I gave the Flemington Doctor Is In 5 stars to be read. However, if I could have given them negative 5 stars, I would. When I visited them last winter, I was sick as a dog and had my formal negative Covid test results with me. Standing in front of the door, I called the number on door and got NO answer while looking at the person at the reception desk who ignore both my waving and the phone ringing. Next, I knocked on the door pointing to my phone. Finally, she answered my call and told me I need to let them Covid test me onsite, and only for CASH $70.+ I believe. Next, I called the Clinton office to see if this was a company-wide policy. The Clinton Doctor Is In was very helpful and deserves 5 stars. That office did not require that they perform their own Covid test for me to be seen. The Flemington branch my opinion Covid SCAM. Steer clear. Read comments from the many other one star ratings which describe equally frustrating experiences with this Flemington Doctor Is In such as, David R. 8/11 "This isn't medical care. In fact, it's the opposite. Dr. Klein put profits over his long-time patient's safety. We'll never forgive him for this cruel act. We're just grateful that we found an outstanding new doctor." I expect each "The Doctor Is In" has its own policies and rules. The above negative comments only apply to the Flemington Doctor Is In. FLEMINGTON 08822 Another 1 star customer (when sick)-I would not waste your time going here. I got a rapid covid test done and not once did anyone tell me i had to pay an office visit as well. Saturday, I walk in at 1:23 pm and one person waiting in the reception area. the lady at the window said, it's 1:30 let me check with the dr. if they can help you. She said the dr. couldn't help me, they close at 2pm. The lady said you could go to another office 30m out. That means when you get there they will be closed. DR IN FLEMINGTON NG. read more

The Doctor Is In used to be a good place to get basic medical care, but that's all changed since Covid. At the height of the pandemic, just before we were scheduled to get our vaccines, Dr. Klein wrote my husband a letter threatening to drop him from the practice and refuse all future care if he didn't come in for his annual physical within 30 days. My husband was at high risk. He's in his late 70s, and this was during the peak of the Winter 2021 surge. We were just 5 weeks away from being fully vaccinated, but Dr. Klein insisted that he wouldn't wait. This isn't medical care. In fact, it's the opposite. Dr. Klein put profits over his long-time patient's safety. We'll never forgive him for this cruel act. We're just grateful that we found an outstanding new doctor. read more

I sprained my ankle and came in. Their x ray machine was broken, so after sitting in a room for an hour, the doctor came in and told me it was broken and GAVE ME A CHEAP ANKLE WRAP...I called to contest and they said "But they gave you a bandage!" I'm pretty sure the billing department gets paid commission for this. Please look at the $141 of charges for said cheap bandage they gave me. $125 was for literally putting it on and the $16 was the fee for the ace bandage. read more

Not a single person in the place and I was here for an hour. Make sure you check whatever paperwork they give you because they messed up my date of birth after getting it directly from my license. We have been seeing Dr. Klein at the Doctor is In for many years. He is terrific. Very personable, good sense of humor and bedside manner, and very helpful with problems both large and small. read more

The most impersonal doctor's office I was ever in. Receptionist is cold, filling out forms. Ridiculous as I have been a patient for almost 30 years. It is as if they never ever saw me before. Love the doctor I see but Dr. KLIEN has made is place feel like the motor vehicle office. The dark glass at the front reception area doesn't help at all. Sorry I feel this way, but I don't think covet-19 is to totally blame. Sorry I dont have that warm and cozy feeling, just sterile and cold. read more

Zero ratings. We have been waiting over 2 hours with no updates. This office is a primary care office not an urgent care facility. They prioritize appointments not urgent care. If you need urgent care don't go here! read more

This is a fabulous find! Els is fantastic and so is the entire staff. Finally a Dr.'s Office with convenient hours, great "bedside manner" and a welcoming group of people. Thank you Els and thank you The Doctor Is In for being available! I have been a patient at Flemington and Clinton for about 6 months now and am so thankful for this fantastic care. read more

I've been really impressed with this clinic every time I've visited. Dr. Randy Klein (Medical Director / Founder of 'The Doctor Is In') put it best when he told me: "Patients care about knowing what's wrong with them, what caused it, and how do we treat it?" I've appreciated that Dr. Klein (and his staff) always take the time to address each of these aspects with patients during sick-visits, explaining the logic behind any treatment regimen they're advising. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes to be called back to a room as a walk-in at this clinic (recent times I've visited: 8am on a weekday, 7pm on a weekday, and 10am on a Saturday). I'm sure it's possible to experience longer wait times if you're walking-in without an appointment though, since the nature of walk-in's is unpredictable. Besides Dr. Klein, I can also highly recommend Erica Gilroy (PA-C) and Destinn McKnight (PA-C) at this clinic. read more

While they say walk ins are welcome I dont recommend it. I walked in the door at 8:05, the first one here. I waited almost 2 hours and I had to put up a fuss tube seen. I recommend somewhere else. read more

So disappointed these days...This was my go to place when my kids were younger and we had to see someone and their pediatrician was booked...Since Cov-id they've been awful. I had to have 2 Covid tests done on my kids within probably a 6 mos period - 1st one due to contact trace; today my son was sick. Granted they did the test, but I asked Can you please have a Dr listen to my son's chest when it was confirmed he was negative. I was concerned about bronchitis - other things than Covid. They do not let you in their building, don't want to see you. What kind of Dr is that? They're terrified after negative test to let you in their building and do basic medical work!? I will be going to the Urgent Care in Flemington who greet you with a smile and are not scared of medical problems!! read more

This place and the other locations are a joke. Lets see $ 400.00+ for seeing a Nurse for less than five minutes with a "take two motrin and call us in the morning if still not feeling better". This place should be in a Stephen King movie,, so the wait time,,if you are a walk in,, is the equivalent of the same wait time as the VA. You could die in the waiting room...then when you finally go back to be seen,,,,more wait time...it gets better.. try getting a refill on your meds..good luck with that,,call in and leave a message,,NO one ever calls you back,,call again when there is actually a physical presence there,,,you are promised that when the doctor comes in,,,she will have to refill it,,,,then with no response ,,you physically go there,,and you are told its been called in,,,think its over???no,, its not over ..they prescribe the wrong medication,,, I needed my HBP med,,instead I got my thyroid meds.. the sad part is,,,,there a couple of outstanding PAs there,,but there working in a substandard place,,,badly managed,,how they haven't been closed down is a mystery to me... read more

Horrible! Rude! Non caring and unprofessional. Just a note to the two receptionists.... I could hear you calling me an idiot bc I didn't understand what you were telling me. Your closed glass window inst sound proof. On the other hand, I fully understood what you were telling me because I am not, in fact, an idiot. What I didn't understand is why two people from your unprofessional office told two of us the same thing only for us to arrive with a desperate situation and be told that whom ever told us the day prior the information relayed to us was incorrect. Your office told two different people on two different calls incorrect info. And I'm the idiot? When a special accommodation was BEGGED for, I was immediately shot down. So much for the kindness and compassion. You should all be ashamed of yourselves in that office. There's a reason why you have such poor reviews...., read more

This place is absolutely awful. Dr. Strauss is one of the nastiest people - yes people, not just doctors - I've ever met. This guy is outright rude. I gave him the benefit of the doubt once, but the second time he was worse. I'll never step foot in this place again They are close to home but from now on I'll go elsewhere. If I could post 0 stars I would but even that would be too many. The one time I went to the Clinton location was a much better experience, but the wait time there is generally interminable. Still if you have a choice, stay well away from Flemington and if Dr. Strauss is working in Clinton, stay away from there as well. That said, I've found the staff here to be friendly. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The woman from the billing department is beyond rude. I've been a patient of this practice for many years. Recently I've switched my PCP to one of their PAs Erica LaBish. I had been having some weird symptoms, and they were persisting. I had even gone to an orthopedic specialist and nothing was improving. She listened to my whining and went over every visit and test. She suggested a few more pieces of blood work and found the root of my problem. She called me at home as soon as the results came back and advised me of my next steps. She continues to guide me through my treatment and is very diligent about making sure she has all the results from the specialists, and studies them. She cares, is very inquisitive and persistent. I recommend her and this practice highly. read more

Waiting room is dingy and they never have appointments available. The appointment slots are eaten up by local social services clients.

Doctors there are good nurses are even pretty good but office staff and billing are horrible. I got taken to court for less than $200. Be prepared for wait at least one hour just in the check room! waiting for the doctor come in to see you!! Plus the time in the lobby.

good afternoon .. this is the first time that i am posting a complaint on social media, but i felt that it needs to be put out there.. I have been very sick with Pneumonia since Friday. I went to the DR IS IN FLEMINGTON on Friday and then a repeat visit on Sunday.. The nurse brought me immediately back to a room and told me that Dr. Randy Klein would be with me shortly..i could hear him knocking on two doors, so i knew there were at least two patients in other rooms before me.. Here is where i have the issue.. after he saw the second patient he made a phone call and i could clearly hear him discussing scheduling issues ... i was waiting in that room for 45 minutes until i finally picked up my cell and called the front desk.. the receptionist politely told me that a nurse would come back.. the nurse came back and asked me what i wanted.. i politely asked her how much longer the dr would be .. she responded that she wasnt sure.. she left the room and i could still clearly hear him on his phone.. he finally hung up and THEN proceeded to discuss some kind of scheduling issue with his nurse, the same one who had just left my room.they started to get into a heated discussion right outside my door!! i picked up my belongings and walked out! i looked at the both of them and told them they were completely unprofessional. i will not be returning i went to another walk in dr that was open on sunday and they were absolutely amazing! There is a time and a place for certain things and that was certainly NOT the time, especially when you have someone SO sick waiting for such a long time to be seen! I took my sick self elsewhere and i am so happy that i did.. .. this is in no way a reflection of Dr Kleins capability of being a good Dr, it is about professionalism, making a patient wait for as long as i did while you tried to resolve work issues was totally uncalled for read more

I was a walk-in (no appointment), at 7:40pm, they close at 8pm. There were no other patients and they were clearly getting ready to close down for the day, but they gladly saw me. They were all very friendly too. I saw Dr. Messina - and I liked him. Even though it was the end of the day, and I am sure he wanted to go home, I felt he took his time to talk to me and check my symptons. He thoroughly explained the medicine options and finally what he recommended and why. He was also very personable and a friendly doctor and I felt comfortable. read more

So I'm new to the area and needed to see a doctor that day. They are an urgent care and a primary physician. I saw the negative reviews and was hesitant to go here but figured it was better than driving 45 minutes to another place. When I went there they were all super nice! From the receptionist to the doctor. I couldn't have made a better decision. I'm taking Dr. Klein on as my primary physician now. I have never had a doctor that was so nice and he really spends time with you and wants to help. I don't normally write reviews but it bothered me to see those negative reviews AND almost not go there because of them when it was really a wonderful experience. There was no wait time and the receptionist spent time telling me about places in the area to take my dog and good places to go eat. read more

The office staff is extremely disagreeable and unprofessional. I don't know who trained the staff at the Flemington office BUT they are rude, nasty, disagreeable, incompetent, etc.... just to say the least. After over a month of going back and forth between them and trying to get get help from a Workers Comp injury, they still have not gotten anywhere and the injury is getting worse and when asked whats going on the people on the phone are indignant and condescending. So what.... wait until the injury is so bad that the next step is to be hospitalized????? They do no followup, won't connect you to anyone who would know what the next step should be and all the while the injury gets worse. They are a horrible doctors office and if it wasn't for the fact that my work sent me there I would never go there again. Even the woman in my office who handles insurance stuff dreads calling there. All they care about is when Workers Comp is going to pay them. Shouldn't you put the patient first and then collect your money. THAT'S HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK rather then let the patient suffer. Horrible doctors office read more

I recently had a walk-in appointment re how a wound was healing. I was fortunate to have Dr. Klein spend a "great deal of time" examining the wound and sharing a complete course of action (so very rare these days). He also spent time reviewing my health history. I have been going to The Doctor is In located in Flemington periodically for about two years now. I have never experienced any problems or long waiting times. I've had Dr. Klein most of the times I have dropped in and he has always been upbeat, funny, informative, and quick. I had to go in today due to an unexpected breakout of hives and it was such a quick and painless visit. The nurse - I didn't happen to catch her name - was very pleasant and courteous and I was very glad I happened to be in the area and got an appointment on such last-minute notice. Would definitely recommend. read more

Saw me quickly with no advance notice. Professional and friendly staff. This place is extremely unprofessional and overpriced. I needed a physical for my phlebotomy course before doing my externship, so I decided to get it done at the Doctors In in Flemington since my primary couldn't see me before the form I needed filled out for the physical was due. I work 2 jobs and I go to school, so because I only have Medicaid they made me pay out of pocket for the appointment. I paid $160 just to get a form filled out saying I was healthy. They made me retake my PPD even though I had already had it done a few months prior for my jobs at the hospital where I work. I had to pay 35$ for the first PPD, not including the $160 I paid for the initial appointment. I had the second one done at my primary so I at least wouldn't have to pay another 35$. I went back to get my form back, and it turns out they lost it. Not to mention the receptionist is giving me tons of attitude and being rude to me since I'm asking for MY OWN information back. I'm extremely livid at this point. My best advice is DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. They're EXTREMELY RUDE and will most likely lose your important patient information. I feel like my patient rights are being completely violated, and if they don't find my form I want a full refund. I'll keep you posted on how everything turns out. In the meantime I've been waiting for an hour and they still haven't found anything. read more
