes were so oily because they where just oiled today. This is not an excuse. Lanes being freshly oiled should not be this slippery. The balls were so gross that they could not even be held. Multiple people in our group and on the lanes around us dropped the balls on their approach even when held perfectly. DONT COME HERE!

We got the 2 hr of activities/1 game of bowling wristband. It was well worth it. This place is very fun! We played a game of bowling, drove the go karts, played a round of mini golf, and played some arcade games. We also both got a cheeseburger and fries, soda, and I got a beer. I will review each activity below. Electric Go karts: This was by far both of our favorite attraction. It's so much fun to fly around the track, and that fact that it's completely indoors makes it even better. Mini Golf: This Mini golf course is small, a bit cramped, and doesn't have the fun effects that other courses have. However, I love the blacklight effect and the circus theme is VERY cute. That being said, both the paint and the carpet could use a slight touch up. I wouldn't pay for the Mini golf separately, but if you have the wristband it's worth one play. Bowling: the lanes were cool (they had a blacklight effect as well) and while we didn't do that well, both my husband and I had fun bowling again. As far as the food goes, we both agreed that the cheeseburgers were actually really good. I had a bottled Budweiser, but they also had a few tap selections as well. They have a TON of awesome arcade games as well. We played the basketball games, skeeball, the electronic bowling game and many more. They also have several activities we didn't try: The "Ninja" obstacle course, the bumper cars, and a trampoline like jumping attraction. If you are a parent looking for a cool place to host a birthday party, they have a decent sized private party room as well. Overall, I give Strikes and Spares 10/10. We both recommend it and are considering coming back on future date nights.
